1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: February 01, 2024, 01:48:58 AM
Hey, guys! Are any of you emotional gamblers who often lose because you can't control what you feel? When you lose, do you tend to double your bets or chase your losses, driven by a pride that can't accept defeat? Do you consider this a problem? If so, has anyone here been able to solve this kind of problem themselves, and if yes, how did you do it?

I have this problem, and based on my personal experience, I find that sometimes I get challenged but not too greedy because I don't have a problem quitting when I'm winning. However, when I'm losing, that's where my struggle lies.

That's why I shared it here; I feel that some of you may experience the same challenges, and I'd love to hear your ideas or experiences on how to win this battle so we can enjoy gambling.
Yeah it happens a lot. That is why it is not recommended to play or to gamble when you are emotional cause it will only bring misfortune to you. We should learn to manage our emotion and stay away for awhile with this because we can be an impulsive player and we can only play a lot because it will not satisfy our emotional needs.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin network fees are not high is you who can't afford it. on: December 08, 2023, 02:36:26 PM
No one enjoys paying a high transaction fees, it's not fun to just pay a high transaction fees. Most people do this because they don't have a choice and probably need the transaction confirm quickly.
So it's not about not been able to afford it really. I disagree with you
I agree, been in this industry for years now and during this season the network fees get higher and the transaction time takes hrs before it will go to your wallet, I also do experienced receiving my btc before that took me days. But if you will compare the fee when sending money across the globe yes it is cheaper compared to traditional ones, but then not all will accept this kind of method.

5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: November 24, 2023, 07:59:09 AM
Good for you brother. That's the right way. Others could not get away from it so a big congratulations to you.

Gambling addiction is such a big problem today because of the ease of access to gambling sites. I wish they could be strict about the registration of their customers because there's a big chance that kids are with us gambling their way too and are now prone to what you have experienced.
I have kids, that's why I want this to happen so much. We will never know when they will bump into one gambling site from the advertisements that are coming out on both social media and other applications that they are installing especially games.
There's one android application that I have seen doing that and I know they have no control over their advertisement but at least it should be blocked by an ad blocker so that kids won't see it. That's not the case though, worse, they are offering premium items by watching advertisements and I don't think that's a good thing.
Anyway, I already uninstalled that app and told my kid to never install it again. I don't want them to end up as gambling degenerates.
I agree it is very easy to be installed and played even you are just browsing in different platform the pop- up ads can show in your feed and sometimes at the end of each video you will see some of them being advertise by people most commonly by streamers, we should learn to manage our emotion coz in hard time like this people get easily swayed by these , most of them are not legal and will not pay players.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not a casual fan but want to participate in sportsbetting on: October 27, 2023, 07:09:44 PM
once an NBA fan somewhat like a casual fan of NBA and wants to bet on matches.

being a fan but not going to do some research about the players and team conditions, how am i going to participate in sports betting specifically on the NBA?
i wouldn't want to just keep following based on the odds. seemingly as a bettor, it requires ramping up on lots of updates and knowledge of the sport and how the team players are doing. how am i to do it?

I love sports betting and here's what I do. I am following some people who analyze NBA or any game that I want to bet, some of them will give insight and prediction before the game start , you can also just search your team in soc media platform many people share their thoughts, it might be or not be but it will be very helpful to know which side is better and which side will won the game.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of investment on: October 27, 2023, 05:39:48 PM
Sometimes this fear came from fear of knowing nothing. Most of the people I heard who said that they don't want to invest in crypto or in bitcoin are those people who have been scammed by "so called" bitcoin. They don't know anything about bitcoin at all they just invest with those platform that offers high leverage because  they are aiming for huge money in return. They fear the thing that they don't know it well.
8  Other / Off-topic / Ways to learn and earn in web3. on: October 26, 2023, 04:24:56 PM
As a career shifter we have a doubt on how we can get a job in crypto/web3 market. Here's the guide I do to get a part-time and freelance job. (This is not for people who doesn't have an experience). For addtl details, I am into Digital Marketing niche from being a Software Engineer from Fortune 100 company, so this thread is mainly for people who are into Marketing and IT.

Step 1:
Learn the fundamentals and foundations . You can learn it from youtube , udemy and other website.
You can start your career as Blockchain Engineer or Smart Contract dev by creating account in these websites (note: this is not sponsored nor I am affiliate with them).

For Marketing, what you learn in web2 can be useful in web3 as well. It just that , you need to learn the fundamentals and basics of crypto/web3 first. You can learn from the following website:

Step 2:
As I said, this is only for people who has an experience before. You need to optimize your profile to look more presentable. How to optimize your account? Here's the step.
  • Use decent photo
  • Add your niche in your bio such as "Blockchain Developer" , "Solana Dev", "Solidity", "Smart Contract Auditor", "Marketing Manager", "BD"  and so on.
  • Add your work experience with job description.
  • Add your certificate (this is optional and not really helpful)
  • Ask for recommendation post
  • Create post, engage so that you will increase engagement and impression.

Step 3:
Find your dream job in Twitter (yes twitter, you only need to send "cold messages"), LinkedIN, Wellfound , Web3Career, #Web3 and so on.

Goodluck guys!

PS: I found my client in Twitter  Smiley
PPS: Should I make a thread next time , for my own roadmap to Smart Contract Auditor?
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: October 25, 2023, 04:11:16 PM
I feel the real intensity of my mistake after I withdraw my funds. My hand is shaking and I think my flu come back again due to intense game. I just recently received my yearly bonus and other incentives at work that’s why I’m very confident on playing huge amount.

I can’t imagine what will I deposit when I still lose my 1800$ because I still have remaining balance on my bank account this time. I learned a lot of lesson today. Even a casual gambler can still commit a mistake like addicted gambler does when in dire situation.  Angry
You felt that thing because you are too anxious because you lose so much , better not to play when you are feeling well coz you are not in the mood of course , next time much better to play when you are physically and mentally stable and healthy , even being sad or lonely can lead your game sometimes to loses . But losing that much is not good hope you learn a lesson and hope you feel better soon.

11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 11, 2023, 03:37:22 PM
At one of the local gambling shop I visited during the weekend I happened to listen to a conversation between two bald looking gamblers at the shop talking about one of their gambling colleague who had won a big amount of money amounting to a million in the local currency and due to that win this colleague of theirs' has been avoiding them since e won that money. From their conversation it was obvious that they were a circle of close three friends that gamble together.

After all I finished with my bet headed home and was asking myself what could the colleague act that way avoiding his close friends they all gambling together and just because luck shines on him first he decides to create a distance and class. I couldn't actually annex a good reason why anyone should do that.
For me it doesn't really matter if he will avoid each and everyone. Maybe there's a backstory about that, I am not siding to the gambler but maybe he has been betrayed or they don't want for his friend to ask for little money or even to lend some money who knows right. Or maybe just like us he has been persecute because he is a gambler by his so called friends.

14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: September 25, 2023, 06:07:31 AM
Yes, except for sports bet which is also considered as gambling. Most games that used RNG, provably fair are obviously luck based, but sports betting it requires at least some knowledge for you to win not just betting on any team or players.
Yes because in sports book you need a little knowledge as well , pure luck will not be so effective because it is a kind of match that will run in hrs and there's a strategy and team that are playin that is why sports betting is my favorite because I am not lucky enough to win in most of the gambling games and I want to challenge myself on how will I choose the team that I will put my bet with.
15  Economy / Economics / Re: Small Scale Business Ideas on: September 24, 2023, 06:26:50 PM

These are not very new business ideas, although these business models do not require too much capital, being successful with them is not easy.  with these long-standing business models, we will also encounter fierce competition from other stores.  so, whether the business is small, medium or large, it all depends on the area you live in and people's need for it.  you can't open a car wash if there are already too many people in your area doing that service.

Small business ideas are not as simple as many people think, everything has competition and demand, so it is necessary to evaluate depending on the area to come up with a suitable idea.
But offering services could be a great idea and best idea to do with low capital if you want to fuel your business , offering services is quiet good you don't need to release or spend money you just need to be consistent and do your job properly to earn money and by that time you can get a savings and you can start  creating business, along the way offering your services you can get ideas on how to possible work for your plans.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: September 24, 2023, 05:21:40 PM
That is a very good point that you have said. Not many know this but its true that we shouldn't have just one source of pleasure.
I got to understand this point few days back when I was watching one of the motivational videos on youtube.
They said that if we depend on one source for pleasure then our life becomes dependent on it and when we don't have it we become very sad or go to depression.
This holds true in gambling as well. If there's no other source of pleasure then we don't have money for gambling then our life becomes hell.
But if there are other sources of pleasure then we can rely on it and not being able to gamble doesn't bothers us much.
Yes I agree, if we will not focus too much on gambling and give way to other things then it will less likely for us to be addicted and I think it is better that we have other pleasure or habits that we can do when we are bored so that when we don't have enough money to gamble still we get happy in other things, we just need to accept that gambling is not the only thing that give us happiness and money.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino features you like and Don't like but you don't mind on: September 24, 2023, 04:33:52 PM
So you have been a gambler for at least 1year. Before Covid, you were a regular at the physical casino in your locality. You gambled with fiat. But when Covid hit, you discovered online casinos. You didn't need to gamble with fiat anymore but with cryptocurrencies. You tried out many online casinos but finally settled for one or two. There's no perfect casinos but you have stuck with this one occasionally trying out new casinos as advertised on the forum or out there but you still return to your favorite casinos. What are the features in your favorite casinos that you like that makes you keep going back and what are the features that you don't like at your favorite casino but you overlook them and still play there?
I don't like the transfer fee or withdrawal fee but then I need to get used to it, I am dealing transactions in crypto so I need to used to it that in every sell or buy I need to pay fee, one more thing I don't like is that KYC is implemented though I understand the reason why but I am always doubtful to it that my identity might be stolen but I don't have a choice I need to abide to it.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: You can't meet all your needs/desires at once, even if you spend all your salary on: September 23, 2023, 08:55:49 PM

Most people would let their desires win due to comparison to the other people, cause if they are contented of what they had, for sure they could save money with taking loans and withdraw savings just to buy unnecessary things that can't help for your own convenience. Focusing in investment rather than comparing would build up the mindset of "in the future or sooner I would also afford that" which is actually good cause for that term you could be financially stable to buy things you want.

I agree with this. When a person has a lot of money, he becomes a slave of money. He starts buying up apartments, cars, jewelry like crazy. But he doesn't have time to use even a small percentage of it. He just needs it very much to make dust in the eyes of others.
Some of the things that you have said is good, when you have money you will buy some for investment. It is just not for the sake of your happiness but I believe it will be soon for investment. Some other people delayed their gratification just to have a savings and after they do it they will spend too much because this is the only time they rest and enjoy their money.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I took a proposal to my State Governor to accept Bitcoin Technology on: September 23, 2023, 07:12:49 PM
A child in Secondary school is more than qualified to have some information about bitcoins. It can really help them to make decisions earlier. If the state has a young governor who understands the benefits that the knowledge of bitcoins and cryptocurrency will have on the children of the state will not delay in accepting this proposal to have it introduced to secondary school students. I really like it. When I joined this forum, I was inspired to make promotional stickers for bitcoin, it helped a lot of people, this your initiative and plan will help a lot more people and a good thing is that it is from an early age.
I agree, if someone from government took this crypto and web3 as a good thing and will help his nation or local community into next level that could be great, people at young ages should learn it so that when they grew up they will not be easily scammed by people in this space . It is good and happy to see some politicians that are open to your ideas and will make it happen because the also believe on it.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Experience for new and old gambler? on: September 23, 2023, 06:45:41 PM
Do you think it is the same experience for a gambler who has practically experienced and been involved in gambling evolution since gambling was on the street side with personal belongings or money, to spaces and buildings for gambling with money, to gambling with money online, and now to gambling with cryptocurrency online with a gambler who has experienced a few or just one of the forms of gambling? whose addiction will be harder to break?
I think yes, maybe skills cannot be change but your behavior will affect what you are doing now what I mean is your practical experience in real life gambling can either help you or make you more frustrated when you try to gamble online so for me it has an effect but not too much coz it is pretty the same for me, the only difference is that I am more comfy in online gambling and I can play without distractions.
