1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - 2n Gen. CryptoCurrency build from SCRATCH on NODE.JS - NEW CODE! on: December 01, 2014, 02:45:13 PM
I'm new to running the node client on linux (via raspberry pi).  I followed the instructions on the doc page:

https://github.com/nodepay/Docs/blob/master/Instructions.md

How do I know the client is running correctly (ie. no stuck blocks, it's up to date & open, etc)?  I can see the %cpu running high and the db file sizes increasing.  Any log files or gui option?

EDIT: Was trying to install NodeCoin on Raspberry Pi but I have now found the link below and got it working!

Found this - https://github.com/nodepay/Docs/blob/master/Instructions.md

What version node.js did you install?  I read that you have to use a version with the "linux-arm-pi" in its name.  I'm looking on the http://nodejs.org/dist/ site.  The latest with the "linux-arm-pi" name is v0.10.28, but the github doc says it uses dependencies v0.10.29+

Or, do you know of a v0.10.29+ for linux-arm-pi located somewhere else?

Also, how much node have you been able to forge?

So how are the payouts made for the dice game?  Let's say someone does the Martingale system (ie. doubles his bet after each loss in a row) and eventually ends up betting a large amount.  What covers the other side?

Payouts come from the coinbase, so you'll go broke before the house Smiley

For the lottery, I understand the coinbase as the "pot" that everyone puts in to play.  When the numbers are drawn, the rewards are distributed from the 0.85 x pot.

Is this the same coinbase definition for the dice?  If so, then if only two people play and one bets 1 LTS and the other 0.2 LTS, how much would the 1 LTS player get if he wins?

I also use Tor when going to the forums here.  Please remove me as a sock puppet.  I'm labeled as P56 and here are the other P56 "sock puppets" w/ the line # in the spreadsheet.

I'm on line #153 which is the first of this group and way earlier than these others.  I've been registered on bitcointalk.org since October 20, 2012.  I don't post a lot because I usually find what I need on the forums.

I just PM'd my NODE account to koop4u.  What is the penalty since I'm two days late (haven't been on forum past few weeks)?  And how long to see it on the spreadsheet?  Thanks.

Yeah, hotmail seems to work better with hotspotshield turned off.  Still playing with it.  Thanks for the input.

hotmail - doesn't handle attachments using Thunderbird and couldn't send my public ID key using attachments or a simple cut/paste.

Hotmail handles attachments very well in Thunderbird.
And I just sent an encrypted test mail from my Hotmail and it worked. Pub key attachment included.

Thanks for the reply.

Which version of Thunderbird are you using?  I read that hotmail had attachment problems after version 3.*.*.  I have version 16.0.1.  Also, are you using a VPN client like hotspotshield while using Thunderbird?  I have hotspotshield enabled.

I'm a newbie, so restricted.  Eventually I want to move it.

I'm trying to use Thunderbird and Enigmail (windows 7) for sending encrypted messages via GPG.  But the email providers I've tried haven't worked 100%.  Is there one that works best for Thunderbird or for another GPG interface?

The following are the email providers I've tried and the result:

Hushmail -  need premium service.  Kind of defeats purpose of being anonymous.

vmail  - kept getting "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender", saying my IP address is blocked to prevent spam, even though I tried sending from my home IP address.

hotmail - doesn't handle attachments using Thunderbird and couldn't send my public ID key using attachments or a simple cut/paste.

fastmail - can't send mail because doesn't allow SMTP (outgoing server) unless you upgrade to their paying service.
