Successful trade, my XRP for his BTC. Easy!
.5BTC for the 35k seems like a good deal to me.

assuming Baphomet agrees
Sound fine to me. So for anyone who has a double order and wants to unload it: here is a chance.
5  Economy / Goods / [WTB] Avalon ASIC B#1 Order on: January 30, 2013, 01:11:19 AM
If you are thinking this whole Avalon situation seems overly fishy and want out, i will buy your batch 1 order from you. Only after a single unit and would be best to do this as soon as possible if it was going to happen.
I guess this is a good way to guarantee that you at least get your money back on something that may not even exist? I feel i am willing to take the risk. Others have already started to sell their orders and i feel like more will head down this path too and i would like to be on the receiving end.

Anyway anyone interested should PM me, i can do a bank transfer asap to anyone who shows the order has been transferred to the postage address of my choosing with official conformation from one of the Avalon guys.

Edit: Also thread can be used for discussion or to tell me i'm crazy for still trying to buy one of these or whatever you want to say.

Edit2: I wasn't looking to pay much extra, was intending to cover the original order unit price+shipping. So don't PM me asking if i want to pay double because i wont, was worth a try i guess.
6  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] Batch #2 pre-Sale Thread on: January 29, 2013, 03:14:43 PM
As in the style of the first batch, am i able to place the order, get one of the first 600 units on hold until i wait to see of Jeff/Bitcoin Foundation recieve working units? It seemed like people were sending payments (bank wires) for the first batch months after the original date and still having the order honored. I'm hoping this will be the case for batch #2 as i would very much like to buy one but don't currently have 80+ bitcoins in my wallet.
FTFY
Obviously that too, but i really do want to order, and really don't have 80 spare bitcoins within the next day and a half.

As in the style of the first batch, am i able to place the order, get one of the first 600 units on hold until i can gather all the bitcoins together which may take a few days to buy? It seemed like people were sending payments (bank wires) for the first batch months after the original date and still having the order honored. I'm hoping this will be the case for batch #2 as i would very much like to buy one but don't currently have 80+ bitcoins in my wallet.
Or is this more of a mad scramble for cash(coins) where first 600 full transactions that hit your wallet are the new prospective owners of the next 600 asic units?

but without seeing what's inside, who's to say?
It just a box of fans man, nothing you would know about.  Wink

Thanks for the update. Hopefully getting in on the second wave of orders isn't just going to be luck of being online at the right time but i can't imagine many other ways to do it.
Compared to all the other ASIC producers Avalon seem far more organised and transparent/honest with information and customer relations and it makes me want to spend my money here rather than anywhere else.

Might have to try this sometime.

I wonder how long it will be until the first physical-digital theft of bitcoins. Time to get a safe?

Due to a mass of trolling
I have to strongly disagree with this, making new members restricted in no way stops trolling and people posting worthless crap on the forums since the "trolls" are not banned or removed in any way from the main forums. I see what the intentions were but it feels very DRM-esque in its failures in doing anything worthwhile while restricting people who intend on making good contributions.

If i had to be totally honest, OP's post itself actually angers me a little in its short-sightedness and almost verging on a "troll" post itself, which is amusingly meta.

My thoughts on the matter anyway.
