1  Economy / Currency exchange / WTB: BTC for cash, face to face in central UK. Regular transactions needed. on: October 29, 2016, 03:58:24 PM
I am looking for a regular buyer of BTC for cash in central England, UK. Price will be variable % under market dependant on the transaction size, the business will be regular and reliable for a reliable BTC seller looking to cash out without the hassle of banks, ID, know your customer etc.

Transaction amounts will currently be between 500-3000 GBP preferably 1 transaction per week. Transaction size will currently be between 500 and 300 GBP but this may increase in the future.

Please pm me if you are interested.

2  Economy / Speculation / price disparity between exchanges on: November 08, 2013, 04:16:42 AM
I'm no Einstein but I'm sure I'm not the only person who has noticed the BTC price disparity between 3 of the largest exchanges. Obviously the market is in constant motion but at this time the last trade on
 : BTC-e was 288USD.

: On Bitstamp its was 299.15USD

: On MT Gox it was 316.75USD

Why are people not buying coins on BTC-e and then sending them to MT Gox for a $28.75 per coin and then transfer the coins back to BTC-e? There's no commission on Bitcoin transfers so the only reason I can see for not doing this is if you don't trust Mt Gox to transfer the coins back to BTC-e.

Am I missing something obvious here?

I have done a case study that may be helpful to you: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=224015.msg2354422#msg2354422

My advice: don't do it. You'll make more money just buying and holding BTC. That's what I wish I had done.

Thanks for your advice, I will read through your thread carefully.

Cheers,

4  Bitcoin / Mining support / Newbie miner looking for advice on: November 05, 2013, 09:01:13 AM
Hi.

I have been researching the possibility of setting up a mining operation and I can see there are many pitfalls. I know the difficulty rate increases rapidly so it's impossible to tell exectly what my ROI will be or whether I will return anything because of the pre order system these companies employ but after looking at many units I am considering ordering a HashFast Sierra 1.2 Th/s for $6300. This seems like quite good value considering BFL would charge me $9,200 for 2 x 600 Gh/s Monarchs. Hashfast say they will start shipping in Decemeber depending upon your place in the order list.

I would really like some advice from you mining veterans, will any of these machines be shipped in time to make an ROI ? Have I missed the boat and should I just let the Bitcoins I already own just steadily grow?

I'd really appreciate any of you more experience guys could give me.

Cheers.

Hi, I am looking to sell 200 BTC for cash as soon as possible, today if possible. There is a perfectly legal and above board reason for my haste, my coins are 100% legitimate and mine to sell.

Willing to travel within reason, I live in Milton Keynes.

Price negotiable, cash deal only. Trustworthy reliable buyer, I've traded multi hundred coin transactions with 2 of the biggest UK buyers on this forum.

Post in thread or pm me offers.

This is an interesting point, if Bitcoins become too valuable they will become useless as a currency and will be just another finite commodity like oil, gold, diamonds etc.

The difference is although we like the whole Bitcoin philosophy and the way the system works what use do they actually have as a currency if they are worth $10,000 per coin. They'll just end up being part of wealthy peoples diversified investment portfolio's.

Sorry I didn't put an option on the poll for the price to drop, most people seem to think they're on the way up anyway but still I should have put some lower choices on the poll.

I'll keep the poll open as this is turning into quite an interesting thread, I'm enjoying this forum a lot already.

Im not buying Bitcoins to put away for the future at the moment, I posted the poll just to see what other peoples thoughts were.

I see BTC like any other commodity and with there being a finite number being produced as more goods and services are able to be purchased with BTC and demand rises I can't see why they would ever go down in value.

In fact I was I speaking to a professional investor and mathematician yesterday who considers BTC the number one best investment in the world at this time.

One man's opinion of course.

Patience indeed, when the little green icon in the bottom right corner turns green the sync is complete.

It takes hours and hours to synce even on a fast machine.
