1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Desktop-Widget for exchangerates [OSX/WIN/LINUX] on: April 03, 2013, 03:01:36 PM
So the user set ups any BTC-Amount and as soon as this is reached, gets notified? Great idea!

That is a native OSX-Application right?

Would you mind if I implement something similar? Of course I will thank you in the commit/version-notes for that (:

Edit:\ By the way: could you please make your screenshot a tiny bit smaller? Wink
2  Bitcoin / Project Development / Desktop-Widget for exchangerates [OSX/WIN/LINUX] on: April 02, 2013, 11:37:17 AM
Hi all,

I made a simple desktop-widget in Java that shows the current exchange-rates of different sites.

  • Can be sticked to top
  • Can be sticked to any desktop-corner
  • Different currencies may be chosen

A future version will also show which pool mined the latest blocks in a separate widget (which can be turned off and on).

Grab the newest nightly here: http://suven.github.com/BTCTicker/ [probable spyware - use at your own risk]

Hope you like it. Any feedback is very welcome!

Hello together,

I'm using Bitcoins since January and am a professional software-developer who always looks out for new projects and new technologies.

That primary is, why I am so interested in Bitcoins.

Although the community is already really big and although there are already many many projects around nearly every aspect of bitcoins, I am sure there is space for some more Wink

6  Other / Beginners & Help / Why should one deposit on bitcoinpyramid on: January 25, 2013, 01:38:15 PM
Hey,

it seems like I did not quite understand why it makes sense to deposit BTC on bitcoinpyramid.

I tested it with a small amount of BTC which got immediatly paid to other members http://bitcoinpyramid.com/member/5672

So now my balance is 0.

Is it only to increase your threshold?

I knew the chances were low, that this thread was seen by a AA-mod (:

Maybe a mod would be so gentle to merge this into https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=45664.300 ?

Or if any non-newb could post a link to this thread in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=45664.300 I would highly appreciate that  Smiley

Hi,

I know there is a discussion-thread over https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=45664.300 but since I am a Newbie, I am not allowed to ask there Wink

From the pages-history of the thread it seems that mechanics of the site have changed a lot over time.

I have 2 questions: How is the weight of a site calculated right now? Is it still that "How much is it worth"-Request from http://www.getwebsitevalue.com ?

The other one regards the impressions. The popup-dialoge on AA says that IP's are being cached for 24 hours. Is it cached per website, afliate, or in general? I have about ~100 unique visitors on my website but only 8 impressions listed on AA.
