The sites monetized, it's an attempt to drive traffic for monetary purposes to the owner.  While that's not a bad thing at all, just understand the primary driver behind any and all links.  When in doubt, right click "Copy Link location" and paste into your search bar.  Notice the ads within the site.  That will tell if if the destination is sincere, of if it's an affiliate or advertisement.  Nothing wrong with profiting, just understand what your clicking, does the site deliver useful info, then proceed.

Hi I'm smallbits, and I have some useless comments to make now and again.  Actually I'll try and contribute the best I can.  If you can appreciate honesty, despite it maybe unpopular, I'll be more than happy to contribute.

First, the four hour rule is rough, I just leave myself logged in for four hours (as I'd guess many would?).  However, the minimal post count is understandable, I've tried to contribute something worthwhile for the most part, I'm not a bot. Smiley

I've recently been introduced to Bitcoins through a friend.  I've researched, while it seems complex, I think it might be a little later in the game to participate, I don't know yet, especially with these Butterfly Lab machines coming on market, to supposedly change the way everything runs.  I'll be taking a more wait and see approach I think, however, I think Bitcoins is very promising, if not mining, perhaps investing, or for diversifying assets.  While I am new, I don't put much regards into the Butterfly labs opportunity.  I use to be a scam prevention specialist for online activity over the years, and there's some things that don't make me feel easy about this Butterfly labs situation, especially their pre Jan 2011 history.  It's absolutely going to be wait and see, but it would never be my money I would risk given what I see.

Cheers folks.

I'm in favor of any valuation in addition to fiat.  All fiat currency in the history of the world has eventually failed, the USD will be no exception.  Whether you hold value in fiat, commodities, bitcoins, or other, I believe diversity is best.

yes, and it would also violate Paypal's TOS re digital goods

Actually this is incorrect.  It's not a violation to sell digital goods through paypal (at least wasn't for a very long time), there's simply not a protection policy for digital goods through paypal for either party, meaning by default, often the seller will win many or all disputes showing claim of a digital product sale, ESPECIALLY if you show a pattern of success and consistency.  While Paypal isn't siding with the seller because they are deemed the better party, it had often been because of the lack of protection, default judgement for the seller simply due to lack of policy.  I've sold many thousands of digital products through Paypal over the years, rarely a dispute lost due to unethical individual disputes if ever, and unless policy has changed since that time, that has been their official stance, and of course, all things could change over time.

"only" something around a 100.000 left

Wow, this newbie really missed the boat on Bitcoins.  Only over a million left.   Cheesy

I was a little curious looking at their website, while it claims to have been an active domain site since 2003, they didn't have any active control of their current domain at least prior to Jan 2011.  I feel for such a big investment this is turning out to be, and for as little history behind them, and for all the questionable possibilities, I'd rather wait and see before ordering.  I wouldn't put my money on the line for sure.
