1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Matchpool - Creating Human Connections on: April 18, 2017, 09:12:51 PM
You can clearly see that the way Matchpool has been handling things has been terrible. This only raises red flags and exposes the inability of Matchpool's team to deliver anything.

They claim to be offering a Matchpool Refund, but once you send an e-mail to the address provided, this is what you get from "Liam":
"On the 30th of April, please send your Guppies to my Ether account below. I will then send you your Ether back within one working day. "

Are you kidding me?.. This is how you will deal with the refund?.. Who the hell is this Liam kid and how do I know I won't be scammed twice by you guys?.. Will Matchpool be held accountable if Liam does not deliver the ETH as promised?

He could just put up a buywall..

Why is nobody thanking Gleb?
I'll start: Thanks Gleb for doing due diligence.

Funny how the list of ICO's you mentioned (Humaniq, Wetrust, Taas) all rang big bells for me, more intiution than anything.
You know how often you'll have these companies with VC investors grow really big and the investors want to cash in? They'll go public and dump on the public.

So for this ICO (BCAP) the first question that popped into my mind was:
Let's imagine I have a FUND which invests into different startups and I want to either cash out or just get rid of my bad positions. Wouldn't it be great if I could just find a group of random anon people on the internet eager to buy the stuff I want to dump? If only there was a thing like an ICO.. oh wait there is!
So my question is how can we be sure this isn't what's going on here? Please clarify.

Also as per list of questions to ask an ICO:
1) Is there a prototype or code?
No because there is no software to release
2) Where do the funds collected in the ICO go?
No answer yet
3) As for people involved, advisors don't count, yet I see a big list of names that "liked"  the project, or advisors
4) are they building a community around their idea?
No
5) Is this idea something that could not be done without blockchain tech?
No , it already exists, ETF's, stocks, hedge funds, etc.

They ONLY part that requires a blockchain here is the ICO itself. Funny.

I can't imagine why people are still replying they want to be part of this ICO. DOn't you guys read the thread?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Matchpool - Making Human Connections - ICO FINISHED IN 33 HOURS!! on: April 05, 2017, 09:33:00 PM
I think they said they already sold 12.5k eth for btc. Also they might have done it p2p and not exchanges

Sorry for asking, I can't read 1400 pages and see if the question has been asked before (altough I did search):
- Is there a way to see a how much of the raised capital Iconomi has spent and how much is still left? Also I saw some annunciations about Iconomi already buying into a few startups, is that done by buying into the ICO's as well? If so, is there a way to see the actual balances that Iconomi holds?

The reason I ask is, even though Iconomi seems trustworthy, except reputation, what keeps Iconomi or any other clone ICO in the future from just doing an ICO, announcing buys/sells (thereby raising the token value) but not actually doing any buying or selling whatsoever?

Thanks for reading/replying.

So it IS still under dev then?

Too bad it's not open source, but then it would negate the use of the coin

I don't get it. You need X amount to use the software, that's what gives the coin value. But when enough people buy the coins to use the software, price goes up. Eventually so much that the 1000 QTL needed will be too much of a cost for someone to invest in; ie the software will get more expensive to use, which is not a problem for current users, but it will deter new users.

The option of reducing the amount needed isn't viable as well, as that would make people dump their excess, driving the price lower, negating the reason for the requirements adjustment alltogether.

What's your view on this?
