Thank you for considering using CoinGate to accept BTC payments!

CoinGate is a well-recognized crypto payment processor and we have been in the market since 2014. In fact, we were one of the first companies to integrate Bitcoin Lightning Network Payments. If you are concerned about market volatility, you can choose to convert the received BTC to EUR/USD automatically.

You can easily integrate our payment solution with payment buttons, API, and official plugins for the biggest e-commerce platforms. And our automated gateway handles crypto payments every step of the way, from creating invoices to confirmation of payment to customer support. So you don't have to think about how your clients will pay with crypto and how to track paid orders.

Feel free to test out our tools in a sandbox environment, where you can decide if CoinGate is a solution for you https://sandbox.coingate.com/

5  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: bitcoin legal or not on: March 19, 2019, 11:52:35 AM
While some countries are still banning cryptocurrencies, other regions building a legal ground for it. Currently, the 5th AML Directive by the European Parliament is going into force soon. It will prompt the European-based companies that deal with cryptocurrencies (e.g., brokerages, exchanges, etc.) to do more extensive due diligence on their customers, as well as avail of blockchain forensic tools to monitor transactions for possible illicit activities.

Even though regulations of certain level exist now, the new directive will tighten the current legal environment at the expense of crypto-related companies, providing more trust and stability to crypto economies and promoting transparency in crypto space. Most likely, bans will eventually be lifted and some degree of regulations will be applied instead. (more here: https://blog.coingate.com/2019/02/aml-compliance-bitcoin-adoption/) Hopefully, it will be done without interfering with technological progress and helping to accelerate adoption of digital assets both in terms of investment, business and regular use, just like it is done now.
6  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cryptocurrency regulation? on: March 19, 2019, 11:50:37 AM
Cryptocurrency regulations are getting there slowly, but steadily. For example, the European Parliament adopted the 5th AML Directive which will soon go into force and redefine how cryptocurrency-related companies in Europe will have to mitigate the risks associated with terrorism financing, money laundering, human trafficking and so on. It means that exchanges, crypto brokerages and similar companies will now have to use blockchain forensics tools and perform more extensive due diligence on their customers.

In a way, it legitimizes cryptocurrencies in the eyes of governments, creating a legal basis on how cryptocurrencies should be perceived and treated in Europe as they gain more and more traction, meaning it won’t be that easy to exploit crypto-related services to perform illicit activities or, more importantly, exchange crypto to fiat anonymously. We also have in-depth blog post regarding regulations in crypto: https://blog.coingate.com/2019/02/aml-compliance-bitcoin-adoption/
