Are these machines set up with a public IP address (I'd like to run a low-traffic web server on one), or perhaps a private IP with the option to have a public IP/port forwarded to the virtual machine? Thanks!

Are these accounts ready to start a droplet, or do they need a payment method added before they become usable?
If they're ready to run, I'd like to buy one.

Indeed, transaction fees have made Bitcoin obsolete for small transactions. You're quite right in that regard. However, a number of alt-coins have much lower fees, and faster resolution, ideal for buying a cup of coffee or whatever low-value spend you might have in mind.

From my perspective, Bitcoin is not much different than US hundred dollar bills. If you've ever held one, in used condition, there's no telling how many illegal transactions might have involved it in the past. If run thru a scanner, it will most likely bear traces of illegal drugs. Is that the fault of it as a fairly anonymous currency (of course, a US$100 is not truly anonymous due to the serial number, nor is a Bitcoin transaction). Bitcoin is merely a new form of cash, usable for anything from the purchase of an automobile with all taxes paid to something ridiculously illegal.
I have little experience with the dark web, but from what I have seen (mainly gun sales), the sellers tend to stick to the letter of the law, no matter the form of payment. I've seen plenty of guns for sale for BTC, but they, just like USD-paid items, require legal delivery to a FFL (in the US) and an identity check upon pickup. I have no experience in the drug world, but from what I understand that would need to be shipped to the customer, providing an ideal opportunity for law enforcement to jump in at the time of pickup. I don't think at that point it would matter how it was paid for. And as for CP, that may be a more lucrative market, especially with privacy-enhanced altcoins and digital delivery.
So, is BTC inherently enabling for illegal operations? I think not, probably no more so than any fiat currency currently used for illegal activity. And given the scrutiny given to really large BTC transactions to fiat, I think it might even be less so.

From my perspective, bitcoin is an internet gold and as we know, we can not make small transactions, micro transactions with gold. Therefore, it is time for other cryptos to rise and become a good online payment for micro transactions
This. There is a good place in the crypto world right now for altcoins, many of which (DOGE comes to mind but there are many others that can fill the need) can transact small amounts for a very reasonable fee (much lower than traditional CC transactions that are constantly accepted as the price of doing business for convenience stores, etc). All we need is for large-transaction merchants to deal in Bitcoin with the possible addition of smaller cap cryptos, and small-transaction merchants to embrace a range of the more popular small-cap cryptos. Would I gladly pay a DOGE in fees to buy a soda? Sure. Would I pay the equivilant of USD$20 to make my soda purchase happen fast in BTC? No way. There is a symbiotic relationship between BTC, the larger altcoins, and the smaller altcoins. Certainly, not all coins in circulation today have a future, but there is a place for a number of cryptocurrencies in the financial world of the future.

Well, after a bit of a scare related to the well documented password-problem with MultiBit HD, I now have access to my wallet again (0.3.0 MultiBit HD, Linux). However, as I prepare to empty that wallet to avoid such a problem in the future, I noticed that the maximum fee that I can set in preferences is 50000sat/Kbyte. This doesn't seem like nearly enough with bitcoinfees.21.co currently recommending 450sat/byte in tx fees.
Am I doing the math on that right? If so, does anyone know of a way to pay more in fees using that MultiBit HD wallet? Going to another wallet isn't really an option as I don't have the seed for the one that is running now, and just need to get the BTC out of it and quit using it. The bitcoinfees.21.co chart indicates that transactions paying 50sat/byte may be confirmed in '45-1020 minutes'... I can deal with such a delay, but am concerned that it might never go thru.
Any advice or correction to my logic here would be greatly apppreciated.

I have about 10 of these available. They are not the same UV laminate, so they would not last as long outdoors or in direct constant sunlight. They are better used for indoor purposes or inside cars etc. If placed outside you can expect them to last about 6-8 months in direct sunlight before fading. They are $1.00 each plus shipping. I am very interested in buying 5 of these from you. What would the total be for 5, shipped to the US? Assuming it isn't a lot more than $5, just send me the address to send payment to and I'll do so right away. Thanks! -coiner2048

I'm active in Second Life, and a few years ago was rather disappointed to see the powers-that-be disavow exchanges that let users trade Bitcoin for L$. If you'd like to buy and/or sell Linden $ for Bitcoin (or DOGE, or ETH to make it faster and save on transaction fees for smaller deals), please let me know. Since LL made it a TOS issue to do business outside their approved exchanges, please do not post any SL usernames to this thread. You wouldn't want this to come up if someone were to Google your login...
How to set up a buy/sell: Reply to this thread to indicate your interest, then PM me with the details of the exchange you'd like to make.
Except in the case of people with very high trust ratings and/or very old residents of SL, I will ask that you go first on a deal. I'm always glad to split up a deal to reduce risk, and would welcome escrow from a SL-experienced trusted member here.
Thanks! -coiner2048
