People still sell drugs via bitcoin and sell fake ID CARDS / PASPORTS / WEAPONS in a huge volume. 2. Silk road has gone, and still there are plenty of illegal sites based on bitcoin and the price rate effected from illegal stuff the most today.

1) Remove the Paypal method from Ebay and unable only Bitcoin method will probably rise the rate up to 1000$ or more (not gonna happened) 2) Operate more sites like Silk road and make the darknet market more familiar will make a huge impact on the rate and the need for it by many. ---- Write yours
