1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Idea - BTC trading platform with possibility to go short. on: January 29, 2013, 04:36:54 AM
Use Bitfinex.com. I've been trying them out recently, and I was able to get execute shorts flawlessly.

I have the ability to make this happen, what I don't have is the coins to back the ETF or the funds to go through all the proper red-tape that is necessary to get it to where the general populace can easily access it. Believe you me, if I had the resources it would be done in a heartbeat.

Not to be a dick, but how exactly do you have the ability based on what you just said?

I am currently evaluating BitFinex. So far so good.

Still holding my short position. Dropping too fast.

Would you still have a problem if you wanted to transfer the funds to Coinbase?
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Here comes the sustained rally - BTC to $20 on: January 25, 2013, 02:19:14 PM

I'm limited to 2 cigars a year. I will "watch" this forum, and wait for spring.

Great prices, btw.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / I wish I could deposit USD on Coinbase. on: January 24, 2013, 01:51:42 AM
Let's say I don't want to buy BTC at its present value. But, if I wait until BTC falls in price, and want to buy it then, it would take 7 days for me to receive my BTC.

I wish I could load USD onto a site, and then when I feel like buying BTC I can do it immediately. Also, I don't want to rush off to 7-11 whenever I have the desire to buy some BTC. I want to do it from my computer inside a house/office.

Step 1: Load USD onto xyz.com
Step 2: Buy/Sell BTC whenever I want

Whichever company can do this, will make a fortune in future.

If there is a company like this, please let me know.

Thanks!

11  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: January 22, 2013, 11:15:30 PM
Just read the article. It's nice to see positive publicity for once.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Is MPEX the only place to trade BTC securities? on: January 22, 2013, 03:24:33 PM
I'm looking for places to trade a few BTC securities, but the only one I have found is MPEX. It doesn't seem very user friendly, and 30BTC is kinda prohibitive for someone who just wants to test it out.

Thanks.

Played last night. First online poker since Black Friday. What a great feeling.

I hope more people start playing.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Where does everyone think the price of BTC will be by the end of the day? on: January 21, 2013, 07:39:25 PM
I can't believe the volatility of BTC. I have a tab on my browser that displays the price of BTC, and recently I can't believe how it is skyrocketing. What is the impetus of the move?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduction and Raspberry Pi on: January 21, 2013, 03:29:26 AM
This looks interesting. Don't have the time right now.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Arbitrage on 3 exchanges? on: January 21, 2013, 03:07:31 AM
I've been using bitcoinity.org to follow the price of BTC.

I've noticed that MTGOX, BTCE, and BITSTAMP have varied prices throughout the day.

Does anyone here arb these three exchanges?
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: help me on: January 21, 2013, 03:02:49 AM
I used CoinBase, but it will be about 7 days until I receive my funds.

Might need to sign up with BitInstant.

Why would anyone waste their money on this garbage?
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My BTC/USD price predictions for the coming week. on: January 21, 2013, 02:38:56 AM
My analysis would be 16.50 mid-week.
