1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price jumps after USDT transparency update! on: June 23, 2018, 01:48:16 AM
17 billion+ dollars lost in the blink of an eye. We aren't getting much in the way of bull news, and it might be better that way.

I think we should change 'USD' to 'market caps USD' in this context. So 17 billion MCUSD were recently lost, as there certainly were never more than a tiny fraction of real dollars involved.

The USDT report does nothing to clear up any doubts prior to the period that law firm sniffed around and that prior period is the one everyone wants to know more about. They could've immediately moved all that money back out after moving it in. I personally think it'll all be fine but the question marks will still be dug up every now and then.

And it was never going to turn the market around. It's locked into whatever trajectory it's heading along immune to news.

I think only when there are more applications of bitcoin will turn the price around.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin broke $12,000. Still a good time to buy imo. on: January 28, 2018, 12:24:38 PM
It is very difficult now to predict the behavior of bitcoin. I bought bitcoin when the price dropped to $ 9700. Now I'll wait for a big price increase. I have a small Fund that I use to trade on the exchange. This allows me to have an income for everyday needs. The main asset I won't sell cheaper than $ 25,000.

I think the recent price is correlated to the transaction fees. If the fee is low, the price is high. So if the fee is kept below 50sat/byte, the price will rise again.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: $6000 comming through on: October 17, 2017, 12:38:55 PM
Major resistances have been blown like a tower of cards. This is only the beginning. Expect $7000 short thereafter. We may get to $10000 this year if the segwit2x corporate takeover is beaten quick enough. Im hoping everyone with power in bitcoin crushes the corporations involved in the hardfork.

If we get past segwit2x, it will be smooth sailing. For now let's enjoy the ride.
Yeah, I definitely agree with you mate. But I think $10k is not possible  this year. But very possible  to happen next year. I also believe  that it will continue  to rise as the years go by. Sooner or later,  it will be equal to 1 lambhorgini.  So today, will chase more bitcoin and gain more profit tommorow.

If the bitcoin is the only "bitcoin" after November, then the price could be much high. Otherwise, the price could reduce.

I think Bitcoin Cash is my favourite coin.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Dash Is So Cheap Only 47$? on: May 28, 2017, 07:01:14 AM
it looks like DASH is no longer cheap

I just hope that this is not something temporarily inflating prices for the profit of of some

If there is active developments, it will be more expensive.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Becoming rich owning all altcoins in 5 years? on: April 08, 2017, 07:48:50 AM
Exactly, I now have GNT, XRP, Dash, Ether and BTC itself.

Any suggestions in which ones are good?

Lol, if you buy a small stash from about thousand altcoins today in five years 950 of them will be long gone  Grin but from that 50 there will be 30-40 decent ones with three to four times ROI and five or six of them with at least 20x ROI. And probably one or two with a 100x ROI.

If you buy the top 10 altcoin, it is much safer.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Dash Is So Cheap Only 47$? on: March 09, 2017, 03:09:50 PM
Why Dash is so cheap? When it will cost above 100$?

When Evan Inc decides to organize the next pump, and can get some big money (Ver ?) sustain it.

I'm pretty confident that DASH will go sky high.  It is even under more centralized control than ETH, and look how high they succeeded in pumping that, with the Foundation even dumping a serious amount of it.  Imagine what Evan can achieve, sitting on more than half of the stash, the master nodes, and hence, the full control of the "community votes".

I think so. Dash is too much controlled by very few people.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Becoming rich owning all altcoins in 5 years? on: February 23, 2017, 07:43:33 AM

Incent, Waves, Ardor, Chronobank (if you can get them for < 1$) - ICO coins that raised good funds and with devs who don't do a runner are a good long term invest (Ardor is more a 2nd gen ICO).

Hahahaha good joke buddy. If you're buying an ICO shitcoin AFTER the presale, more often than not, you're just throwing money away. You should absolutely not divert serious amounts of funds into ICO coins after they've already been listed on exchanges. With that being said, non-ico shitcoins or shicoins currently in ico are still fair game.

It is better to just buy the bitcoin and big altcoins.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin price may not crash like 2013 on: January 04, 2017, 01:22:37 PM
all rapid grows in a market must have rapid lowering of price, action = reaction
but i agree, this time it is more value gains than speculation, it will be lowered but no to 500$ range or 700$ range but maybe to 800$ only Smiley

We've seen steady and healthy growth in 2016 with lots of entry points for people to buy in or accumulate more.
2013 was completely different.A crazy run in 4 weeks which obviously was not sustainable and probably manipulated by one big exchange which had more than 60% of the whole trading volume at that time.
So much has changed during the last 3 years.Over 150 exchanges worldwide!Much more businesses accepting Bitcoin!A U.S. President where a part of his board advisors is PRO Bitcoin!
Fiat currencies devaluing in a rapid phase in certain countries! NIRP/ZIRP!
The big money is having an eye on Bitcoin! Think about guys like Bill Gross! Probably/hopefully an ETF getting approved soon!

Yes we will see some correction! This is good, this is healthy! But as long as we don't see a major issue like a hack, theft or whatever I doubt we will see a crash like 2013!
Let's hope for the best and cross your fingers!

That is right. There is no price bubble in 2016. I hope there is no bubble this year as well.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you doing with your mined ZEC? on: December 27, 2016, 09:08:31 AM
If you all keep dumping your coins, obviously prices are going to fall. I don't know how much miners influence the coin's price and I get that you need to cover electricity costs and all, but you should sell only that amount that allows you to do that. IMO Zec isn't dead, yet and I'm pretty sure the developers aren't going to let their coin die down in the 0.001BTC range.

We're reaching the 50$ bottom, last time, this was where ZEC got some support and went back to almost 0.14. I think that selling everything now isn't smart.

Personally I'll keep mining until I'm not getting any profit out of it which is around 30-40$/coin.

Wait and see...

This is the point I am currently at. All through the slow start I sold every ZEC as I mined it as the profits were good. I am just now starting to transition from selling everything to keeping and holding some ZEC.

I am currently at a 75% sell to 25% hold ratio, but over the next month as I think the price will start to stabilize more and I will convert to selling enough to cover power costs and holding on to the rest, probably ending up with something like 75% keep and 25% sell.

When the revenue of the mining is more than 2 times the electricity cost, it is better to sell. Otherwise, it is better to hold.

For most people, it is less than 2 times of the electricity cost, but the price is still going down a lot.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you doing with your mined ZEC? on: December 11, 2016, 01:43:03 PM
People paid 30 - 40$ when litecoin is in hype mode, and litecoin supply back then was far more than zec right now.

We all know how zec is far better in development and technology compared to litecoin.

Zcash has paid for developers. So they should do better job than the litecoin. litecoin is just a clone of bitcoin.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you doing with your mined ZEC? on: December 06, 2016, 08:03:42 AM
I'm keeping & waiting for price spike.  Roll Eyes

I do the same. It is quite possible that the ZCash can be developed properly as the developers get paid with ZCash.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: October 14, 2016, 07:07:03 PM
I think its good to be on safer side and try to have higher volume of coins so even if price doesn't reaches to the moon in future higher amount of coins will give us best benefits in future.

Actually the amount of bitcoins someone would need for getting retired later on would probably depend on the price of bitcoin of that time, if he has 50 bitcoin and the price is $10k it might be enough, or if he has 25 bitcoins and the price is $20k then it would also be enough as the value would be the same according to the price.

In 5 to 10 years, the bitcoin price will be around $10 to 50k. So you need about 100 bitcoin to live happily.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: September 28, 2016, 05:16:07 PM
It depends on the standard of living that you consider satisfactory, and the country where you will live, since the cost of living is an important factor. But I believe that anywhere, 100 BTCs would be enough in twenty years.

Indeed.  It also depends on the country you want to retire and live and spend your retirement fund.  I would suggest to live here in our country since cost of living here is cheaper just like countries in Asia.  I would make more bitcoin as far and as long as I can because I do not know what its price is for the next 20 years.

If you want to retire in a country with cheap living cost, it is possible to have 100 bitcoins in a few decades.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: September 19, 2016, 08:32:18 AM
i think like 5 bitcoins will be enough, as you should have like 500k$ then
Such a small amount i can not retire if made only 5 btc.. its not enough for me. maybe in other country that you can live long with that amount of money..
For me 50 plus is enough for me to retire in 20 years because i can start my own business and be a boss.
the best option is as much as possible, for me if i can have 100bitcoin for retirementday i will very happy with it.

best option is always to have as much as possible considering that new features are up for next year expect that if we have 100 btc in that time we will want to have more
cuz no matter now much we have it not good enough
I respect your opinion but I can tell your frankly that I would be happy to have at least 100 BTC for my retirement, I am not ambitious enough to live a luxurious life because all I want is a simple life living in a peaceful place, and I know with 100 BTC I could live a decent life already.

Not only that but having 100BTC doesn’t mean that the coins sit idly, you could invest those coins, I am not an expert so this should not be taken as advice but if a person were to invest in several bitcoin casinos you could earn BTC while doing nothing, I think the amount you can earn is something like 2% to 4%.

you are right, i think 100 bitcoins would be not enough because bitcoins is not going to be that huge, you would need at least a thousand

It depends on when you retire. If you retire in 20 years, the 100 bitcoin will be a few million US dollars.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: September 04, 2016, 05:35:41 PM
I may well be way off base, but I think in 20 years time if BTC survives, even 20BTC will be an enormous stash to have with substantial purchasing power. Somewhere between 20 and 50 BTC may make for an absurdly chilled retirement.

If the bitcoin survive in the next 20 years, the price will be at least 5000 times higher than now. So we will be rich.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: August 22, 2016, 01:35:19 PM
100bitcoins and a well settled busness will be more than enough to get retired after 20years but i think 100bitcoin is little bit harder to achive in this time but you can try

It may be more than enough, but it depends on how the currency will rise in value over the years.
Depend on his need to wag money.so you can not say 100 bitcoin will be enough .if you looking to retire after 20 year than why not to invest 1 btc in trustable mining service which give you good profit.
I don't know why you're recommending for him to put some money into a mining service. Investing in cloud mining is literally betting against the network and assuming that the overall hashing power is going to go down over the time that you have your contract, and that's already an unlikely bet. On top of the fact that a majority of mining services turn out to be scams in one way or the other.

I did some calculation on the cloud mining. If there is no difficulty rise, you can make some profit. Otherwise, there is no profit.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10k???? on: July 23, 2016, 05:16:07 PM
It is possible for the price to hit $1000 this year and I predict that it is going to happen at the end of 2016 but we will need allot more time for the price to hit $10,000.
I am not even worrying about that because I have to focus on what is going to happen in the present.

If there is continuous development of the bitcoin and it is adopted by many business, the price will be much higher.
yeah we can see big big companies have started accepting bitcoins like steam and more to goo which will definitely boost the popularity of bitcoin and its obvious for the price to go up but i doubt for 1000$ + !

Steam has lots of users. So it is good for the bitcoin when it starts to accept bitcoin. It would be better if you can get some discounts.

I have spent bitcoin on other websites, I never get any discount by using the bitcoin, even though it costs less for the merchants.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: July 08, 2016, 08:45:37 AM
now I starting doing signature campaign, if it is last until 20yrs. I got my bitcoin for almost 50BTC in 20yrs. calculation for this 2.5btc per year doing signature campaign multiplying the year, 20 years you got 50BTC for retirement.

You might get 5 bitcoin each year now, the amount you will get will halve every year due to bitcoin price rise. You will get about 10 in total.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10k???? on: June 23, 2016, 04:55:44 PM
The chance is quite small that we can reach that value and that is because you have to know that the value of Bitcoin is now rising slowly so we need patience for it.
And it is hard to choose the right moment to sell it because the value is always changing.

I will hold the bitcoin for the long term. So I will not sell at present. I will keep on buying to accumulate enough.

I also don't believe it will reach $10k this year, but in the long term... who knows? In my books it's perfectly possible to reach that price one day!

In 3 to 5 years, if there is good adoption of the bitcoin, it is very possible for the bitcoin price to reach 10,000

I am not sure about that. I have trasfered bitcoin recently, it takes too long time to confirm. I have bad experience.
