Thanks for your answer.

So I can just wait and hope for now.
2  Bitcoin / Armory / Are there *serious* plans to support hardware wallets? on: February 02, 2016, 07:56:57 PM
I've bought a hardware wallet (Ledger Wallet) to gain an acceptable level of security for my bitcoins and I would like to use it with a full node. To support the net as well as for privacy reasons.

Is there a chance that Armory will support hardware wallets (in my case especially the Ledger Wallet) in the near future?

Thanks in advance.

3  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum+Ledger NANO. How? on: December 22, 2015, 09:24:29 PM
After a few more tries - some removings of the token and restarts of Electrum (which hung up two times and could only be abborded via Taskmanager) - it works now. I have no idea, what is different now, but well, as long as it remains working, that's fine for me.

After using the token with the chrome app, I have to close the app and to remove the token from USB. Then I have to insert the token and afterwards to start Electrum. Then the PIN request comes and afterwards it works. (I'm sure, I've also tried it like this before (without success), but now it works as expected.

It reminds at the work-around strategy for Windows to shutdown and restart to solve certain problems. That's not a satisfiable strategy for computer specialists, but it seems that it solves this problem too (hopefully permanently).

Another user, similar problem ... at least partially.

First I've got the same problems as described before.
(Windows 7, Electrum 2.5.4 (pre-build), Ledger Nano, works fine in the chrome app)

After a reboot - windows told me so after installing the ledger driver, even the chrome ledger app worked fine withour a reboot - the error situation is slightly different.

New Wallet
  -> Restore ... & Hardware Wallet
  -> Ledger Wallet
  -> failed (No device ...)

New Wallet
  -> Create new Wallet & Hardware Wallet
  -> Ledger Wallet
  -> Request to enter PIN (Number of tries)
  (Wallet created, public keys seem to be imported)
  -> Device not found (Watch-only mode)
  (existing Transaction was shown)

Any ideas? Hints? Something to try out?

5  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Wallet on a USB stick? on: December 19, 2015, 07:45:41 PM
You could set armory's data directory to your flash drive. It would have more than just the wallet file though. That would include all of the logs and databases that armory generates in addition to your wallet file.
Thanks for your answer.

I'm not quite sure if it's a good idea to put the whole subdirectory (about 50 GB) with the armory database on a USB stick. The startup of armory is already rather long and I don't want to slow it down to hours.

BTW: I found the "wallet.dat" is in the bitcoin directory which is about 60 GB large. Or is the wallet not in "wallet.dat" but somewhere else?

6  Bitcoin / Armory / Wallet on a USB stick? on: December 18, 2015, 11:18:43 PM
As far as I've read the discussions here, hardware wallets are currently not supported by Armony, right?

Is it possible to store the armony wallet on a USB stick? I don't mean a backup. There are already some ways available. I want to protect my keys from being stolen by detaching the stick as long as I don't want to use the wallet.

Is this possible? And how could I do this? (I didn't find it in the FAQs.)

Thanks in advance.

PS: Hardware wallets would be a much better way as soon as they are supported. But for the intermediate time I would like to have a kind of work-around. (The solution with two computers - read-only & offline - is not an alternative for me.)
