1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHEN YOU ARE CONFUSED REFER TO BITCOIN on: January 29, 2020, 03:24:55 AM
Bitcoin is probably the least risky of the cryptocurrencies because it's the most known and most tested and is the face of the crypto economy.  It's true that if you are going to invest in this space, you should look at Bitcoin as a first option.
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Full time trading is boring on: January 29, 2020, 03:20:40 AM
It is boring but diligence is needed if you want to make money,  Unfortunately there are no short cuts and the experts and whales are just waiting for us to make a bad move in the market.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is officially about to enter bull market, guys your thoughts... on: January 29, 2020, 03:10:12 AM
This is what I've been saying about the halving. We are so close to the halving right now that it is going to influence the price and begin a bull run.  I think the price will still show a gradual increase for a while and then next year do a more vertical increase as FOMO kicks in.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: How do manage portfolio efficiently while having a full time job? on: January 29, 2020, 02:19:58 AM
This is one reason why I only do longer term trading.  I can't devote the time needed to be a good day trader since I have a full time job, plus a wife and kids.  I have to just rely on good long tern decisions and hopefully it will pay off.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why are exchanges still listing shitcoins? on: January 28, 2020, 03:09:14 AM
I think that the shitcoins pay exchanges to be listed.  If that is the case, then it is in the exchanges interest to make money by listing these coins.  I would prefer that they decide not to do this. but it's their choice.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's over $9000! on: January 28, 2020, 03:06:54 AM
I think the psychological barrier of $9000 is officially broken and the price will move on toward the next one which is $10,000.  With the halving approaching, I don't think the price will move back down under $8000 again unless there is some major negative news that comes out.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin halving. on: January 28, 2020, 03:04:50 AM
At the past 2 halvings, the price of Bitcoin has increase dramatically.  I know history does not necessarily mean the same thing will happen again, but it just makes sense that as the mining reward decreases, the price increases.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On most altcoins disappearing on: January 27, 2020, 01:14:55 PM
I think some altcoins are beneficial because there are some that serve a differnt purpose than Bitcoin such as for smart contracts, privacy, microtransactions, etc.

I think that it would be good if the bad altcoin projects would disappear, but to be truly a free market, they should fail organically.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2020 price predictions on: January 26, 2020, 06:52:17 PM
Many of those are higher than I expected.  I was thinking a conservative estimate would be $25,000 by the end of the year.  I don't really think we ill break into six figure until about mid next year.
10  Economy / Economics / Re: Centralized exchanges have become the banks of the cryptocurrency world on: January 26, 2020, 06:49:29 PM
Centralized exchanges have the upper hand because there aren't any decentralized ones yet.  Or at least I don't think they are active yet.  I know that there are some in the works, but I think it could be this year before they go live.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Held a bitcoin seminar today on: January 26, 2020, 12:03:28 PM
It's a great idea to get the word out but most importantly education.  People need to be told what Bitcoin is and the purpose of it as well as how to buy Bitcoins.  Theses are things that the average person does not know.
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you start trading? on: January 25, 2020, 09:42:04 PM
I started with just a small amount of money and made very small trades.  I quickly learned that I should make even smaller trades because the price could move down after I buy or up after I sell and this would give me leverage to buy or sell more as the price kept moving.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Over? on: January 25, 2020, 07:43:45 PM
Bitcoin is just starting to come out of a bear market.  It has spent the last 2 years recovering from a crash so it takes time.  It's just at the beginning of some big moves and should get to new all time highs within this year.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: What set of conditions can crash blockchain or bitcoin to zero USD? on: January 24, 2020, 09:56:37 PM
I think the only thing that can bring down Bitcoin at this point is if everyone abandons Bitcoin for a better cryptocurrency that has faster transactions and lower fees.  I don't think this will happen, but to me it's the only way that Bitcoin could fail at this point.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is stopping the US Government from outright BANNING Bitcoin? on: January 24, 2020, 03:29:11 AM
I think it's too late now for them to ban it for a few reasons.  For one thing, futures contracts and wall street money have already started, so it's hard to reverse course.  Secondly, the US government seized the Silk Road Bitcoins a few years ago and then auctioned them off to the public.  It would look very bad for the government to auction something to the public and then ban it.
16  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-01-23] Exchange hacks on the rise on: January 24, 2020, 03:25:09 AM
Everyone is trying to get free money because if they get it, it's almost impossible to catch them.  You can most likely get away with the coins if you successfully steal private keys.  It happened to me with the exchange Cryptsy a few years ago.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Will Reach $400,000 After Halving, History Dictates on: January 24, 2020, 03:20:51 AM
That price point seems to make sense if you look at the last halving.  However, I prefer to be conservative because there may have been other factors at play in 2017 such as the futures contracts that may have helped the FOMO along at the time.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrencies have won with court in India – for how long? on: January 24, 2020, 02:17:17 AM
It's good news and another step toward Bitcoin going mainstream in the eyes of the world.  These are the kinds of smalls steps that are going to result in but gains in the future.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying real estate with Bitcoin on: January 24, 2020, 02:14:28 AM
I have heard of people buying houses with Bitcoins but it was probably cases of for sale by owner.  Some people do make large purchases with Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies but it is still a little unusual.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen to Bitcoin if there is a global economic crash? on: January 23, 2020, 01:41:01 AM
I believe that Bitcoin will survive an economic crash because it may be seen as a safe haven like gold.  It may not have the same recognition as gold but it is similar in that it has scarcity due to limited supply.
