1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [POW] [MSR] Masari - private, untraceable, and fungible cryptocurrency on: April 18, 2018, 04:37:42 AM
ASICs are a touchy subject, but we shouldn't be fighting over MSR's upcoming PoW change. The problem with CryptoNote ASICs is the centralization portion, not that it's an ASIC necessarily. In the current climate, this would mean that basically two companies (as of this writing) would dominate the hardware market for those kind of coins, and is a bad form of centralization with arguable defensible positions.

Monero's current thoughts regarding ASICs is in the long term to commit to a specific PoW that will be integrated in lets say 2 years time (while committing to PoW variants on each fork until then), which would give fair market competition to develop ASICs, and not cause centralized "secret" mining as what happened with Bitmain.
The Masari community is indifferent to this position, since it may be conceded that ASICs (or FPGAs at the very minimum) are inevitable and only measures are needed to ensure decentralization. However, we may diverge from this and include in our roadmap research on an entirely new ASIC/FPGA-resistant PoW if deemed necessary.

@Cryptomaxsun I've seen you comment and discuss on this forum since early days. Putting the ASIC flame war aside (which includes other people), I'm confused why you'd resort to throwing ad hominems at the community (falsely saying it's not intelligent) and misrepresenting the roadmap (since we have clear reachable goals in the horizon, publicly shown on the home page https://getmasari.org/ ).

Good discourse on here is promoted, and there is always good discourse happening at our Discord, which everybody is welcome to join (https://discord.gg/sMCwMqs ).

Thanks for the explanation. Learned a lot right here.

Looks like TradeOgre may be getting ready to add Masari

The wallet started showing up today in my account: https://i.imgur.com/fHetQIp.png

Just tested a deposit of 1MSR and it was successful. Looks like they're using integrated addresses and have a 0.1 MSR withdrawal fee
This is good Cheesy

I have been following this Project from quite long time and this project looks quite interesting. I have been holding around 1000 IOP coins. We need some positive news to reach new highs, I would like this coin to see around 0.01 BTC in 2018.

Hopefully we will achieve this in 2018

That would be a dream. Don't think it will go that high now. From what things are -  It may reach upto 0.0009 this year.
Anything above would be too much.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2018 and CPU Mining Guides on: March 16, 2018, 07:04:34 AM
If I have around 200 h/s from a CPU What should I be mining... Currently experimenting with $ARTO and $XMR.
Considering long term $XMR seems to be very strong...

thank you Smiley
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Wanchain - Connecting blockchains to exchange value on: January 10, 2018, 07:30:16 AM
also seconding the above post... anyone with experience have a strategy here? it seems common for coins to dip up to 25-50% from ico price... $wan obviously has a ton of hype and so not sure it will happen. what is that price range we should be looking to buy when it hits an exchange?

Minimum $5 to $10 would be my guessing.

At least $5 . This will be big for sure. Too much hype around it.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL][ETN] Electroneum Mining Pool with a 0% fee on: December 22, 2017, 11:37:37 AM
What is expected payout on 100 H/s here?
Anyone making any etn's here?
12  Local / Mining (India) / Alt coin mining - All that time and investment worth the pain ? on: December 22, 2017, 08:47:12 AM
Me and two friends of mine are thinking about trying to mine.
Can you suggest which coins will be profitable and what setup to go for.

We live in North so temp is around 30 to 45 during summers and from 20 to 5 in winters.

We want to ourselves assemble a rig of 10 GPu like Radeon rx 480 8 gb
Is that good enough or we can get something better ? something economical and profitable.

Our total bud get is around 3.5 to 4.5 lakhs.

There is a voltage issue in our area - I think we can fix that with voltage stabilizers.
Sometimes there is a power cut of 5-6 hours like 1-2 days a month.
In summer it's 4 hour cut everyday. Are power cuts a big issue?

I thought to take some advice from experienced people here as how to proceed with this and is it really worth all the pain.
 Cool

Please don't Pm just reply here with your suggestions. Whatever we buy and decide to go ahead with - I will post pictures here.

Thanks guys!!
