Went for The Pirate Bay. Let's see if anything comes out of it.

Edit: Also went for the Swedish Pirate Party (http://www.piratpartiet.se/).
3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to create a PULL request on: March 28, 2011, 03:16:09 AM
I think it's possible to do something along the line of:

Code:
git remote add bitcoin git@github.com:username/bitcoin-git.git

Then you'll only need to do:

Code:
git push bitcoin branch_name
git pull bitcoin branch_name

You can also add a commit message by using the -m flag:

Code:
git commit -a -m "Check out my awesome bugfix"

This way you won't end up in Vim (and freak out). This is more usefull for shorter commit messages though.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: Too many mics not enough MCs - the drop in BTC value on: March 28, 2011, 02:23:22 AM
But seriously its a lack of goods or services.

Yes, this is spot on. Bitcoin could come a long way just catering to just people concerned with personal integrity (especially on the Internet). There's a rapidly growing amount of those these days, especially over here in Sweden. But there has to be real goods and services for them to buy.
5  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bounty for translations of the Bitcoin article in Wikipedia [upto 23 BTC] on: March 27, 2011, 06:44:35 PM
Instead of waiting forever until translations are 100% perfect, which makes no sense since we have a lot to improve in the original English article, I'll start rewarding the bounty now for those who have provided a decent (or better) translation. At the moment, that means everyone. If someone makes further improvements, specially after the English article gets better, and the translation turns out to be a really good article... then it would be time to reward some extra bitcoins.

So, these are the rewards:
  • TiagoTiago. Portuguese. 4·log10 678890 = 23.327. Sent to 1FmvtS66LFh6ycrXDwKRQTexGJw4UWiqDX.
  • foxmulder. Indonesian. 4·log10 158104 = 20.796. Sent to 1Cxa2JZ1CE4DUSLtg3j7xaNBNiqjbjQtcG.
  • niooron. Spanish. 4·log10 742798 = 23.483. Sent to 1HFFY7CtnXGceMvv9a6AQNTgyAu9ySd3Mb.
  • Zulu. Swedish. 4·log10 391484 = 22.371. Sent to 1Ko9yVjydbqnMFFex1CYAP2krS76e7GNs5.

Bounty received, thank you. I've rewritten parts of the Swedish article during the weekend, brushed up the references and changed some of the overall structure etc. I've also had some suggestions on how to improve the grammar from two Wikipedians which I think I've dealt with. Hopefully the grammar flag will be removed in the near future.
6  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Getting the Bitcoin Wikipedia article to the Good or Featured category on: March 26, 2011, 04:12:46 PM
As I said in the other thread the article is a bit messy as of now. It contains a lot of repetitions and the technology isn't explained very well imo. I don't think you get a very good understanding of what exactly a block is for instance, what it is that makes the system work and what it is that makes it secure. And tech isn't explained in very much detail. For instance: what encryption algorithms are used?

I also think that the article needs to push the economic aspects a bit more. Maybe even putting the 'Economics' block above the 'Technology' block. Right now my feeling from reading the article is that Bitcoin is all about people mining for coins and the use of bitcoins for trade being only second nature. Which might be true as of now to some extent but not the purpose of Bitcoin as a whole.

I've tried to change some of this for my Swedish article but it's hard when most of the sources used is about the tech. Hopefully this will change over time as Bitcoin matures and finds a larger user base.

Edit: Someone just commented on my translation that the lead paragraph doesn't explain the purpose of Bitcoin very well. This may also be true for the English article.

Article translated to Swedish by me (http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin). Same username there as here, Zulu.

Looks good from the point of view of references, links, format, markup, categories, etc. Although, I see it's been marked as needed grammar improvements by the user Imperto. So it might need some work yet.

Yeah, I just noticed. I don't think it's so much the grammar (hopefully) as it is the use of some English expressions and such, which is really hard to avoid when it comes to technology in general. I'll look over the article more closely during the weekend.

Article translated to Swedish by me (http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin).

Could you add some relevant categories to the article? Otherwise, looks pretty good!

Added a couple that seemed relevant.

Personally I found the English article to be quite lacking. I'm not sure you get a good understanding of how exactly Bitcoin actually work from reading it. It also contains a lot of repetitions. I also think the article needs to push the economic aspects a bit more and be a bit more self-critical. Right now it's mostly about the tech, which is, to most people, rather uninteresting.
