I don't believe it is fair to hold pre-orders in a way that in a way fakes it as if it is a real product sold online, knowing full well it does not exist. I think this practice itself is fraudulent in nature itself.

well, the intensity was set a -1 on the little machine that i am playing with. moving it to 5 raised the hash rate from 6Mhash to 10Mhash. moving it to 6 looked like it  caused the rate to drop a little, so 5 it is.

10Mhash/s? how do you get the Mhash ? ty

Did i mislabel? isn't Mhs, Mega Hashes? I've only been into this for about 2 weeks so it would be easy for me to mispeak.
eee, stop and reload..
you are talking litecoin? you are talking GPU mining?
may i ask how a tiny rig gives you Mega Hash/s? the top listed here is 7970(x2) in low megashas/s...
// i'm obviously missing something obvious. sorry about it.

heh, we are talking bitcoin GPU mining. If a good  video card can give 600+Mhs ( like a 7850), then a small rig churning 10Mhs isn't all that impressive. I'm not sure what you consider "low megahashes". everything is relative.
AHA! that was what i was missing. Yup makes total sense. TY for clarification. Since i'm looking into litecoin mining, then (apparently) the whole world can only talk about that %) only.Smiley

<gutted out to save space>
Where is this from and what do you want to know/what do you want to fix?

this is from litecoind daemon log file.
I just want to understand what is going on and what i need ( if anything) to do ?
for example:
 what does "CTxMemPool::accept() : accepted 46d7990963 (poolsz 37)" means? what is accepted and what is poolsz?
 what does "ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED" means?
 what does "force request: block" means?
 what does "getblocks -1 to 00000000000000000000 limit 500" means?
 what does "ERROR: FetchInputs() : 0f3a6ab0fb mempool Tx prev not found 0dfc0db223" means and do i need to do anything about this error?
and finally "stored orphan tx 0f3a6ab0fb (mapsz 38)?

this portion is something new - i haven't noticed before:
Code:
05/03/13 19:17:27 ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED
05/03/13 19:17:27 force request: block 8439de5375f48730c2e9
05/03/13 19:17:27 getblocks 346045 to 8439de5375f48730c2e9 limit 500
05/03/13 19:17:27   getblocks stopping at 346046 8439de5375f48730c2e9
05/03/13 19:17:27 getblocks -1 to 00000000000000000000 limit 500
05/03/13 19:17:29 Flushing wallet.dat
05/03/13 19:17:29 Flushed wallet.dat 22ms
05/03/13 19:17:30 CreateNewBlock(): total size 1225
05/03/13 19:17:33 getblocks -1 to 00000000000000000000 limit 500
05/03/13 19:17:39 ResendWalletTransactions()
05/03/13 19:17:40 Rate limit dFreeCount: 13685.4 => 13910.4
what is going on here? why is it "   getblocks stopping" ? and why esendWalletTransactions() ?
thank you!

a silly question - do i point a miner to the pool or i point litecoind to the pool and miners to my pc?
//totally new to pools.

Have you checked out https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php?topic=43.0 ?
yup.
from reading appears that i need to point workers , but i can't do that because i'm behind FW that blacks any traffic, but on port 80... Is there any solution for this case?

Yes, solo submits any share >64k on litecoin mining.

CK,
 does it mean i have to limit the submitting value? If so, what value it should be and how to limit it?
thank you

It's just reporting information. It's as if you went up to the counter to pay $88,800 for a new toy that costs $31,621,939 and the clerk said "NO!"

I think
ok. So why does it do it occasionally then?

Gents,
 i'm getting the following in daemon's log file:

05/01/13 02:53:10 askfor block 78476d7e335cc20fa24d   1367376790000000
05/01/13 02:53:10 ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED
05/01/13 02:53:10 getblocks -1 to 00000000000000000000 limit 500

I run cgimer by pointing it to the PC with litecoind running (solo)
Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o localhost:9332 -u user -p pass

I'm observing "New block detected on the network " message in the cgminer every 5 minutes or so. Hash rate is ~620Kh/s. I'm on HD 7970.
What does it mean for the current block miner works on - does it mean miner will stop working on current and try to get a new one?

thank you
18  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Need help building cgminer from git on Fedora17[update] on: April 30, 2013, 05:06:50 PM
GLIBC errors means that the OS version doesn't match the binary.
....
Also (but not the problem) your curl versions are very old

What it all probably means is that you will need to build it yourself.

realized that after i posted. Upgraded from 6.3 to 6.4 ( RHEL). But still rather old libraries.
I'll be building from git .
Thank you for you the help!

P.S. got it compiled.

Kano,
 i know this is the official support thread, and if you need me to move my post here i'll certainly do so. But by any chance can you please take a look @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=114974.0 - i thought it's more relevant to my problem. Appreciate.

I saw those and I can confirm 2.7.6a does work on F17 with the ATI HD6870 w/ the current latest driver+SDK+ADL. I'm currently running the one I built on my Ubuntu 12.04 server box. I tend to obsess about these little problems. I'm thinking the Fedora libcurl is the problem, is that why you resorted to building on Ubuntu?

I just find it a little sad that we can build this on Windows and Ubuntu but not Fedora (and maybe not on CentOS or RHEL either), I really want to understand why and try to fix it.
I build that 2.N.Na coz I'm the 2nd main cgminer dev and coz I GPU mine on a mining only rig - which is xubuntu 11.04 - and since other people use 11.04, and since my sig points to the linux install for xubuntu 11.04 for GPU mining Smiley

Aside: I build bitcoind on Fedora 16/17 without any major trouble

I'm trying to run pre-built  binary (3.1.0) on the RHEL 6.4 86 and getting the same error:
Code:
./cgminer
./cgminer: /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4: no version information available (required by ./cgminer)
