BadgerHobbs

Take a look at the PMU output in your log. It is in there as Vi and vo Voltage in and out. Your V in is good on all 4 ports however your V out on ports 1 and 2 are way to low not providing enough power for 2 out of the 4 hash boards to initialize.

Hope that helps.
2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: February 17, 2018, 05:37:04 AM
Got this email from Steven Mosher over at Canaan on Wednesday. I was glad I missed the initial batches of these cause the prices were down right ludicrous. What Steven mentions here (I think) is still a bit on the high side but at lease it’s not outright crazy.

Good Morning Ku’ulani,

Happy New Year,

Our office is closed for Chinese New Year, but I will be working so please feel free to email me. Staff will return around Feb 25 to start shipping your orders.

It's time again to do a forecast. We use the forecast to decide who gets product, so it's important to do one.

You must have a current forecast. If you don't have a current forecast you won't be able to order. When customers do not complete their order in time the sales agents will turn to the forecast and select the next customer for the product.

PLEASE ENTER YOUR FORECAST HERE

For the 821  you can consider that the price will be below $2300 when we invoice you

Avalon 841:   The 841 will start Shipping in April. The performance is estimated to be 13TH and 1200 Watts. This is a Minimum Spec as we test all machines to perform at or better than the Spec. For Planning the price will be below $2500  on Pre order.

Office Visits:  Please contact  victoria@canaan.io  for office visits. The global team has moved to new offices so you will need updated directions.

3  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon6 Raspberry Pi 3 - help needed on: September 24, 2017, 04:33:44 AM
You do need the AUC2 and the 4 pin cable that goes with it. Once you got that assuming you have the correct Pi image for A6 - Pi3 it should boot right up and start hashing.
4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Quiet older miners? on: September 21, 2017, 05:30:05 PM
I got a friend running a pair of slightly under clocked Avalon 4.1's under his desk on an EVGA 1300g2. You wouldn't even know it was there unless you moved the desk and looked.

between that and the ant miner S3 not much else is going to be quite. they don't make much now days but with power being included in the rent like you said  they will still get something.
5  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Official group buy thread for avalon741 is closed no more orders! now frozen on: September 16, 2017, 05:25:27 PM
Phil, Canaan has images on there git hub off there main support page for A6. They have images for all 3 Pi's (Pi B v2, Pi2, and Pi3) Also I think it was ether Mark az(sp? Huh) or Kilo17 that posted the DHCP enabled Block C A6 image here on the forums from the group buys you did last time during there review.

something like that should work. And 12awg should be plenty for 1 PSU.

9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to build a rasp pi 3 for mining with your asic gear. on: August 20, 2017, 03:50:30 PM
Thanks for the great guide Phil. I'm sure it was a hell of a lot cheaper than the 100$ they want for there controller. Toss in a pair of good ol anker usb cables and a one of there 2 port USB bricks to power the thing and your off an running.

I have been running a pair of A741's since Feb. 8. And aside from a forced reboot ( power outage for 39hrs after a huge windstorm a couple weeks ago) they have been running just fine.  Couple of things I noticed tho maby others can comment on.

1. Mine don't have the voltage offset option like the one Phil has in his screenshots. It's just not there.

2. They start off slow and take a few hours to "ramp up to speed" but from what I have seen from others here that's normal for the A7's.

3. My Pair seam to run a bit above spec. but they also draw a bit more power to. All I have to go on for power measurement is a kill-a-watt pro so that could be off a bit as Phil has one that's a bit hot as well. I'm getting 1405w at the wall with a evga 1600g2 with an avg hash rate of 8.358th on 1 machine and 1389w at the wall also with an evga 1600g2 with an avg hash rate of 8.261th on the 2nd machine. Just a bit over the 1150w @ the wall with 7.3th spec posted by Canaan.

75THs at 1500W??  That's either epic or scam, and epic is in short supply...  Huh

Epic scam sounds about right.

14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: March 15, 2017, 09:54:40 PM
WiFi does work with the controller I just got from Canaan.io it appears to be based on a Pi3-B it is disabled by default. That must be what they mean by "No-wifi mode". There is a wifi section on the very bottom of the main overview page and its grayed out saying its disabled. I clicked enable and it asked me for an ssid. I hit the scan on that box the Pi gave me a list to chose from. I picked mine and it rebooted itself an took off mining. When I get off work i'll look what version Canaan has on the PI, as it came with a micro SD card with the firmware already on it.
