1  Economy / Securities / Re: [Bitfunder]&[WeExchange] WARNING! The Fall of Ukyo! on: November 16, 2013, 02:47:41 PM
Ukyo asked me to watch https://blockchain.info/address/16zHkphBn9FjfNNrHLZJcCwQTnfSCMors1 for "about 8.6btc" around 6.20 PST.

At some point after the transaction, I saw the address getting funded.

I have no idea what is going on here. Nor do I want to.
2  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Tips on securing Bitcoind server? on: September 18, 2013, 02:05:19 AM
If you could spin-up a secure VM pre-configured with BitcoinD, up-to-date blockchain, and RESTful interface, is that something you'd be interested in as a service?

Given that the hypervizor has access to basically everything on the VM why on earth would I ever run a wallet on someone else's virtualization layer?

What about spending from a multi-sig address? Could someone point me towards a gist showing how to spend from a multi-sig address?

Can you exchange cellphone minute in Greece? You might see some traction if you were willing to take minutes/data credits in exchange for BTC.

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / m of n signatures on: February 08, 2013, 06:13:00 AM
Hi!

Would someone be willing to walk me through the process of generating an M of N signature transaction?

Thanks!
12  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Multi-signature user interface on: February 08, 2013, 05:21:36 AM
I haven't found a good one yet, but I'd really like it. I sold something to a user on this forum, and I walked him through using the Bitcoin-Qt debug console to generate a 2-of-2 multisigaddress.

I r super-idiots: would you be so kind as to walk me through generating a 2 of 2 and then a 2 of three? I don't want to buy anything but walking me through doing a 2 of 2 and 2 of 3 would accelerate my learning significantly.
13  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Multi-signature user interface on: February 08, 2013, 05:18:40 AM
This is essentially M of N sigs, right? Why not in that case have set of fields for input of pubkeys the user's willing to privilege on the transaction, and a dropdown for how many of those sigs will be required to validate transaction?
14  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] 200 BTC for lightweight colored coin client(s) on: February 08, 2013, 04:50:09 AM
Can someone explain what a colored coin is?

It's an itty-bitty fraction of a Bitcoin that represents ownership of an asset.

That asset could be a bond (in which case payments could be made to all bondholders without knowing who they are pretty trivially by inspecting the blockchain), ownership stakes in a company (in which case stockholders could vote by signing one side or another of a decision with a private key corresponding to the public key to which the colored coin was most recently transferred), or tokens for smart property (in which case your car would ask you to sign a random character string which it would validate against the public key to which its ownership colored coin was transferred most recently).

Awesome! I've started poking around in the Electrum source, intending to implement the atomic/P2P trade tools for that platform.

Quite stoked to see colored coins hitting the rest of the clients codebases. There are some cool applications in the pipeline.

>>NO Bots or JS Browser Plug-ins
>>Nobody likes them and if you're caught using, you'll be Warned, Suspended, then Banned [ publically ].

Why you'd even attempt this in a technically-savvy community (with a high incidence of similarly-savvy crime operations) like ours straight up *baffles* me.

Given your choice of languages and frameworks, which would you use in building a Bitcoin-related web application at this moment?
18  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Anyone looking for work? on: January 18, 2013, 01:07:09 AM
Hi! Web and associated technologies developer here (Python, PHP, HTML, CSS, JS...). Can do front-end and backend, but most interested in getting my fingers dirty at the interface of the Bitcoin network and the IRL payment network. Have 20 hrs/wk avail through April and then 30/wk through June, followed by FT availability after June. 3 B/hr is desired salary, but that's negotiable depending on how cool the systems you want me to write code for are Smiley
19  Other / Beginners & Help / High Trust Wager Settling on: January 14, 2013, 07:10:00 AM
Hi!

Question about wager processing with the bitcoin network. If at any point in here you know which resource to which to direct my attention, please do. I've done some research but I'm certain to have missed something.

Bombs away!

I want to take bets on the outcome (binary) of an event and have have my payouts publicly verifiable.

I create a wallet for each outcome. Customers place bets by transferring coins to the wallet. At the conclusion of the event, I transfer all coins from the losing wallet to the winning wallet. I then pay out to the bet winners from the winning wallet.

Questions:
 - Does this method guarantee that the network can audit my honesty in bet processing?
 - Is it necessary for me to send coins from the losing wallet to the winning wallet in order to prove my honesty?
 - What other ways would you suggest setting up a high-trust wager clearinghouse?

Thanks!
ikb
