Hi all,

was just looking back to previous months that have similar total pool PH and see that the pool was getting numerous blocks per day with similar PH,

yet now we seem to think a good day is 1 or 2 blocks found..

Finding it hard to believe how bad our luck is recently.

Hi

All I am looking for is some info, your last post still doesn't actually give info, up to now I have read that ..

on may 3rd that you were hoping for yesterday (2nd may) but it will prob be the day after (4th may) ,

on may 6th that your testing and that your just re-syncing the wallet..

and now 48hrs later, almost 9th May and I asked for an update, and in your answer It seems like your kinds ranting at me, giving me CAPS when all I want to know is what is happening, cause it isn't good to sit here and wait and wait.

As far as I can tell your sitting on a queue that's not been paid out for about 4 to 6 weeks, and to be honest if I had realised that before I started mining, then I wouldn't have mined.

Whats amazing me is your response, Ok, life gets in the way, crap happens, but your sitting on roughly 120k of BTC that it seems had already stopped wasn't getting paid out to miners even before I started to mine, and since I started there's been 7 more blocks, Ok you say that the total of the queue BTC hasn't grown up in the last 24 hrs, its still at 286BTC, but its showing that I have to still wait another 12 blocks from now, I only started with a 7 Block wait, and those have passed, so a 12 blocks more wait does make it feel like I am going backwards.

I took the advise of some other users and did more mining to see if it bumped me up the queue, all it did was make more btc in the queue that is owed to me,

I am sure there's not just myself would like to know, but what is your timeline to paying out, following on from your last posts which implied or stated that your re syncing to make the payments, when will they happen, sorry if this makes you uncomfortable, but the only person I can ask is you, you have the answers, no-one else.

Its been I think about another 48 hrs since your post,  can you give any more detail on the time to payout ?

I have done some more mining, didn't just give up, and currently have 0.9+btc in your queue, but the queue still seems to be getting bigger, when what I was due was at 0.3btc it wasn't so much an issue, but as it now climbs towards a full bitcoin it does focus the mind a little, and the current queue and payouts do not seem, on the face of it to have started to diminish.
5  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [14000Th] Eligius: 0% Fee BTC, 105% PPS NMC, No registration, CPPSRB on: May 06, 2016, 03:45:16 PM
Famous last words: I didn't expect it to take this long!

I didn't give up, i even pointed 500TH at the pool for a good period of yesterday, so with that extra work, I am currently showing as having about 0.5BTC in the queue,

But I am still just going backwards,  It started off around the 26th april with a queue in front of me that was 180+BTC and an estimated 7 block wait, now its saying 287+ BTC are ahead in queue, and an estimated 11 block delay, but the pools found 5 blocks and if the queues BTC is correct, then at least to me it doesn't look like anyone's had any payout maybe in the last 11 blocks? or maybe from this same weekend last month..

Do you have anything you can update about what is happening.

Thanks

Last Saturday I posted asking for info on payouts, originally I stopped mining because I mined part of the time before the 26th April Block, and I thought I would get some payment when I got past the basic queue entry amount, but then a few days later the system still said I had 181BTC and 7 Blocks to wait, so I stopped, Then I checked when I posted on Saturday and it said there was 210BTC and 8 Blocks in front of me in the queue, and today I checked and "there is 261.03297392 BTC are ahead in queue, putting this user's payout after a 10 block delay."

I know that the answer at the weekend was, that new software is on the way and it will be cleared soon, and I understand doing stuff in spare time with a full time job and a family, but t I am still going backwards, its only about .3BTC but at this rate....

Maybe I didnt understand something, will have to re-read the payout system or the posts again..

The payout queue is a bit long at the moment because I've been doing some back end work that has made it more complicated to do a manual payout at the moment.

I'm confident I'll be at a good point where I'll get that knocked out within the next 24 hours and clear the queue back to one block (normal).

Hi

I had worked out in my head that the time I mined with a 7 block wait from your blocks page might take weeks to payout, so I decided it best to point elsewhere, didn't check on the stats for a few days then today saw I had gone backwards, but if its normally 1 or even 2 blocks till payment then I could live with that ... If normal is just 1 block, then I would be happy to start mining again

Thanks for the reply

Hi Guys

I only mined a few days last week for the first time on eligius, I stopped and turned off because it wasn't until the third day I started to read about when I would get any payout, and it seemed to me that it would be ages, so I stopped, at that time the stats page was telling me that I had 181BTC in the queue before me and that it would be about 7 Blocks until I got my payout, which I thought was to much for me to wait, today a few days later I visited to check on progress and it now says there is 210 BTC or about 8 blocks till my payout

Help, How can it be that I go backwards?

If you stop mining your payout priority decreases, also other miners can join the payout queue.

its unfortunate but I cannot go weeks without getting paid, and even before I stopped the stats page suggested it would be 7 blocks, which was way to long for me, and now its 8 blocks because I stopped, thats a bit of a catch 22 isnt it

Your answer suggests that as I have stopped, I will probably never get my small 0.3 BTC, I am already going backwards, how do I checkout or figure a date for possible checkout

Kano -

I have seen before, where you have acted on suggestions on small changes to the website, and so I would like to suggest a small edit.

Could you link the blocks page, where it shows  confirms +XX into the "Mining Rewards" page, so that the rewards that have not yet been fully confirmed are maybe a different row colouring, I think most people will probably do like myself and click into the rewards page, and then back and forth into the blocks page, while trying to figure which rewards are not yet fully confirmed

I understand that the rewards and blocks page don't always match the payments actually sent, as I know you do that manually, but I think if the top few rows of the "mining rewards" page reflected not confirmed / confirmed, then it would be a helpful change.

Hope this hasn't been suggested and spoken about before...

Steve

PS. thanks for the comp btc, I reinvested it, and luck was with me as I had 100TH rented for most of the last 5 days which I then rolled over and over and so gained a few extra bits from it.

We have lost close ~300 miners whats going on?

those last two long blocks were so far under PPS that my guess is most of the missing miners couldnt wait around, was to sad about it to work it out, I glanced yesterday evening and saw that for about 48 hrs we either lost all the work in about 11 shifts then 60% or 80% of the work for a whole load more shifts.

Hopefully our block finding will average itself out a bit, I had been renting about 50TH at low rates for about a month, but I gave up during those two blocks.

Back to the basic hardware 8TH again for a week or so while it slowly brings my funds back up.

looks to me like the smaller time of the 5Nd means that we lost a few shifts,

Is this the first time that the 5Nd hasn't covered the time the block took to find?

Hi

Kano, Apologies if this turns out to be the most stupid post of the month so far.

I am just getting my head around how the pool pays by PPLNS, which while I have mined here I have seen the 5Nd period drop from 192hrs to 34hrs as the pool grows.

Never really considered this before today, because I haven't had to sat through a tough block that exceeded the 5Nd period, but I think this block hrs will be greater than the expected 5Nd payment period, which if I understand it, means were only going to get 1/5th of the payment for the last 36+ hrs, and we will loose out on any % payments that we didn't already receive from the previous found blocks, so that for some of the previous blocks we will loose 80%, 60% or 40%  of the expected payments should we have continued at the expected 100% rather than this maddening 480% + block that were struggling with.

The only good thing that I can see is that the previous found blocks which we will loose the payments were all quite close together so the loss on previous payments is not so bad, but if we have another bad block as the next one, then we would be loosing 80% of a lot of hours work from this current block.

Is there a point when a pool hash rate gets larger, 20PH+ or whatever, when it hits a point when the 5Nd from the PPLNS actually works against the miners, because the smaller and smaller hrs of the 5Nd period and any bad luck wipes out any benefit of trying to even out the payments by using the 5Nd, is there a point when a pool gets to a larger size to actually run PPS, so to pay for the work done as its done, and then no-one ever looses out on the bad blocks that can over-run the 5Nd period and cause the loss of previous work done.

is PPLNS always best for any sized pool, or is PPS better for a certain sized pools.

If this is a stupid question just delete it

Steve

Its been over 6 hrs and a deposit of BTC into my account wallet is still showing as pending with 0/2

Is there an issue, it is not normally this long to wait, and my rental need to be refilled..

What hurts the prices is when 'somebody' rents like 3-4PH and raises up the prices, throws the profitability off for everyone (including themselves) and hoses the pool luck also.
How exactly do you think they're "hosing the pool luck?"

Hi thedreamer,

I don't think any rent hash can ever 'hose the pool luck', for any pool receiving any rented hash is good hash, at any price that a person paid for it.

When someone rents lots of short term TH at a higher price it does suck the life out of all the other peoples lower priced live rentals, like now, my own 0.0036 rental just started to dry up, as the miners that were filling the small rental all shifted onto someone else ,who is currently offering 0.0039 for 6.3PH of rental Hash, so all those people like me who are now running dry, if they even notice, will probably end up offering higher btc to get the hash back, and that runs the rental price up  making it tougher to keep the mentioned "wiggle room"

Maybe what your seeing as bad pool luck,is that all the people renting at the smaller rentals are actually the more sensible kano miners Smiley so that a short term high value, high PH rent stalls a whole load lot of smaller but sensible priced kano.is renting

I accept that to make it work renting, Kano.is would need to have and keep the same good luck, and I have found that the slower days hurt, but with the pool at the higher recent total PH, the slow blocks are still quicker, we got to 250% and 300% on recent tougher blocks in single day or just over, rather than the 3 or 4+ days it took when the pool was hovering at 2PH to 3PH.

amazing how just a few weeks have seen the pool speed up

One or two more in the next 30 min's of today would be good, make it a 10 block day
