Im suprised the world Governments haven't started to step in yet. Bitcoin is the only true "virtual currency" that was made specifically for transactions, unlike other stuff like Linden dollars who's primary purpose is a gaming enviroment. Also btc's main transactions were blackmarket drug and gun markets.

When this gets bigger expect the big politicians to be mongreling fear and paranoia, and saying the word "terrorist" repeatedly in speeches to put pressure on the community, while the Government creates it's own specialized miners in their science labs to take over the whole scene.

I bet the Feds think you are all growing pot or something.

If anything it should stabilize the economy and make this a more "serious" currency as not every teenager with a gaming rig will be able to pull more bitcoin out of thin air.

BTC is starting to reach a critical mass where small businesses are starting to accept it. Soon it will break through to mainstream and the value will skyrocket like Gold did from the 1980's-currently.

And this is one bubble that could only pop if the Government decided to outlaw bitcoin.

I'm sure there are people who already have good seller reputations that won't want to get marked as a scammer over $10 in btc.

Actually I'd like to change my current offer, and just purchase 1 btc worth, at current rates compared to USD.

usually takes me about 3 days.

The first 50% happens in a few hours, then the last 90% goes on forever. Really can't wait for this to be optimized.

Paypal is risky but if you don't mind, I'll go first with someone that has rep.

Trying to sign up with a monthly subscription that accepts bitcoin.

Or if there is another form of payment you'd prefer, I may be able to do it.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So, what happens when bitcoins stop being produced? on: October 19, 2012, 01:44:14 AM
btc has done nothing but gone up in demand, with the exception of when Mt Grox got hacked.

With minners gone and small to medium sized stores accepting bitcoin it will only make it stronger
