1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin.com Pool, 120% PPS on: December 07, 2017, 12:50:39 PM
Hi,

how do you know which pool server you connected to?

I saw in the dashboard, there's only 1 url server. but when you go to pool stas page and scroll down, they seem to have us, eu, cn, sg.

how do I know which one we are connected to or how do we choose?

Thanks.
2  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Bitcoin Core Sending to same address multiple entry on: November 10, 2017, 11:06:05 AM
Hi,

Has anyone ever try to send BTC using Bitcoin Core Client using multiple entry (add recipient in the send tab)
but sending it to the same address ?

will it go through as separate payment?
or
will it combine the amount and send it as one entry?
or
one of them will gone with the wind and lost in space?

Thanks.

UPDATE:
sorry, I just realised that you cannot send using same address.

Hi,

I read somewhere in this forum that if you point your Avalon to nicehash, the cgminer will restart itself more often than other pool.

Could someone advise me how do I tell that the miner restart itself not because other things like hardware problem, AUC problem, cable problem.

Is there someone ever mine on any pool and the miner never restart itself?
Also what things that will make cgminer restart itself?

Thank you.

-2 lowest hash rate with least power used.
-1 more hash rate with more power used
0  even more hash rate with more power used
+1 most hash rate with most power used

no one does +1  with good results

0  can be done in a cool room with  a very good psu

-1 is good if you are running hot
-2 is good with a shitty psu.

Hi Philip,

so what is the offset that is good for EVGA Supernova 1200 P2 ?
and also for EVGA Supernova 1300 G2 ?

I'll see what I could do with that high temp. what is the good ambient temp ?

Thanks

Vi and Vout looks ok, so the PMU is not the problem.

What is your hashrate?
It looks like one or two hashboards are having some kind of problem.

You should open a ticket at Caanan and post the log there.

Update:

What voltage offset are you using? Please try with -1 or even -2.

Please check your temperatures, 42 degress C at input is a lot, maybe it's overheating ! Fans are at 100%, this is not normal.
Temp[42]
    TMax[95]
    Fan[5760]
    FanR[100%]

my voltage offset is 0. what does it actually do?
so what does the safe temp for in and out? is it below 40 for in?
and below 95 for out?

some miner 0

Thank you.

looks like a bad hashing board.
Please post the entire log or at least the Vi,Vo,MW values..

Your error is "CODE_CORETESTFAILED   WARN   Core test failed   Ignore it if hashrate is not so bad".  (https://github.com/Canaan-Creative/avalon7-docs/wiki/AvalonMiner-error-code)

what about the ecmm and CRC ?

I'm just wondering why my miner could restart itself randomly. sometimes 15 mins. sometimes a couple hours and sometimes a day or so.
I'm trying to figure out which part is the problem.

Thanks

I guess the replacement and warranty thing is just BS and sweet talk. I have been asking them 2 more times and what I get is just silent.............
until I got replacement, I guess the 90 days warranty, for me is just a typo by them, it should be no warranty.

I'm just wondering have you contacted anyone at Canaan? I'm not sure what you mean by asking them 2 times, how was this done? The process for defective units is pretty straightforward and can take a few days to hear back, but you have to at least open a ticket; was this done? Also a while back one of their representatives Steven had been talking with the group and provided us with his email. You probably dealt with him when you bought your 100 unit order, he tends to have something to do with larger orders. His email is Steve@canaan.io .

So far from what I can tell is anyone who has had issues with defective equipment, has had their issues resolved, if they take the proper steps. Good luck.

Yes, I did contact steve and I did open ticket and after that the tech support said they will send replacement.
After that, I message them 2 more times using the ticket and no reply at all and no news about the replacement at all.

Does anybody know why my Avalon can randomly restart itself.
Sometimes 15 min restart. sometimes 5 hour. and sometimes can last up to 1 day and then it restart by itself.

Thanks.
10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: October 27, 2017, 12:03:52 AM

From 100 machine, I got 3 defective miner like I explained above and already send email to them and got no reply at all.
and
106 power supply, I got 8 defective (They said they are going to replace it, we'll see about that whether I will received the replacement or not, will update if I received replacement)
So I guess if they didn't replace my miner, then that's mean the Avalon miner cost, I have to add up 3% (defective rate)

Avalon 6 all good no defective, just the some miner hashrate is not like it was advertise (3.5 Th/s) but at least no defective.

we'll see about the new type later, hopefully its not as bad as 741 like Philip mentioned and what I received.

Its interesting you say that. From 100 machines, I also got 3 defective miners. So there are now 2 of us with a 3% defect rate. Did you try sending an email to Steve? I'm sure he can help you out man. From the 60 PSUs that I have, I haven't gotten a dead one yet (fingers crossed). Compared to the antminers ( I have 42 L3+ and 50 S9s with 14 more on the way) Avalons are way more reliable. I lost 8 hashboards on the s9s in the first 3 days of mining and 15 L3+ boards, In total I think Bitmain machines have a 10-15% fail rate. Lets see who will send me back the quickest RMA. (my money is still on Canaan). I will detail my experience in the other thread Smiley

I guess the replacement and warranty thing is just BS and sweet talk. I have been asking them 2 more times and what I get is just silent.............

This topic is getting full with questions about defective hardware  Shocked

As far as I know and experienced in the forum the failure rate of Avalon Miners is the lowest of all Manufacturers.
well this was true of
avalon 4.1
avalon 6
avalon 721

the august 741's and the minerwarez  741'sin sept seem to be a bit worse.

From 100 machine, I got 3 defective miner like I explained above and already send email to them and got no reply at all.
and
106 power supply, I got 8 defective (They said they are going to replace it, we'll see about that whether I will received the replacement or not, will update if I received replacement)

Hi,

Anyone can help me how to fix Avalon miner 741 with PG Code 3
It is keep showing on and off in the cgminer status page.

also I got one more miner that has red led and only one board showing the green light.

Thank you

Just ran into this myself...the answer is in this thread.  What you will have to do is remove or comment out a section:
#create-alias {
    #   WAVES = 100000
    # }
I have commented out (using the #) in my conf file.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for pointing that out.
I also have to disable the matcher otherwise it will still came out error.

Also I have another question.
Does the default config automatically accept all kind of payment fees or do I need to input it one by one by asset ID to accept it?

Thank you.

Hi,

I got some question regarding full node and leasing.

1. What is the difference if you have 10k waves and setup full node and lease to other full node your 10k ? does full node make you earn more on average?

2. I saw on the http://dev.pywaves.org/nodes/
There's a P2P Port, Free Socket, Matcher, Status...

Does it make any difference if all of it is - ?
As far as I understand P2P Port is for other node to connect to your node?
Free Socket - Don't know what this is.
Matcher - Something to do with DEX but I have no idea how to set it up.
Status - most of the node is "-" so I assume if your node is running it will show "-"

Thank you.

Hi,

What will happened if most of people lease their coin and there's no waves in the market?
How do we create token?

When the devs will enable sending trx fee using token in the lite client?

Does the masternode can select which token they accept as fees or it will accept all automatically?

Thanks Cheesy

-  Tried latest Nvidia drivers as well as driver 382.33 (read someone was using this version and got better results, I however did not increase my hashrate)

-  Using Claymore rev 9.5 (I know it isn't latest but had same results prior to 9.6 release) and only single mining ETH

I do not understand what I can do to increase my hashrate.  Any ideas?

MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X+ (Plus) is sucks. The Gaming X is better.

Mine one Gaming X+ only get around 19-20 with +845 Memory.
and with Gaming X, I get 23-24 with +996 Memory.

With the new ethminer 0.11, Gaming X can get 24-25.
Gaming X+ Sold before I could I try the new ethminer, so didn't what is the hashrate.

Hi,

I got question about pivx staking.

Does the reward or incoming pivx during staking process automatically add up to my staking amount or do I need to restart the wallet everytime I earn reward or receive pivx to make the staking amount add up?

Thanks.

I'm using the lite client and the waves balance showing in the waves decentralized exchange is negative, and it will not let me cancel or create any buy or sell orders. Any fix?

Prepare to lose your money LOL.
Yeah it came out negative on me too on the DEX. Hopefully they fix it soon. but it makes me wonder about this decentralize exchange. isn't our transaction in the blockchain?

EDIT: They fixed it already.

Hi,

Anybody here could tell me how to send token and pay the transaction fee in that token.

I read in one of the article that you could do that.
https://medium.com/@cassiuscrypto/token-mining-and-waves-fees-8c6d64dd9f88

I'm using the waves lite wallet and I didn't see any choice in the fee field.

Its the token with green tick on the side of the name (I'm assuming that this token is recognise by waves platform)
like MRT, Mercury

Thanks.
