1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: July 01, 2016, 09:17:41 AM
I am trying to get p2pool working on my computer. I am having the following problem:

When I load the user interface I get these errors:

My user interface also looks like this:

https://s31.postimg.org/mfpyr77wb/p2pool_problem_2.png

1) I have NO CLUE how to use python. The installation instructions are completely useless as far as I am concerned. The setup guide obviously assumes I know more about python/p2pool than I know.

2) the instructions need to list an exact file name so that when I go to download the files needed, I download the correct file

3) the install instructions are not clear enough for some one that is not a developer to get p2pool working

Getting p2pool working is nothing short of reinforcing my believe that linux users have an ego they need to stroke by making things hard to use.

You guys need to make it you're number 1 priority to make the install of p2pool 1 click. thanks for wasting my time...

I'm using 14.04.

4  Economy / Computer hardware / does this forum have a market place? on: December 09, 2015, 01:53:56 AM
I want to get rid of my u3 mining hardware. They are really pissing me off and wasting a lot of my time. I want to sell them so I break even and be done with them and never have to think about them again.
5  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: anti zombie script for u3? on: December 08, 2015, 04:31:32 AM
It's not a power issue. When my miners go zombie I have more than one copy of cgminer open and the other copy of cgminer eventually picks it up. just lots of down time...
6  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / anti zombie script for u3? on: December 07, 2015, 06:50:43 AM
Is there a script out there to fix zombies as they crop up with bitmans u3?
7  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / wanted: New hardware on: December 06, 2015, 08:20:41 AM
I want to purchase some new asic miners. are there any asic miners that use the 22nm fab process or lower?

I have a lot of distaste for antminer because of the u3's that I have. What are some other brands out there?

my miners slow down when I use more than two with cgminer. Is that a problem I will have with the r1? I always have to have 4 copies of cgminer open to avoid the slow down....

does that router have a user interface? if so, how easy is it to access?
10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 05, 2015, 01:59:57 AM
Can I plug 7 u3's into one r1?
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 04, 2015, 10:51:43 PM
Is there any software I can run that will reset my miners if they go zombie?

You're pessimist Mikestang

I have 6 on my RPI Smiley

Block erupters are ok, and for 100$ you can get a bunch Smiley

Mikestang is a realist when he says they suck. Based off what I am reading the au3 is the only miner anyone really has any major complaints about. Wish I would have spent a lot more time than I did researching them before I purchased mine. The purchase would have never happened.

Also. Your miners are stupidly unstable. is there a firmware update I can do to make them stable? They can't even stay up a whole day with out turning into a zombie...

Welcome to the U3, this is how they operate.  You'll be lucky if you can get more than 1 to work at once, also, good luck!

What would you consider a good miner? I only want to spend $100-$200 and would like to ditch these au3's for something that I can turn on and forget about.

Google antminer u3 pcie connector or try ebay, or make it Smiley

thanks

Hi. I purchased 4 au3 miners off of ebay. The dude I purchased them from hated them so much he gave me 7 even though I only paid for 4.

I need two power adapters. Where can I purchase the power adapters?

How much did you pay?  I cant imagine giving 3 extra's.

You can look into linux and scrypting (such as RPI) to reset.  Or easy is get a R1 from crazyguy with custom firmware - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=612390.0

Either one is a valid way to fix zombies.

$100 with shipping.

hello Smiley

thy're no "our" miners Smiley

you'll have to learn to live with it, or just read through the thread to see the few solutions available.

You can power them using a PCI-E connector.

And if become grumpy and unhappy, I'll buy the 7 for the price of 3  Grin Grin Grin

Where can I get that PCI-E connector?

17  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / cgminer problem with au3 + what I did to fix it on: November 30, 2015, 06:33:42 PM
So I purchased 4 au3 miners that I didn't know had a reputation to be very unstable. cgminer would mine really fast when I only had one plugged in. plugging two in didn't affect my speeds much. Problem was when I have more than two plugged in. everything slowed way down and I started getting errors.

I ended up loading my .bat file 4 times to see if each .bat file would pick up a different miner. My thought is that cgminer does not properly handle I/O interrupt requests when using more than two miners.

Putting all my miners on one cgminer

using a different cgminer for each au3
