I have a few labs of computers at my school at my disposal for mining,
You are allowed to use those for the purpose of converting the school's electricity into bitcoins for personal financial gain?   Have you gotten permission (in writing, to be safe).

Yep, explained the whole thing to the administration and they're totally cool with it (surprised me, too).

When I say I'm trying to stay up to date with the latest mining gear, I mean it. Already put in an order from BFL a few days ago Cheesy The labs were just a good way to get started, the gear from Butterfly Labs is what I intend to use mainly once it gets here.

Hi there,

I would really like to be promoted to junior member. Here's why:

  • I know a lot about public key cryptography and how it relates to Bitcoin
  • I'm learning a lot about the newer Bitcoin mining trends, including ASICs (already preordered a Jalapeņo from BFL)
  • I generally form coherent sentences
  • I'd really like to be a part of the community and get involved with the mining forum. Though I'm fairly new to Bitcoin, I don't ask stupid questions and I pick up new things quickly.

For these reasons, I kindly ask that I be promoted to junior member.

Thanks for your consideration.

Hi BCF,

It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm pretty new to Bitcoin, but I'm already hooked. I have a few labs of computers at my school at my disposal for mining, a pretty decent working knowledge of BC (always learning though), and I'm really trying to stay up to date with the latest mining gear. I'm not really in this to make money. But I think you're all on the forefront of something pretty big here. You'll see me around, I think.

Thanks for the awesome community.

Your friend,
Bash

I'm pretty new to bitcoin. I'm learning a lot and have several labs worth of computers at school at my disposal (interested in mining). However, I just preordered an ASIC mining chip from BFL, and hopefully that will give me a good start with some of the newer mining related gear. Doing this very casually... I'm more interested in bitcoin than in trying to turn any profits.

Bitcoin is a pretty amazing thing. It says more to me than just "Look! I took this thing and made it open source!" It speaks of what the world is turning into... a shared space. Open source is fixing so much of what's wrong in this world. I really want to be a part of this awesome community. Thanks guys.
