2  Other / Beginners & Help / Secure email services?? on: September 09, 2013, 01:38:26 PM
I heard today to the TV that the "N$ A" normally hacks into Gmail. Does anyone know of any good secure email services?

I probably need to check out the bit message thing too.

Thanks

Thanks

That's way too hot to be going that slow.   I used afterburner for overclocking an fans.  Good luck, your going to have a LOT of tweaking ahead. You should be at least at 700kh/s and no more than 75c tops

Thanks for the feed back. It helped a lot.... Hows This?

Day 4 (I know there's still room for improvement.)

How can I get GPU temperature from the Windows command line for AMD Sapphire Cards?

Thanks

ok thanks I'll do it now,

I not gutsy enough to leave my Rig unattended yet. I can access it remotely over https using a Lantronix SpiderDuo KVM over IP http://youtu.be/978cSi_SG-o?t=15s From work.

Can you tell I'm an IT guy Smiley

When I first started mining ltc, my temps were around 75-80c. The temp slowly kept rising till they were in the 85-87c range!

I just started mining yesterday for the firs time ever, I'm mining LTC with 2 7970s.

I was going to ask what is a good temperature for the GPU to be at, but you answered that. so..

I'll ask you did you install the Sapphire "TirXX" application?? I've been able to control the GPU Fan speed to keep the temperature of my card under 80c.

I haven't pushed them to hard yet I'm at 516Kh/s per card.

Ok, I think I'm figuring it out  Grin...

2x Saphire 7970 w/6gig ram  = 1264 KH/s & I think I can get to 1500 KH/s

This article is the holy grail for 7970's in LTC mining
https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/blob/master/SCRYPT-README

I googled "invalid nonce - HW error". googles my friend  Roll Eyes

WINDOWS: Open cmd prompt and type
Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

What does this do??

I found this answer.

The reason this is crucial is that too high an intensity can actually be disastrous with scrypt because it CAN run out of ram. High intensities start writing over the same ram and it is highly dependent on the GPU, but they can start actually DECREASING your hashrate, or even worse, start producing garbage with HW errors skyrocketing. Note that if you do NOT specify an intensity, cgminer uses dynamic mode which is designed to minimise the harm to a running desktop and performance WILL be poor. The lower limit to intensity with scrypt is usually 8 and cgminer will prevent it going too low.

To me this answer is kinda crazy because I am running 2 7970 with 6Gig NVRam Yes I know they are a waste but the explanation that they are running out of ram kinda makes me laugh.

um I'm new.

I just copied what was written down can you give me an example of how to make those changes?

I think it's because I was using a wireless card after switching to Ethernet cable I'm getting less errors.

BTW 2x 7970

That worked but now my hash rates are way lower than I should be getting.  Cry

I'm new to mining. Is it normal to see a "invalid nonce - HW error" msg while mining?

Thanks

Sorry for this beginner question but I recently bought a 7970 card to do GPU mining are both power plugs on the card needed??

I'm asking because I cannot find any trace of the Card in windows 8 even after loading the drivers. I even downloaded the Sapphire TriXX program but it cant find the card.

Thanks
