Little sideways trading for a while would be nice. We could catch our breath at least. I have some open positions in alts that I would love to get out of before the last block reward is mined.  Angry
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: ♨♨♨ Bitcoin DOWN OVER 10% Today!! ♨♨♨ on: December 10, 2017, 03:24:01 AM
I don't feel a bit sorry for the jack asses that drove the price to such a ridiculous high. This will hurt mainstream adoption for a while.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bitcoin CRASH is coming! on: December 08, 2017, 05:45:35 AM
Meh it's a correction. The ecosystem of bitcoin is not ready for this kind of action yet. That's why we have exchanges going down and 200k+ transactions waiting for confirmation. I suspect it might go to 12k then sideways for a while.

Just ride up in altcoins until the craziness stops and get more BTC. Markets correct sometimes. Its what they do. If you don't understand that you should probably get out either way.

Just my 2 satoshis, but this thread and the website kind of reminds me of Bitcoin Trader and PB Mining. They were paying out regularly until they weren't.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congress plans to regulate cryptocurrencies on: September 07, 2017, 08:41:24 PM
this is one of the problems of the US government, they all just want to take your money, even your bitcoin. I do not understand why is it no yet legalized in US, since it is also a leader in information technology, or is it just because they have a lot of consumers,  making it look like they are on top. This move will just create pandemonium on their country, one of the reason why bitcoin was created is to have an alternative currency that everyone could use, since their inflation rate is so high, and we should also consider their national debt, their country is not that stable, it just seems to be stable due to the media creating a lot of distractions to more important news. I think if all Americans would find out what is happening to the world because of them, and not giving a blind eye, they would see that their government is trying to manipulate and control them. They should be weary that most powerful nations in asia are mining their own bitcoin, and in time the value of their bitcoin would surpass that of the western world and there will be a change of power. I can see that this plan of their congress may happen and there will be consequences, what they need to do is think twice or otherwise.

The US government has not represented the people for a very long time. We pay lip service to the idea of being a government for the people and by the people but the political oligarchs look after the financial oligarchs and vice versa. War is big business, bad food is big business for the huge food companies and for our pharmaceutical industry. The average American is just along for the ride.
8  Economy / Services / Re: real work for bitcoin on: September 07, 2017, 08:28:24 PM
It seems very interesting and promising project. Unfortunately i'm not a US based citizen to join and see if its like you say it is...
If though you start/expand this to EU,just let us know about it.
Good luck for now,i will watch this topic of yours for any updates and feedbacks from members that will join this from now. Cool

I know they do some outsourcing with people in the UK for sure. I have never looked into what kind of process it would be to get contracted and whether there would be enough work to make it worthwhile. In the US there is a constant flow of work and it is probably the same for other places I have just never looked into it. I will see what I can find out. As a US based contractor I might not even be able to hire outside of the US. It kind of depends on employment laws in each country I would guess.

...
This is legitimate work from home for pay in the form of crypto currency. I won't moderate the thread but please don't spam me or call me a scammer. If you have questions please ask.

**Edit** Forgot to mention that training is online via a virtual classroom.

I am not sure anyone would call you a scammer since you haven't asked for cash here. They may callnyou a time waster if they end up not achieving anything from the supposed training. Anyway, I wish you luck in your endeavour.

It's pretty simple. If you complete the training you to go to work. If you don't finish the training it probably is a waste of time.
I have done work with this company for years. I have MS so I have to work from home. I have sold Apple products, done tech support for major cable providers, sold cruises for major cruise lines and even sold pest control services.

The work is there if someone wants to do it.

where company ?
where youre site ?
where youre product ?
how much pay rate if work for you ?
The company i contract with is in Miramar Fl.
I do not have a site of my own but the company that facilitates this has a portal through which employees select hours, log in to work, and attend training classes.
There is no product. This is a service provided by myself and my employees.
Rate is the crypto equivalent of 8-9 usd per hour.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congress plans to regulate cryptocurrencies on: September 06, 2017, 08:26:22 PM
'Congress submits bill making it illegal to hold cash, Bitcoin, or other assets outside of a bank without informing them in writing'

https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-bill/1241/text#toc-idea0e9489fc8f46379f95bb56c8bbbda5

What is your thoughts on this ? Could this happen ?

the section you quote has NOTHING to do with crypto

"digital currencies" are things like a coinbase DOLLAR balance, or a loyalty card DOLLAR balance or a paypal DOLLAR balance... not crypto

The fact that the bill specifically references tumblers (mixers) makes me wonder if that is the correct interpretation. Coin Center did put out a blog that suggested that the bill was largely redundant in regards to existing law. However, the blog also played up the worries around declaration and seizure of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin:

Quote
Coin Center also honed in on fears that digital currency holdings could be subject to declaration and seizure at the US border, with Brito noting that, at present, the bill calls for a report on how customs agents might approach this process.

https://www.coindesk.com/coin-center-us-senates-digital-currency-bill-is-counterproductive/

Its kind of a double edged sword in that respect isn't it? By requiring declaration the government implicitly endorses bitcoin as a legitimate store of wealth. Right now anyone that knows even a little about bitcoin knows how to move coins around as they travel.
13  Economy / Services / real work for bitcoin on: September 06, 2017, 08:10:51 PM
Hi!
I am doing a little pilot project as a proof of concept to pay people for real work in bitcoin. I am contracted with a company that provides remote customer service and sales by phone and internet chat for major US based companies.

This work is for companies whose name you would recognize. Essentially the company I contract with would pay a set hourly wage to my company. I would in turn convert earnings to bitcoin/ethereum and send your earnings out twice a month. In the interest of transparency yes I do get paid something for the hours you work but I only get paid when you work so it is in my interest to support you as much as I can.

You would need a windows 10 or later computer for most clients, a high speed internet connection, and a dedicated phone line. There is some work for Mac owners but those opportunities fill very quickly.

I realize I am new to the forum and to you so I would escrow a certain amount each pay period with a trusted individual who will disburse the funds based on reports of hours worked.

Is this something that would be of interest to people here? The pay would be the equivalent of $8-$9 USD an hour and there is a minimum hours per week requirement. The typical requirement is 15 hours.

There is a 4 week training course that is unpaid. This course is usually 4 hours per day with some homework. I realize unpaid training sucks but that is the way it works. I am paying for your training class seat so there is no need for any upfront btc or fiat and I will never ask for any going forward.

At the end of training you take a certification exam online and do several mock calls then you are free to select hours and start working. Payday will be every two weeks.

I will start with a few individuals to go through the training provided that they provide honest feedback here in this thread about their experiences.

If interested send me a pm and I will send you an e-mail address for a resume. You can remove contact information from the resume if it makes you more comfortable.

Requirements:
You must have a clean background. No felonies.
Have your own computer
Be able to acquire a dedicated phone line
Be available for 4 hours a day for training (no absences permitted)
Be a US resident (in the future there will be opportunities for people in Europe but I have no eta on this)

This is legitimate work from home for pay in the form of crypto currency. I won't moderate the thread but please don't spam me or call me a scammer. If you have questions please ask.

**Edit** Forgot to mention that training is online via a virtual classroom.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People hate Bitcoins? on: May 15, 2016, 07:46:02 PM
I wouldn't say hate, but I have definitely fallen out of love with it. The current bitcoin world has way too much in common with the fiat world. The vast majority of wealth is in the hands of a few who are hell bent on protecting themselves even to the point that it squeezes out new adopters and makes the barrier to entry in any significant way impossible unless you are all ready wealthy. The bitcoin world is teaming with human genetic debris whose sole purpose in life is to separate naive people from their bitcoins. When this happens we toss out a few ready made phrases like "if you don't own your private keys you don't own any bitcoin' as if that actually helps anyone.

We treat new people like morons and insult them at every turn. We use some arbitrary forum ranking system and use it to punish people that are guilty of not much more than wanting to be where some of us are.

We speak in flowery prose about how bitcoin can end wars, cure cancer, solve all of the worlds ills but really all we have is yet another oligarchy that pays lip service to liberty and freedom and humanitarian goals but in reality is just another self absorbed oligarchy that uses group think and economics to preserve itself rather than political power and violence.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy Hacker identity incoming - pending bounty on: January 21, 2016, 02:47:10 AM
This corruption, bounty, blackmail, extortion, theft, illegal activity shit is driving me away from bitcoin. I dont know about anyone else but I've had enough now.... Cry

That and the fact that it is dominated by a few people in seemingly every important way.

Is this the new incarnation of bitcoin trader? They were supposedly based in London and did not operate on weekends either. Be careful with your funds.

trying to sync up my wallet and have been stuck for 3 days now @ Wed Sep 30 17:58:40 2015.  blocks : 665942

version: v1.4.17

wanted to export my transactions but it'll only do the 1st entry.  Is that due to wallet not being fully sync'd ?

A few pages back is the bootstrap file that dooglus updates weekly. It will shorten your sync time to hours rather than days.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623147.msg9772191#msg9772191 is the bootstrap post.

I update it whenever I remember it. The last time was about 12 hours ago I guess, so it's pretty up to date.

I don't know why the client gets stuck syncing the chain over the p2p network, but numerous people have reported that it does.

Xploited is working on a new version of the client which will hopefully fix the problem.

Thanxs.  Am I correct in thinking that in order for export to work, wallet needs to be sync'd?

I believe so. Someone smarter than me can chime in, but I am fairly sure you can only export transactions that have all ready posted to the wallet. Any that have happened after the last week synced won't be available.
