I would like to, do you have an API or anything available? We should talk, I want to understand what we'd be visualizing better. Cheers, nym I'm writing a tool to visualize the blockchain using Maltego.
Just last evening I have the core of it working.
Three Entity types:
- Block
- Transaction
- Address
One transform written for
Block -> Get Previous Block
Next I'm going to write
Block -> Get Transactions
I'm using Block Explorer web site as the Source of Record.
I'd like to get to the point, that you can transform
Address -> Get Related Transactions
From looking at some pictures in various articles about transactions, I see what looks like people already using some sort of transaction visualization tool set, but I cannot find the code anywhere.
Once I get this working I will open source it.
Maltego Community edition is free. I purchased my own Commercial License of maltego. I think it will work better with the commercial because the the community edition has some limitations like only being able to see 12 responses per transform. With the number of transactions in a block, or that might be associated with an address this could be a limitation that makes it difficult to use with the community edition.

Hey guys, We've been interviewing bitcoin exchange sites over the last few weeks. The list includes MtGox, Coinbase, Bitcoin-central, Bitfloor, BitInstant, and more. In a few lucky opportunities, I even have gotten to speak to owners in person. This was all in the hopes of creating a reliable place to find out what you'd want to know when buying bitcoins. What I learned in the process is: * Rates vary a lot! So do limits. Buying bitcoins reliably is still hard. * Bitcoin businesses are booming. Cool, business like this is what raises the most attention for bitcoin. I would love to buy your cupcakes, sadly this would require me to make a 11 Hour flight.  Can't wait for the day when finally a shop in my area accepts BTC. Hopefully it will be something jummy like this. I wish you best successes Thank you! BitInstant looks all right but their UK portal doesn't support my checking account (which isn't with the Big Banksters). I thought they would offer a direct transfer facility similar to what MtGox used to have at Barclays, but it seems not, unless I've missed something.
Have you found a way to purchase bitcoins? I would like to find a solution for you if not. |

Can you provide a source? Also, do you know of anyone who has done this 1st hand? Cool site! Note that BitInstant just launched an Online Bank Transfer method which works in a couple dozen countries including Mexico, Canada, and much of Europe. Fee is lower than the cash deposits and coins can be obtained even faster than the cash deposits. |

You don't have to have any sensitive info under the scratch off under it is just a code for redeeming the coins.  As long as there is a central authority who validates the codes, you don't need the codes to be legit until time of purchase (store owner scans card to relay back that it's paid for). Thank you for the criticism though.... I want to find any holes in this idea if possible. |

I am wondering what is stopping someone from selling scratch off cards like Facebook Credits, which act as gift certificate to convert to bitcoins? For $309USD, you could print 500 scratch off cards, which could have a coupon under it from http://paperco.in/I'm not going to do this myself, but as I see it, you would do something like: STEP 1: Get paperco.in coupons STEP 2: Get them printed on scratch off tickets ($309 for 500) STEP 3: Sell to local corner stores (you can offer to buy back after a month if they don't move) What do you think? You could even sell paperco.in coupons in a sealed envelope, but I think the scratch off tix would be appealing  |

Why not just use a mobile device? Bitcoin should be eliminating the need for an ATM.
That assumes you already have them... a Bitcoin ATM would enable exchange from one currency to btc. |
