2  Economy / Speculation / Re: 285k+ unconfirmed transactions: How will affect Bitcoin? on: December 22, 2017, 07:37:38 AM
A large % of the unconfirmed transactions are micro transactions, like 1 satoshi. It’s a coordinated attack my those running BCH.

Yup, it's precisely that.

There are an alarming number of transactions like these - https://blockchain.info/tx/50af90e80e3acfb78bc62f6837d22bec7f0024b5d1d2263f08af6d473a1999f5 clogging the pipe.

Of course some miners are in bed with the people behind BCH to let this happen.

I wish there was a way to drop all these micro transactions (below $5) from the mempool altogether. I suppose it would clear the queue by about 70% if not more.

I'm looking at that block chain you mentioned, but even though the transaction was small they still paid $29 to send $0.38 cents.  Why, I'm not sure, and this transaction, because they paid close to 700 sat/byte got confirmed.  I figured if they wanted to clog memory pool they would send a transaction with a really low fee to remain unconfirmed.  Am I missing something here?  (and yes I am really new at this so please be patient with me for explanations, sorry).

That still goes into mempool for once. And then the miner would pick that transaction over others because of the fee (or because they already have details of these microtransactions and are only picking up these over others, until someone with a genuine transaction wants to pay a higher fee). So it is a win-win for the miners and the others involved in this.

By selecting transactions like these over genuine transactions having same fee, the miners are basically pushing everyone into paying a higher fee to get picked, thereby making the entire reason to transact in BTC more and more unviable.

I took the liberty of pushing it trough my node, so it's in blockchain.info's mempool again Wink

Thanks man!

Any clue how many times it should be rebroadcasted?

I am willing to pay a higher fee. But idk how it can be done. And the way these two transactions are stuck, idk if they will ever go through.

No problem... There is no harm in rebroadcasting a tx every couple of hours, altough it's only actually necessary when the biggest part of the network dropped the tx from their mempool.

Paying a higher fee is tricky. It can be done if you marked the tx as replacable when you created it, altough i'm not sure if the multibit gui already implemented this feature. You could also doublespend the inputs and generate a tx with the same output, but i think that's a very hard thing to do using multibit (since it does not allow you to export your private key, nor allows you to pick your inputs).

What you could attempt is a CPFP: generate a new tx using the unconfirmed outputs of those tx'es as inputs (or the output to your change addy). In this new tx, make sure the fee covers both the old tx and the new tx. This is also a longshot tough, since the miner has to do the effort of calculating wether he could get more fees by adding a low fee and high fee tx to his block.

A last option would be to contact quickseller or macbook-air or kano on  this forum and offer a reward if one of them includes your tx'es in a block they're currently solving.

Seems complicated, and yeah, multibit is pretty restrictive.

I did contact a few people. I hope they could help me out here. I don't mind paying a little more to get these done.

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How many times to rebroadcast? on: November 24, 2016, 10:04:46 AM
So I have two transaction stuck due to low fees for like 48 hours now. Dropped off blockchain as well. I use Multibit.

I managed to get the hex from another site for one of the transactions and rebroadcast it. For the other one, I can't find the hex anywhere.

Here is the one I got to rebroadcast - https://blockchain.info/tx-index/61ca2e9348fff4166cf25a1144f7fb1fffa0da468992d29c2682ffec19adace2
The other one - https://blockchain.info/tx-index/66c0479bf5788ece1ee086bab04bc524c3f17a358e19f6206afa3808cff4a54f

I am not sure whether the first one could get confirmed soon still. Should I be rebroadcasting it regularly?

And can someone please rebroadcast the second one for me? I just can't find the hex for it..

Windows 10 Pro - $25

-----
Also selling Office 365 (5 PC/MAC) for $17 per account.

16  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-11-01]Bitcoin Price $800 Imminent; Boosted by China Capital Outflows on: November 03, 2016, 04:46:47 PM
Here oh here. All those betting it to breach $800 are again going to lose their monies. Even if it does reach $800, it will take a long time before it gets there given the sharp crash in prices today.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is CHINA CONTROLLING Bitcoin? on: November 03, 2016, 04:40:29 PM
The current price of Bitcoin is very high because of China's large pump into buying Bitcoins and the fall in value of Yuan. Just today bloomberg stated that China is again preparing to impose curb or Capital controls on Bitcoin by restricting domestic exchanges on sending bitcoins abroad and setting of quotas on how much can be sent. Considering this the price of Bitcoin may stand a chance to fall again.

Although it sounds impractical and impossible to do, this news might be the major reason for sudden drop in BTC today.
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Payment Gateway that allows Credit/Debit Card on: September 30, 2016, 07:57:38 PM
this debitcard service include bitcoin service is much
you can try advcash xapo and more
or you can try reputable service, you can try netteler include debitcard and you can hub your account paypal
and support bitcoin deposit and withdraw

Neither Advcash, nor neteller has integration for shopify or opencart yet.
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Payment Gateway that allows Credit/Debit Card on: September 30, 2016, 03:40:29 PM
By your own admission your product has legitimacy issues.

No. The product is fine. The manufacturer has a paranoia about anyone selling it though. Have you heard of the term VeRo at ebay?
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Payment Gateway that allows Credit/Debit Card on: September 30, 2016, 02:05:03 PM
So let me get this straight.  You want someone else to take ALL the risk for you.  They take all the chargeback risk and they are on the hook for any issues related to the legality of you scheme.  Good luck with that.

You may not be a scammer but you sure sound like one,

If you are legit simply sell your product or service then buy Bitcoins on a legit exchange.  Easy.

I am legit. The product is legit. But paypal is an ass with Copyright issues and stuff associated with that product.
