2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Artemine ICO and Minereum Price - 1000% ROI? on: September 02, 2017, 09:24:58 PM
What you guys think the price of MNE can reach?

They are launching the artemine ICO and on day 1 of the ICO they will price 10 MNE = 1 ETh.

That's putting MNE almost 10 times above current price of about $4!

This is the exchange rate info that they provided:

Whitepaper: http://artemine.org/ArtemineWhitepaperDraft0.2.pdf

More info: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1867535.0

Are you guys joining this one as well?

Buying MNE now seems a wise decision, I already got my stack  Grin
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Artemine ICO soon (Minereum 2.0) - They will launch a ICO Factory on: September 02, 2017, 09:17:30 PM
I came across Artemine ICO recently, a new ICO to be launched by the Minereum Team:

http://artemine.org/ArtemineWhitepaperDraft0.2.pdf

What you guys think about it?

I see a lot of potential on this, they are planning to make a ICO factory that will allow people to make ICO contracts.

What I find fascinating is that today they have the Token Creation Service where people can make ERC20 Ethereum Tokens, but seems very few people know about it:

http://tokenservice.minereum.com

This thing actually works I did already several tokens just for fun, I mean is just amazing, props to this dev team Smiley

lol seems this is gonna get big. $10,000 per coin? OMG

Possible considering 42-coin example: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/42-coin/

And they really don't have a community, now imagine 300 Token with a massive Spartan Army lol

Can even get to $100,000
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / My response to Wadhwa from the Washington Post article "'R.I.P. Bitcoin." on: January 19, 2016, 04:15:04 PM
About this article: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/innovations/wp/2016/01/19/r-i-p-bitcoin-its-time-to-move-on/

Hello Wadhwa,

I read your article in the Washington Post with surprise.

I heard you talk many times before and you seemed like a fair guy.

However with this article, you just lost all your credibility, and just shows how little you know about bitcoin.

First of all, about Mike Hearn, he tried to impose on everybody bitcoin XT, which was a version of bitcoin intended to hijack the bitcoin core.

The community rejected him and his project, and because of this, he had the rage quit we all saw.

Also, just to show you how "Core developer" Mike Hearn was, you can see his contributions to the bitcoin protocol here: https://bitcoin.org/en/development

If you do a CTRL+F on that website, you will find Mike Hearn in the end of the list with 3 corrections, while top developers have 3000 and 1000, so this is just to show you how insignificant Mike Hearn is.

The block size increase will happen and it will be done by the Core developers consensus, inline with the community, not by one guy that wants to hijack bitcoin.

If you want to hear a valid opinion of what is going on in the bitcoin World:

https://medium.com/@bramcohen/whiny-ragequitting-cab164b1e88#.w7s7vid2j

Now regarding other comments you did about bitcoin, such as:

"Bitcoin was born with serious flaws."

Which flaws? the need for consensus for changes?

Decentralization?

Not being subject to Governments, laws, taxes?

"It was unregulated and provided anonymity, so it rapidly became a haven for drug dealers and anarchists."

My God, how stupid can one be to write such things. Let me ask you this: do you know what is the currency most used for Drug Trafficking and all the crime around the World? Do you? It's called U.S Dollar.

Why don't you make an article saying RIP U.S dollar, as almost ALL the crimes in the world, Billions, Trillions of U.S dollars are flowing in the crime market?

And you know what? The U.S dollar is anonymous too. If I give you a dollar bill in hand, no one will ever know when that dollar bill was transferred to you. Can you trace that? At least with bitcoin all transactions are written in the blockchain, can be verified by everyone. Transparency. What is the transparency of the U.S Dollar?

"A tiny committee of five core developers that controls the Bitcoin codebase has become the Star Chamber that guides the future of Bitcoin."

Those developers are aligned with the community and take decisions with a consensus in the community. Take them as the 5 ministers of bitcoin. If you look the the U.S government or any government, the guys on the top of the chain are also few.

Does that make all governments a failure?

" And, with the majority of Bitcoin being owned by the small group that started promoting it, it has been compared to a Ponzi scheme. "

By that view, the whole World is a ponzi scheme, as the top 1% own more than the rest 99%.

"Exchanges built on top of it also had severe security vulnerabilities."

Oh, sure. what about the $1 Billion dollar heist in the banking world?

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2011-08-04/hackers-take-1-billion-a-year-from-company-accounts-banks-won-t-indemnify

I could write more, but to be honest you are not worth the time.

So good luck with your 10% ROI yearly on your S&P investments ;-) Ah, wait, I forgot everything is collapsing now. No worries, wait 10 more years and you may recover all your losses, with 1 to 10% ROI.

I'll stick to my bitcoins in the meantime, with a ROI of 38500 times since its creation.

You will swallow all your words about bitcoin, time will show you how history is built.

Enjoy the U.S Dollar.

Regards,
Samus.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin Classic" is a classic attempt at a hostile takeover on: January 19, 2016, 02:17:50 PM
Again we have another "we must increase the block size ASAP" fork crap - under the most stupid name "Bitcoin Classic".

It's a "classic" alright - a "classic attempt to FUD people into letting a small bunch of wannabe Bitcoin overlords take over the project".

The blocks are not even nearly full most of the time (apart from attacks which are just spam being used to fill up the mempool for FUD reasons).

The reason that people don't use Bitcoin for normal txs is "why the hell would they?".

Even if a vendor were to offer a cheaper price for paying in BTC you still have to change your fiat into BTC to purchase from them (and then most likely BitPay or another provider is going to take at least 1% commission).

If you don't purchase your BTC via an exchange (and no average person is going to do that to just buy something) then most likely you are going to pay at least 5% commission - so if you are ending up with 6% commission - did you save anything from using a credit card?

Also you can't get a refund if you pay with BTC - so the masses are not screaming to pay with BTC at all (far from it - if it cannot be reversed then I suspect 99% of people would not want to use it as certainly every person I have spoken to does not like the idea).

Can we stop with the FUD and let the project just continue to improve the tech?

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Hearn lawsuit on: January 16, 2016, 06:39:24 PM
Considering the brevity of Mr Hearn heavy handed, disgruntled slanderous public opinion I do wonder if any lawsuits will follow.

I personally could care less. My Satoshi are my Satoshi regardless of current prices. And more importantly my Satoshi are in no way tied to any if the world's problems and liabilities.

But fundamentally speaking anyone publicly dumping 100% of a world platform security followed by slandering, which resulted in a 20-30% market cap drop (as of this minute) usually gets the attention of regulators.

And that's without consideration towards other powers or interests losing patience.

Rule #1 don't mess with other people's money.
In Mr Hearn case that would be, you were better off shutting your big mouth because it likely comes at a price selfish people are never willing to pay.

Emdebted to regret in the least.

He was already killed, nevermind about that clown.

Are really fantastic actions and videos such kind of behaviors from the community of believers of bitcoin. Make me laugh each of two videos even I think that will not be so easy to resolve the problems of bitcoin. The problem is not much in bitcoin itself (even it has its problems) but at the organisation of the team of core developers. If would be a leader which can decide at the end of every discussion nothing would be happen. Nor today and neither never. There will be always problems every time would be strong divergences within this team without a leader. Cannot be possible to be all in the same point always. It is normal this and even is needed. Otherwise cannot be development. The discussion bring only good. But discussing without end give as result only destruction. For this needed the leader. To decide in such kind of "independent choices or thoughts" which can persist and cause such situations. I vote that Hitler be the leader of the core developers. As I can see from the videos he know very well everything about bitcoin. As for the leader.... no one can tell that is not able to do such role....  Huh

Gavin should be the leader. After all Satoshi named him, so what's the issue here?

Agree everything. And really thanks for such videos. Make everyone to feel better. Especially not only the followers and believers of bitcoin but even the investors in bitcoin that don't have their coins on their wallets (in order to decide what to do) because have invested those. Anyhow it will be enough that this mess finish. As for being leader Gavin or someone else (including you Wink ) has not even the minimum of importance. But I don't think that Gavin is able to play that role. He was chosen ("nominated") to be so and he didn't exercised this role. The spread of codes gave by Satoshi only to him gave to him the same status of the others. But even this have not importance. The leader is not a dictator (so even if Gavin have not given the codes to the others might be again unable to play such role - for example wanted to dictate and not to lead - so would be again problems) but someone who is chosen with the consensus of everyone to lead, to tell the last word, to make decisions in the name of all the others. I remain at Hitler.... It is the best choice according to me.....  Cheesy

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stupid question - Why don't we just compress the blocks? on: January 16, 2016, 02:11:41 PM
Are you sure about that? Wouldn't something like gzip applied to the blocks reduce their size by like 99%?

Yes - gzip won't do much at all - why don't you try it and see for yourself?

Which efforts are going on behind the scenes exactly?

Things like SegWit (you could search to find out if you're interested although I suspect you're just trying to age your account in order to qualify for an ad sig).

Yes I was doing some checks, only about 25% gain with compressions like gzip, 7zip... so doesn't help much.

Thanks for the info.

Looking forward for that SegWit.

Any plans for a release date on that?
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stupid question - Why don't we just compress the blocks? on: January 16, 2016, 01:59:15 PM
instead of all of this discussions to increase the block size, why don't we just compress the blocks, leaving the size as it is?

Blocks consist of transactions that for the most part are effectively random numbers (such as hashes, public keys and signatures) so they simply won't compress much at all (as you can't in any sensibly usable way compress random information).

The efforts that are going on behind the scenes will make a much bigger difference than any tiny percent you could compress the content of a block.
