1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASIC = The end of decentralized mining on: September 17, 2012, 11:56:57 PM
I don't think it is the end of decentralized mining at all. I just started mining a few weeks ago on a 5770 I just happened to have when I rediscovered Bitcoin, and now plan on ordering a Single SC. The way I see it if it is profitable, great, if not, it will cost so little in power compared to the activism credits I get for supporting Bitcoin.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: Poll - If the reward halving is being changed, will you quit bitcoin? on: September 17, 2012, 07:15:11 PM
New poll: How many people want to change their answer because they initially misread the question?

Yes plz.
3  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Poll - What kind of miner are you? on: September 14, 2012, 12:53:08 PM
I'm a tiny miner, averaging a little under 200MH/s on a 5770 I already had. Kinda wish I'd looked into mining 6 months ago, but oh well.

So, does QE3 mean everyone here starts posting rocket pictures ?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Local bitcoin economy? on: September 08, 2012, 06:53:40 PM
I'm planning on accepting bitcoin at our community acupuncture clinic, but just haven't gotten off my sorry ass to do it yet.

Imported the old fashioned way... fly to Austria, come back with 8 barrels in my luggage. How it made it through security is beyond me (yes it was checked baggage, but can you imagine what the x-ray image would look like? hahahaha)

Lol. Throw a few handfuls of extra computer cables in there for good measure.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin life expectancy... on: September 07, 2012, 08:19:34 PM
Bitcoins will last as long as we do.  When we die the executors of our estates will have no idea what bitocins are let along what to do with them.  Bitcoins die with their owners.

Thanks, that reminds me I need to fill my wife in on what the hell that USB drive is doing in our safe and how to get/use the bitcoins contained therein should I get hit by a bus.

Just spent some time reading about the self-proclaimed "most famous person in bitcoin." Hope he experiences an eternity of cock-punches someday.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitInstant!! What Happened? on: September 05, 2012, 11:14:17 PM
BitInstant rocks. Bought my first bitcoins the other day, and was very pleased at how quick and easy it was. Can't wait to hear more about the online banking transfer option!

Wow! This is my first time looking in the n00b forum, and am amazed that someone would just come on a forum and ask if they could bum $25. Kinda speaks to how awesome bitcoin is that it makes internet panhandling possible.
