Hello everyone,

Allow me to introduce myself randomly somewhere in this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1369738.msg13956905#msg13956905

Now then, I belong to the South Asia region and I had been directly involved in the complete life cycle of mobile-based digital product/value added services which includes coming up with the initial idea, business development,  pricing, product development & enhancing customer experience using focus groups (real people sampling from different sets of usage behavior, background, education, age etc.), fully developed and introduced industry first 1-click monetization for mobile apps, webites and mobile websites(using in-house SMS, HTTP, VOMS, IN  and HXC technologies together) , revenue generation (with proven track record of surpassing targets everytime), marketing and more marketing including conventional BTL + ATL and newer mobile advertising, social networks (twitter, facebook), SMS broadcast, IVR calls, Top-up flash message,  3rd party vendor management, finance, legal & regulatory tasks, branding , PR and ensuring customer excellence for a service provider. Yeah the experience pretty much covers everything and somehow you just have to go through all these processes yourself if its an innovative product and 70% of my products were industry first in the Country. Its been almost 2 years since I decided to quit because I wanted to stop living someone else's dream and start living my own since then I had been on a pursuit of entrepreneurship and been working on a few ideas all related to the digital medium (not to mention almost broke lol but hey such is the price to pay, hoping to catch up on good luck sometime soon, no way i want to go back to the corporate grind and things which people call as "jobs" but they're really just soul drainers built to snatch away the very life you've got)

I had been following up with Bitcoin pretty closely and I think I just might have a few innovative ideas for B2C products revolving around content & entertainment category and also which do not selfishly qualify as wall-gardened services and demand exclusivity in order to retain market share and making money like a greedy mofo (which almost everyone seems to be following these days).  Goal is to introduce and educate a lot of potential customers on the proper use of bitcoin and also develop a user experience unlike any other which works on the same principal but with a better and if possible, unprecedented innovation (really its just re-inventing the wheel and tailoring it for specific market based on their usage history, user profile, likes, dislikes, on-peak off-peak usage etc
Important thing to believe is that right now, having more people to use bitcoin is a win-win situation for all of us and many of us to come every day. Any product from us should act as a contribution towards a bigger goal and all should be supported equally and criticized heavily and honestly by the community. It just so happens that who ever comes up a unique idea first, penetrates the audience's interest and generates the most attention and also revenue, though who knows second product based on something similar by someone else one day might even do way better but focusing just on exclusivity and utilizing all energy to retain the "leadership" and that too over some digital product is really absurd in this day and age. Leaders create, followers follow (or some quote like that which I cant really recall right now). We are all followers here for sure but no harm in trying for something new and somewhat fresh.

So who I am really looking for are some bright individuals who should be able to handle the following departments (as an individual or as an whole depends on how it goes but basically supervising and being responsible the dedicated role) Note : Race, country, color, skin, gender doesn't matter, the more diversed the team is, the more the better it is for a good success story! just don't be a prick thats all):

- Business development ( Analysis, intelligence, business logic, pricing etc)

- Legal & regulatory( THIS is by far the MOST important thing. People who work or have worked professionally in the area of telecoms, ISPs, payment processors, banks etc. When you introduce something which plays around with people's money , you simply need a superman who knows inside out and does not insist on "backdoors" to a problem. There is a backdoor issue just about everywhere e.g. if some customer is unhappy due to a fault in the product, a backdoor is shown such as what paypal or banks do in order to shut the customer up and not to dig deeper in the solutions due to certain defined SOPs or just because they think its too much of an hassle for a single customer out of millions. That is not the attitude I want, customers always come first.) Hey in fact, most of the customer service related issues can also be dealt by this guy come to think of it , heh.

- PR ( people belong to the digital press, TV , social media etc. People having connections with opinion leaders who can generate and trigger a chain reaction in case of any breakthrough, people are hooked on to media all the time so the coverage could be related to product itself, stories around the people behind it, media stunt, following up constantly in case some issue has been escalated to a court  sentenced to death etc lol you catch the drift right?)

- Technical (front end development, back end development, Android & iOS apps, Mobile sites and websites HTML5/JS and of course the whole bitcoin integration in all the mentioned .. and yes, security , without security nothing is safe these days)

It does seem like a whole company but trust me it isn't much work if all individuals are bright enough to take part / swap others role for gaining experience and giving an extra helping hand. Things surely happen faster this way. I simply just cant work with people who don't show compassion to the end-product and say things like "I have done my part, that's his job not mine" . That's not how ideas or startups roll , again this is not a one-off project where I can just pay you the coin for the services provided and move on.

As for myself, I can promise you coming up with a working business model, annual uptake forecast and the projections for at least an year (more than year is not needed for a commercial B2C product/service anyway, in many cases its less than 6 or 3 if it really sucks), profit/loss statement, monitoring and daily report, Capex / Opex , potential business partners if needed, agreements processing and legislative trusted support in the market, new methods of interaction, known and tested methods of marketing and sales for the target market, enhancement on a product level and on a technical level (new integrations, new mediums) in order to keep the user interest intact, customer life cycle management, keeping track on realistic timelines per task, campaigns, barter deals with brands, co-branding/venturing with any top popular brand in the Country (this isn't an issue at all really, mostly all FMCG people who have worked at least once together know each other and all their contacts as well, its just how solid you think your idea is with little or no risk involved). I will promise you customers as well as a network of resourceful and trusted colleagues and friends who will help us gain all the info we need about the market. The same sort of support is expected from you, and with you should come with a network of resources willing to help us out or at least someone to consult in case external support is required. The outsource model will fit in perfectly for development (but if someone is a coder himself/herself then its better that he do it along with a team of his choice) .This is not some freelancer job where I require a specific task, this is more like finding people who agree mutually on the goals, share their vision, share their views, establish trust, give complete and honest feedback on everything, take responsibility cause after all its  going to be OUR thing, not some service creation project for some b2b and other bullshit, its all for our mighty beloved bitcoin, hail! hail! Smiley lastly, As you know the BTC price is hitting an all-time high so this is the perfect time to create awareness and develop real use cases for it. So really need to get in touch with those who are interested.
Plan in short, making sure it launches and then make it a viable business (maybe expand it to other Countries? that is something this community will decide) After launch, need to make sure it keeps its upstream trend till the time comes to phase out , only to discover that it simply evolved to a newer and better..something else. (we'll just have to see what is hot when the time comes to phase out Smiley Not really in the favor of selling it off to some vendor from China for a bunch of money. I believe you should never sell something if it has been worked wholeheartedly and passionately upon but hey, if the thing isn't generating any revenue and some sucker comes up asking for it then sure why not Smiley

Wow, this post is getting awfully long , lets just hope people get to read it all:)

About investment, its always better to figure out and manage the cost on ownself till the day revenue starts coming and invest equally. However, i don't mind an investor coming in but you know how investors are like, i try to stay away from such who would like to take over one day being a part of the company/product !! but hey I really like how the investors work at BTCJAM,very, very interesting, but havent posted there yet, community is always priority.
Oh and you can discuss here on message me in private. I have no issues in disclosing more information but I really need to gauge here if this develops any interest at all, ideally once all people have chosen each other or whatever and properly introduced to each other then no there is absolutely no reason keeping the idea under the shadows and please SPARE me with the anonymity, trust and other petty issues, LinkedIN profiles and one skype call among the interested is more than enough for anyone to establish a business relationship. This is not the Dark side of net, where you can find FULLZ SCANZ OF LINKEDINZZ but realize it wasn't actually what you paid for   ,f***in scammer! 1/5 , lol.

there are just hundred possibilities here and ideal for those women who stay at home and earn coin. Things they always wanted to do if they had the chance, a lot of women run blogs of all sorts and use pinterest, if only somehow that could be incentivized with the coin.. Hmmm.. Roll Eyes

do you have any kind of country restriction, because it is Debit card can i join from anywhere?
Countries currently supported:
Aland Islands Albania American Samoa Andorra Anguilla Antarctica Antigua and Barbuda Argentina Argentina Armenia Aruba Australia Austria Bahamas Bahrain Barbados Belgium Belize Benin Bermuda Bhutan Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba Bosnia and Herzegovina Botswana Bouvet Island Brazil British Indian Ocean Territory Brunei Darussalam Bulgaria Canada Cape Verde Cayman Islands Chile China Christmas Island Cocos (Keeling) Islands Cook Islands Costa Rica Croatia CURACAO Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Dominica Dominican Republic El Salvador Estonia Falkland Islands (Malvinas) Faroe Islands Fiji Finland France French Guiana French Polynesia French Southern Territories Gabon Georgia Germany Ghana Gibraltar Greece Greenland Grenada Guadeloupe Guam Guatemala Guernsey Guyana Heard Island and McDonald Islands Holy See (Vatican City State) Hong Kong Hungary Iceland Indonesia Ireland Isle of Man Israel Italy Jamaica Japan Jersey Jordan Kazakhstan Kiribati Korea (South) Kosovo Kuwait Latvia Lesotho Liechtenstein Lithuania Luxembourg Macedonia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Malaysia Maldives Malta Marshall Islands Martinique Mauritius Mayotte Mexico Micronesia, Federated States of Moldova, Republic of Monaco Mongolia Montenegro Montserrat Morocco Namibia Nauru Nepal Netherlands New Caledonia New Zealand Nicaragua Norfolk Island Northern Mariana Islands Norway Oman Palau Panama Papua New Guinea Paraguay Peru Philippines Pitcairn Poland Portugal Puerto Rico Qatar Reunion Romania Russian Federation Saint Barthelemy Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha Saint Kitts and Nevis Saint Lucia Saint Martin (French part) Saint Pierre and Miquelon Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Samoa San Marino Sao Tome and Principe Saudi Arabia Serbia Seychelles Singapore Sint Maarten (Dutch part) Slovakia Slovenia Solomon Islands South Africa South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands Spain Suriname Svalbard and Jan Mayen Sweden Switzerland Taiwan, Province of China Thailand Tokelau Tonga Trinidad and Tobago Tunisia Turkey Turks and Caicos Islands Tuvalu Ukraine United Arab Emirates United Kingdom Uruguay Vanuatu Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands U.S.

But I would appreciate if you could fill the questionnaire anyway as it is going to be used for scientific research.

did not see this list before... Isn't it exactly or more or less the same as mentioned in link below?
@OP: would be great if you can tell us what is the reason behind this, a lot of other various services/providers have the same Country list while others don't.

Hey Zero,

Thanks for the detailed response and you're right about my post, now that I look at it , I really can't even make anything out myself what I was onto (or just ON, for that matter)  Grin I mashed up 2 or 3 or maybe lots of things all together in such a way that it turned out to be..NOTHING. Please ignore that and yes I shall most definitely take all other discussions related to bitcoin in their appropriate sections next time but please let me explain the things which are relevant to this thread and the Debit card in discussion as a few users have pointed out the non-availability of it as well:

Quote
1. Bitcoin is a digital currency. Everything can be a currency when there is someone that accepts it as a currency (like us).
Yes exactly and who is deciding the acceptance of the Countries listed on Spectrocoin's website? If its the decision by the service provider themselves then I would like to know why? some regulatory issue, legal or what ?

Quote
2. The bitcoin community is not bitcoin itself, however bitcoin is dependent on the community, if we don't mine/develop it, it won't get this far.

Yes sorry i was referring exactly to the community, like you said if the community wasn't there then it wouldn't get this far. So , not being a brat complaining here but just trying to re-phrase that if this virtual debit card is meant for Bitcoin users then shouldn't it try to reach as far as the community has? Another thing, did a small UAT on spectro site and found out users from non-supported Countries are allowed to register , setup a profile, select their non-supported Country from the list  ,top up vouchers from almost all the Telco operators in their Country, buy gift cards and yet not allowed to get the debit card, why?

I think the users who are just about anywhere on earth can/should buy and sell bitcoins and that's what I always thought, loved and praised most about bitcoin besides other things.
Being in the IT/Telco industry myself, I think its never a service provider issue as they would always want a bigger base and more reach of the audience, its usually the payment processor such as the bank and their ATM consortium / interbank limitations doing this , maybe it was an option for the service provider to select a tariff from the payment processor to  select either global ATM networks or just a few certain ones depending on the budget? Were there any usage statistics / ARPU / Potential growth calculated region wise ? what is this segregation based on? Then again, I also think this is sometimes confidential , if it is then its understandable and OP can give me a shut up call , no issues at all  Smiley

3. Bitcoin is decentralized, but PayPal is centralized. Bitcoin cannot be manipulated by one person without the majority agreeing on it (forks). PayPal however, could file bankruptcy and run away with the money.

Yes but what difference does it make to the users who don't have either? It's the same thing, we can only hear about it but never get to use it.
People in India and a lot of other Countries had been flippin at Paypal not being available to this date. So if a service such as Spectrocoin is competing centralized processors like paypal and offering something better then why is it not trying to reach more Countries? It is no doubt that the base and the volume of South East Asia is HUGE for this kind of thing. There has to be a reason for this, hopefully its not the same as Paypal's and declaring us as Fraudalent even now while MasterCard/Visa had been working perfectly since forever and the banking technology/security is also pretty up to date. Seems Paypal always is "increasing their security" everyday as evident from their posts and news and are always spending a lot of funds to look after VPNs/Socks5/RDP/ etc just to make sure not even their OWN users can access the service outside a certain radius when they need to. They tried taking over digital payments and they failed in acquiring a loyal base while other players and Telcos came in the picture. Anyway, this topic becomes a separate discussion so i'll just leave it here.

Quote
4. Like said, Mastercard/visa are all centralized. The goal of bitcoin is to bring a decentralized payment method to the world.

Yes my bad I don't know why I wrote MC/VISA there when its not even mentioned on the site lol , maybe i was confusing it with some other bitcoin card page I had it open at that time. But question again, why is it not available to every ATM in the world then? Oh and If its due to an absence of a "proper licensed BTC exchange" or maybe that KYC/AML thing whatever (which I am reading a thread on too as I write this) then don't you think it kind of makes it a little centralized?

Edit  : BTW , Found this while going through the T&C on Spectrocoin's site :

3. YOUR PREPAID CARD
3.1. Subject to the restrictions set out in this Agreement, you can use the Prepaid Card at most locations that display the MasterCard Acceptance Mark or Visa Acceptance Mark, either online, or on the telephone.

ok so yeah,  MC/VISA is there, so yes it is centralized and it connects to "most" locations, it has got to be the ATM consortium issue or limitation with the partner responsible for POS/ATM transactions.

Quote
5. First, you say bitcoin shouldn't be another PayPal. Now you suddenly say that they should partner with a bank. (Which is impossible to do) WHAT?!. Bitcoin itself cannot partner with banks (just like any other currency), but a bank can implement bitcoin into their ecosystem.

Ok your statement has confused me even further, so is it the bank that's implementing bitcoin into their system with Spectrocoin ?  Huh what I meant originally was that if this card allows POS/ATM on global banking kiosks/equipment AND charge a fee to the end users for it then there has to be a bank network or at least some payment processor doing the transaction on bank's behalf taking a rev. share no?

Quote
6. No idea what you are talking about to be honest. If you mean the transaction fees - it let's miners verify the transaction by including it in the mined block. They don't do everything for free.

Wow .. whatever it was , it wasn't certainly Miners or their transaction fees, this is new to me , yeah I have not read or known anything about miners except the part where they kind of make new coins with a maths machine or something, i'll read up !

Quote
I would recommend you to read through the description of "bitcoin" again and rather ask questions instead of complaining.
This post shouldn't be placed in a "service" thread. Post a thread in the "Bitcoin discussion" section.

Really sorry once again if it seemed like I was complaining dude! just trying my best to contribute and help the community grow!

hi guys, first post here Smiley

I really like your idea of this service as a business but not as a whole for "Bitcoin" as a currency or a community. The whole point of Bitcoin is for everyone, by everyone right? the limitation of Countries just makes it look like another Paypal doesnt it? Of course I am sure it will be better in a market where there are other options such as paypal and what not but my understanding here is that the beauty of bitcoin is that its a global currency which anyone can use instantly without having to wait or going through payment processors and such, which leads me to my question regarding the very same reason - "Mastercard/ATM Network such PLUS etc)

 -  Does the bank charge you something "per country" in order to use their Mastercard/VISA network ? What is stopping you from parterning with Banks which provide such coverage globally? I know this might be very confidential information as it relates to the whole business case but been wondering on somewhat a same idea few days back and I really would like to know what kind of charges do these "Bank Network" guys take.

Sorry if I am hijacking the thread, admins please let me know if I am to post this somewhere else. Smiley
