2  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANNOUNCE] New Bitcoin Exchange - Zenbarter on: October 27, 2012, 09:46:50 PM
We are pleased to announce the public alpha test of the Zenbarter electronic trading platform:

https://www.zenbarter.com

ABSTRACT

Zenbarter is a market-oriented electronic currency exchange which functions similarly to Wall Street exchanges such as the AMEX, the NYSE, and the NASDAQ. However, our system offers the option for any listed currency to be traded directly in terms of any other listed currency. Additionally, there is no middle man. You execute trades directly on our exchange, not through another exchange, broker or third party.

There are currently no fees for our service. There is no charge for entering or executing an order, and because trades execute here instead of another exchange, there is no markup or "making the spread" on our end. We are neither dealers nor brokers.

ALPHA TEST

Steps to participate:

1.  Register an account.

2.  Send an email with your username to zenbarter@yahoo.com to receive fake money.

3.  Please send feedback, bug reports, etc. to zenbarter@yahoo.com.

Please note that we are not accepting real money at this time, so actual bitcoin transactions are disabled.

ISSUES:

- Be sure to force the https protocol, otherwise you may have issues with missing graphics and css.

- Microsoft Internet Explorer forever causes headaches for our developers.  Your mileage may vary.

- There have been issues with missing graphics and css with some browsers (Internet Explorer, Safari).  The problem seems to be related to the SSL certificate, or mixed-content (http/https).

Thanks for your participation and support!

When I first read the subject line I thought it would be about the best way to protect data from a government raid or something like that, LOL.

12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CPU Mining? My GPU sucks. on: October 25, 2012, 07:40:45 PM
You will use much more in electricity and wear-and-tear on your machine than you will make mining on a normal cpu.

2. Can I really trust bitstamp with my money ?

Never trust anybody!  Or, as Ronald Reagan said, "trust but verify."
