Thanks OP for an interesting and funny read Wink

Good points RE storage which I hadn't considered yet (admittedly I have no BTC of note to warrant such precautions!)

Cheers

I had followed BTC for a while before stumbling across some long forgotten Liberty Reserve USD which I duly exchanged for BTC.

Unfortunately though, my 0.97BTC was not enough for the purchase I had planned on making.. So did I put it to one side while I waited for my (fiat)payday?

Cheesy Like hell I did, I went to Bitzino and within a matter of minutes turned it to 3.1BTC before losing it all again! Cheesy

Oh well, twas fun, and the experience has left me both interested and excited at the future for our favourite currency. Look forward to getting involved.

Cheers,

I agree with the convenience aspect on the whole: speed of purchase and perceived difficulty to obtain BTC. I like the mini-bar analogy.

Aside from that, do bare in mind that eBay is an established purchasing route in the minds of many. Somebody who wants BTC may not be aware of, or trust, the fiat-exchanges out there..

Hello fellow BitCoiners, My name is Jon  Smiley

I have been aware of BTC for a long time now, but recently I have become very interested in it.

I've decided to register here as this forum contains a wealth of information that has helped me immeasurably over the last few weeks, and I'm keen to join the conversation. I'm very excited by BTCs' future prospects and keen to support the project however I can..

..On a side-note I obtained my first BTC last night (0.97!) which I managed to convert from some long-forgotten LR USD. No doubt you'll be pleased to hear that I helped the BTC economy, by quickly tripling, and then losing my money at Bitzino Cheesy

Moral of the story: Gambling is bad! (Good fun though Wink)

Look forward to getting to know people in due course.

Cheers,
