1  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTB] BTC for my $10 Amazon eCard on: December 06, 2016, 10:51:23 PM
Amazon.com? Any idea if that would work on amazon.ca? Also, I'd only give an offer of you could show the proof of purchase. I really don't want a carded giftcard  Tongue

I looks like I can buy an Amazon.ca gift card.  Want to try $10 CAD?

Maybe -5%?

The 20% of exchanges for gift cards seems too excessive.

(Market rate -5%) BTC for my $10 Amazon eCard (claim code)

I'm open to a few $10 transactions. I'm wanting to try alternative methods of  buying BTC other than coinbase.

Amazon gift cards is the easiest for me, either .com or .ca

Thanks.

Many thanks to the OP.  Based on it, I've revised the instructions for Ubuntu 13.10

Code:

//installing bitcoind on Ubuntu 13.10, run this commands on putty

mkdir ~/.bitcoin/
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude upgrade
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
sudo aptitude install bitcoind

Next STEP: Configure Bitcoind

Edit an empty ~/.bitcoin/bitcoin.conf file in the .bitcoin folder:
nano ~/.bitcoin/bitcoin.conf

Insert the following code in it:
server=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=INVENT_A_UNIQUE_USERNAME
rpcpassword=INVENT_A_UNIQUE_PASSWORD

press Ctrl+O to save and Ctrl+E (to exit I think)

Then, to start bitcoind write:

bitcoind

It will output "Bitcoin server starting"

The blockchain now will begin to download, to view the status of the download write:

bitcoind getinfo

Yup, look at California.  5K fee just for the chance to register.  there are only about 25 companies registered for the entire state (google, square, western union).

You actually make it sound easy.  So that everyone knows, it is not the Federal government that is the problem, it is in fact the states.

For an internet-based MSB that wants to service the entire US, said company must obtain 47 licenses.  Taking a look at just one, California, the company needs $100k-$500k in net worth alone; audited financials, owner(s) financials, surety bond and more.

Now do that 46 more times.

This is why only about 10 companies nation-wide have achieved all 47 licenses; such as Amazon, PayPal, and Western Union.

Congress is really needed to resolve this issue.

I still can't post.  Could I be whitelisted please?

I'd like to be whitelisted.  I'm not a spammer.  I'm wanting to post to the Currency Exchange board to convert dwolla funds to btc.  And I've already PM'd someone regarding buying as well.

Thanks for the great resource!

I also run an SMF forum, though not bitcoin related.  Hopefully this forum is using a plugin to prevent spam bots.  I've had 100% success with my forum in keeping them out.
