You really are going to have to give us more information on this. What anti-virus flagged it? What program is the specific runtime.exe from? Do you mean runtimebroker.exe on windows 10?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as the currency of the future? on: May 03, 2017, 11:00:36 AM
As much as I think it's the currency of the future, I do worry about keeping lots of money in a system that relies on network accessability and electricity. Maybe it's the dommsday prepper in me but I like to diversify my investments into BTC, Alt-coins, gold/silver, cash and things I can use to be more self sufficient today and in the future (solar/wind, etc). I don't wanna be that guy around the fire saying 'I was a millionaire until they flipped the switch". I might be being dramatic, but think about it.
3  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BTCU Bitcoin Unlimited Mining on: May 03, 2017, 10:23:37 AM
Hi there!
I'm wondering about mining BTCU Bitcoin Unlimited, how i get started with an ASIC?
How much hash power i need?
Which pool and software can i use?

I'm a bit confused  Huh Huh Huh

Thanks in advice!

Have a read of the following link, it will give you a better understanding of what it is and what it is not.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin_Unlimited

To quote:

Bitcoin Unlimited (BU) is a full node software client for the bitcoin network. Compared to the Bitcoin Core client hard-coding the block size limit to 1 megabyte, from which it is forked, Bitcoin Unlimited does not hard-code the limit, allowing the users to signal which block size limit they prefer, find the limit having a majority consensus and set their block size limit to that value.[1]

The release of Bitcoin Unlimited follows the release of Bitcoin XT and Bitcoin Classic, alternative proposals which aimed to increase bitcoin's transaction capacity of around 2.5-3 transactions per second by increasing the hard-coded block size limit.

4  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [9.5kW SOLAR] NastyMining Green Energy Project on: May 03, 2017, 09:56:48 AM
Any thought on helping with the efficiency (even a little) by utilizing Peltier modules to turn waste heat into power (ever if enough to power a fan). I know it woun't be much and possibly negative as far as cost vs savings for a long time. I have a few modules lying around to experiment with on other projects and could provide some data if needed.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash multi-algorithm SOLO mining pool [BTC/LTC/DASH blocks found!] on: May 03, 2017, 09:45:03 AM
Nice work. I'll give this a try for my old gridseed 5 chip as a test/for fun. I think I tried it before for BTC, but might be worth setting up for LTC aswell.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: May 03, 2017, 09:20:54 AM
Wow, I will definately be trying out your program over the next week when I get some time off work. Very slick looking! Great work!
Thanks! Please let me know your feedback once you started using the application as well.

Downloading now, If I get some time this evening I will install and test on some older gear including USBs, S1 and GPUs. Does it support both LTC and BTC mode on the Gridseed 5 chip miners, I have one of those aswell - if it does dual mining that would be cool as.
7  Bitcoin / Group buys / Is there any current Australian Groupbuys or Official Resellers? on: May 03, 2017, 09:16:33 AM
Looking to get back into some hardware (low scale fun stuff). I remember there used to be an Aussie on here, I think in Melbourne a number of years ago. If there are any reliable/official resellers of current equipment around that could be recommended that would be great.
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking For Software for price alerts on: May 03, 2017, 08:17:43 AM

I use Coinigy on my laptop. There is a free trial. I am on monthly at $19/month. I day trade on Poloniex and most of the time (for the last month), it has worked well. I definitely set alerts and usually do my orders from Coinigy as well though I have Polo open too and go back and forth when necessary.

Thanks for this. It looks perfect for what OP needs. Also Looks perfect for my needs which I asked about in another thread literally seconds ago :/
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Compressed version of blockchain for new users? on: May 03, 2017, 07:44:00 AM
It might be an interesting service to provide a pre-pruned data directory for those that want to use Bitcoin Core but don't want to use up the necessary bandwidth to synchronize from the beginning.

Doing so would probably open up significant attack vectors since the user would need to trust that they were getting a valid blockchain, UTXO, and config file, but if a reliable trustworthy source could be found it would significantly speed up the process and reduce the bandwidth of starting up Bitcoin Core as a wallet.

Maybe you can offer such a download? You should sign it with your PGP key and upload it somewhere.

But IMO it would just be easier for people to use an SPV wallet.

I'm sure I could do an SPV wallet like Multibit etc. At the moment I have a lottery USB stick running on a solopool and wouldn't mind for fun/redundancy having the full blockchain local as a fallback and solo completely local except network connection. I'm definetely a hobbyist and such a long time away.
10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: May 03, 2017, 07:35:33 AM
Are they swtichmode powersupplies? As in do they provide 240V and 110V or just 110V?

You're terminology is incorrect, what you're asking about is Voltage auto sensing, not switchmode.
Was gonna say wth myself but resisted. So much for that idea... Wink

Ya. 'Switch-mode' refers to how the power is controlled. It is chopped on-off very fast and the average on-time determines power out. Very efficient. Often used for DC regulators but also applies to AC systems eg a dimmer switch.

The other way to to it is using Linear control. Very clean output but bulky and not efficient as the voltage difference between the DC feed supply and output is directly impressed across power transistors and dissipated as heat.

My bad! That's what happens when you have a few too many beers. I was meaning if the AC input side of these (I think I read that the powersupplies are included) are both !10V and 240V either with a physical switch or accept AC input voltages in the 100-240VAC range.

The miners look to be made well and the current one I have is hashing at almost 6.5Th.  The fact that these can be used on 110v power since they only use 900 watts or so is a bonus.  power requirements are 6x 6-pin PCIe power connectors (3 for each board) and my killawatt shows around 1000 watts, but you cant use my numbers as they only way I could power this with 110v (in order to use my killawatt) was to use 2 power supplies (1 for each hashing board).  So true power usage with 1 power supply should be closer to the 900 watts.

Are they swtichmode powersupplies? As in do they provide 240V and 110V or just 110V?
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: May 02, 2017, 11:29:30 AM
Really looking forward to the upgrade kit for S1s.... stupidly I still have one sitting around collecting dust. Is there a market for them at all other than as museum pieces hahah?
I have been holding on to all of my S1 and S3 miners just for the purpose of upgrading. I think we are getting close!

Yeah I just fired up my last S1 and even added the wifi connection. Really hoping one day to get it running again with new guts.
13  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Quantum computers to crack SHA256 - when will that become reality? on: May 02, 2017, 10:58:14 AM
I would be more worried about the security of my wifi connection than the BTC chain security.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hacking KNC Neptune / Jupiter / Titan miners back to life. Why not? on: May 02, 2017, 10:50:23 AM
lightfoot - this is a long shot, but have to happened to come across any Cairnsmore1 boards or Ztex that you have nursed back to health? If so I would be interested in buying a few for another non-mining purpose.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Compressed version of blockchain for new users? on: May 02, 2017, 10:18:02 AM
Good evening,

I've just gotten back into BTC. Is there a way to get the blockchain in a compressed form rather than spend the full 100GB on my data? I suffer from slow speeds and bad bandwidth caps in my part of Australia. Is there another solution? Or do I have to bite the bullet?
16  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] Blue Fury USB Miner, 0.90 or less per unit (Dabs) Philippines/Asia on: May 02, 2017, 10:02:35 AM
Hello.
Just came across this posts about the blue-, red-, ...fury USB miners. And I'm a bit curious if this miners are still in use? It's a kind of personal interest  Smiley

I'm sure I have a red fury somewhere in a drawer. I'm a bit of a pack rat but If I find it - what would you like to know?

18  Economy / Services / Re: CLOAKCOIN avatar campaign [CFNP] on: May 02, 2017, 09:35:19 AM
Is this campaign still available to join in on?

-snip-
The answer is yes, but because the manager only requires three members to join this campaign so there's no slot yet for new members but for sure if some of them remove the avatar I mean if they leave the campaign someone will be pick from the enrollee of this thread/campaign.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll keep an eye on the thread for future reference to join in.
19  Economy / Services / Re: QUANTUM PROJECT Signature Campaign(FULL) on: May 02, 2017, 09:29:23 AM
Is there a chance of a slot in the next round on this one? I would be keen to jump on board after reading up on Quantum.
