Then as a result, their success with this chip has come at the expense of their customers' losses (read: anyone who bought Batch 1-7). Class acts indeed... That is the exact formula for every Bitcoin miner manufacturer... ever. |

I think DHL is one of the outlier companies.. most use FedEx or UPS I would agree. I avoid using DHL like the plague. There are a few that prefer it. But I think it's a very small few overall. I would contact DHL and ask them what they need. If it's something you can do or if you need bitmain to do someting. DHL is HUGE in Europe. Zvi co-founded his own company this year and is working for MS, so if he's still involved he's definitely a busy man. what's MS? Microsoft? Edit: nevermind, it's just Microsoft's TED team (maybe a consult or a summer gig), re Spondoolies it says-Present. TED is a Microsoft team that does work to repair Microsoft reputation in the open sourse community. It is a new initiative. Mostly I work with startups in the Microsoft Ventures lab. I am involved in Spondoolies where my experience is needed (I am allowed by my Microsoft agreement) , because we are friends but I am not the main developer anymore. After implementing 2 years of miner SW one has to move on. TED is not a "Microsoft team". Would love to buy some s7s but the price of BTC cmo at buying. If prices where a lot better on BTC then I would sure buy at least 2 or more units and have a chance at making something on top but right now with markets prices and energy used am awaiting more improved version of this and better prices. Good luck to those who already buy as going to be a challenge to recover on RIO and gain more coin in return.
Just buy coin outright for now and wait for the 16nm or 18nm or 20nm miners which ever to come out. These should have super low power usage but then again what will the market price be for 1 BTC=0.50 USD. And what will DIFF level be equal to 9900000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000. Looks like the SF100 second batch will be mid-August - at the SAME insanely high 8000 yuan price.
I suspect the next batch doing "pre-sale mining, errr testing" might explain the recent Litecoin hash increases and perhaps a small amount of the recent Bitcoin hashrate bump.
I'm confused...mid-august? 8000 rmb is terrible...more like SF-TARDS if you ask me! What month is this? Lol. |

For me to ship to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) it is 64 an s-3.
So lets say I charge you 100 for one add on 64 to ship.
164 x 4 = 656 and I clear 400. That is too much for you to pay.
is I charge you 75 each + 64 each to ship = 139 x 4 = 556
That is too high a price.
You should pay about 400 to 450 if you can get that price.
My problem is If I charge you 450 with shipping included I clear 200.
If I keep the machines and mine I would earn 200 in about 83 days. So If I ever sell my 4 S-3's it will be local.
You're right, that's why i'm looking for hashing boards which will save much for me when it come to shipping but i don't have a clue on the 400-500 GH/S board's price. BFL Monarchs are not just hash boards. I don't know where you're getting that idea. Monarchs come attached to a water cooling kit. The only thing that a Monarch is missing that a Bitmain or Spondoolies miner has is a small controller board. And that's a HUGE pain in the ass because Monarchs need to be attached to a PC via USB to be able to run. I would estimate that you would save nothing in shipping because Monarchs probably weigh about the same as an S5 for less hashrate. |

I'm wondering about if Butterfly still worth to buy specially after Bitmain release the S5+ and S7 Antminers with low power, seriously i'm thinking of buying some boards of Butterfly which can mine with hashrate of 600-800 GH/S but i have no idea about how much will it costs me to buy 10 TH/S and can i use it all with just one Laptop ? Feel free to tell me what do you think ?  Wow dude! You need to do a LOT more research if you think there is any possibility that BFL is even a remotely good choice. But the short answer... they are a horrible choice now or ever. |

And they've always built miner for themselves and mined from day 1. Sure, they used profits from sales to the public to grow the company. But they were never "brought up from nothing" by us home miners. We were lucky to share in their success. |

I completely understand the whole "mining is a fun hobby" concept. I think it is/was great fun even if you're not a tweaker geek. I've been ASIC mining pretty much since the start (although I missed the batch 1 Avalons and bet on BFL and bASIC instead, lol). I've quit mining altogether now since the SP20s aren't profitable to run for me anymore. In my dreams, I'd love to have a SFARDS SF100 and an S7 on order... just for kicks. I love shiny new things! But the fun has really ended for me. The noise, the heat, the astronomical electricity bills, the tanking BTC price, the "never-ending race to beat the difficulty increases with new hardware" has worn me out completely. Although I'd be back in the race in a heartbeat if the BTC price was above $500 and on the rise! But then new gear would be much cheaper to buy with my BTC holdings. But this low BTC price just kills any desire I have for shiny new toys. I guess for now I will have to live vicariously through others.  True, the fun of mining has been ruined by the huge noise and heat an ASIC miner generates. My approach now is to downvolt and downclock the miners so that they can run on very quiet fans and function as a small heater at no higher than 400W power consumption The things is you have to evolve with the miners. Some will not be able to do this with living situation and understandably why. But I was lucky for summer mining I made a mining area. This mining area has paid off in gold really. I think having a nice area where you can handle heat and noise is no issue is becoming bigger and bigger in this game. And doesn't that kind of defeat the whole reason for home mining... having to build out areas of your home or property to accommodate mining equipment? I used spare rooms and garage (in winter) which was inconvenient enough for me. Lol. But to each his own, I guess. |

This is a current year item. They have it listed on their site now. Would say it's more in the "lotto" mining area. So special area of mining. Lol, I understand that. But can't a person buy a used S3 for about the same price and play the solo mining lotto with 20 times the hashrate? This item makes absolutely zero sense (or cents)! Ah but I guess it is more efficient but that hardly justifies the ridiculous price. |

And what kind of circuit are you going to run a 10-20THs miner? Remember, the S7 is aimed at the home miner. I would rather call it a shed- or basement- or outside-of-home miner if it is really going to be 75dB or more as some are suggesting. Unmodded S5 in batch1 and with initial software and only one fan was doing 72dB of "metallic"sound. By saying "home miner", I mean that the S7 is designed to run on an average home's circuits rather than only in a datacenter. Where the person decides to place the miner in their home is irrelevant. But yes, a garage or basement is the best place to run most any miner.  |
