1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your best investment in 2018 on: November 18, 2018, 01:47:00 PM
This year I do not focus on investing in iCO projects but mainly investing in ETH. I usually trade the day to make profit from ETH. In 2018 the value of ETH fluctuated very well and brought many benefits to many investors.
But its fluctuations are downward fluctuations, And I also invest in ETH but I'm not profitable with it. But for other  altcoin else I have a lot of profit, 2018 is a bad year for ETH

I had some Bitcoin Cash,it also lost me some money.

Bitcoin Cash Hash Rate Drops By 37 Percent in One Day

Bitcoin Cash (BCH), the third largest cryptocurrency in the world, has suffered from an enormous drop in hash rate over the last 24 hours, making a widely feared 51 percent attack a reality. After plunging by 36 percent in a single day, the BCH current hash rate is sitting at 3.372 Ehash/s.

https://u.today/bitcoin-cash-hash-rate-drops-by-37-percent-in-one-day

BCH miners are moving to Bitcoin again because there's no incentive mining BCH now?

And the article also mentions the possibility of double-spending attack since hash rash is so low?

The BCH hash rate is 4.4 H/S, it mean it rose 40% in a day.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin to dual mine with eth on: June 04, 2018, 08:13:01 AM
It's only an extra 70w of power to dual mine Decred, but I think I may bin it off.

Cheers for the heads up chaps

I thought Decred already has ASIC, so it is not so profitable for GPU mining.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote AMD GPU Miner v11.3 on: April 03, 2018, 06:02:42 PM
v11.3:

- removed devfee, miner is completely free now.
- added "-pow7" option to support Monero hardfork, use "-pow7 1" value to enable it.
- reduced CPU usage for systems with a lot of GPUs.

Shall we use  "-pow7 1"  now, or wait until the fork starts with a particular block time?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining , still worth it? on: March 13, 2018, 10:45:23 AM
I am living in a country where electricity costs 0.12 - 0.15 cents/kw and i stil make a profit. Electricity cost is somewhere around 30% of what i mine.
We have to take into consideration that these are hard times and you can still make a pay but beware...you do not a lot of capital to be profitable.

My electricity cost is higher than that. I am using old GPU, so I have to undervolt a lot to make it profitable.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining earnings are terrible, I'm shutting down for a while on: January 31, 2018, 03:14:53 PM
Big rigs? Really? How massive are these computers? How many screens do you need to mine? My Gosh! I mine on my laptop in my living room at home, but after reading these post I feel I'm living in the dinosaur age when it comes to mining. Ugh so much more to learn about this mining stuff. Seems more difficult than coal mining  Grin

For the more popular coins, it seems you cannot mine with laptop any more. Unless you think PoS is also mining.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What to mine with 7950? on: November 21, 2017, 12:40:21 PM
Thank you all. I made some calculations and it looks like ZEC is a little bit better for the moment. Anyone with 7950 like? What driver are you using if yes?

I use 15.12 or 16.9.2. There is no difference.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What to mine with 7950? on: October 15, 2017, 11:49:28 AM
Either ZEC or XMR.

You will make $1/day

I agree. It is good for those two coins, not good for ETH.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash Is Now More Profitable to Mine Than Bitcoin on: August 18, 2017, 04:39:25 PM
I think many miners will move to BCC to mine so as to get more profit.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: proof of stake by Ethereum on: May 24, 2017, 05:25:18 PM
Can you post the link of the news about PoS ETH?

and  other question, how much exposure ethereum blockchain will be? do you think it really worth for them change PoW for PoS?

NO need to worry. Pure PoS is many years away.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus H270 Prime Plus, good for 6 GPU? on: April 04, 2017, 05:31:57 PM
I am building a 6 gpu rig and really wanted to use the g4560 instead of the older pentium/celeron.

I want to use Asus H270 Prime Plus with powered risers.

has anyone used it for minning?

Do all 6 PCI-e slots work simultaneously?

I used 2 different z270's with five cards  (psu could not do 6)

I am pretty sure  five will work for you.

I have read six will work but can not verify that.

I plan to use a 1200 watt psu for 6 470, do you think it will be enough?

It is more than enough.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 7xGPU + Windows // modding AMD video driver is the answer on: March 08, 2017, 05:30:23 PM

 Is it still not possible to run more than 4 cards, mixing 470s/480s, in win7?  When I try to add a 5th it works great but seemingly chosen at random one of the previous working cards will always develops the dread error 43 and stops working. Sometimes I lose a 480, sometimes a 470, but whatever card is added as the 5th works when the old one 43s.

Did you run the mod as administrator?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 7xGPU + Windows // modding AMD video driver is the answer on: January 02, 2017, 04:49:11 PM
AsRock H81 Pro BTC
Disable built-in GPU in BIOS, set PCIe to 1.1 if possible, plug GPU directly in the motherboard.

I think it is PICE 1.0.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: December 18, 2016, 02:06:08 PM
Probably bitcoin will never replace dollar, IMO at most it will become widely used, similar to euro in Europe.

It might do in a few decades.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 7xGPU + Windows // modding AMD video driver is the answer on: December 05, 2016, 05:28:53 PM
How about how to get 8 or 9 GPU's working in windows 10?
I'll try with 8 and 9 these days

9 will not work.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: October 15, 2016, 04:21:01 PM
This can never happen as people don't really have the confidence to keep their hard earned money digitally which is prone to digital attacks so dollars will continue to rule

If you just save the bitcoin in a offline wallet. It is pretty safe. It is not to be breakeable as it is offline.

I edited my Bios by following this video then i overclock the card Memory clock to 1975 and set  power tune to 25 and use msi after burner not the one linked in the video, it has some really strange effects when I use it after burner doesn't do . Claymore hits 28MH all the time, with this BY wolf https://ottrbutt.com/miner/downloads/sgminer-gm/sgminer-gm-wolf-09222016.zip  i hit 27 mh .

all i change in the bios is the timing like the video does,so me linking my modded bios really won't help  and it is safer if you do it your self just follow that video .

here is my sgminer.conf which I'm all way tiring something new, till i hit that extra 1 mh i miss or some one figures out how to Optimize it better .

Code:
 {
    "pools": [{
        "url": "stratum+tcp://us1.ethermine.org:4444",
        "user": "",
       "pass": "x"

    }],
    "profiles": [{
        "gpu-powertune": "25",
        "worksize":"192",
        "name": "eth",
        "algorithm": "ethash",
        "gpu-threads":"1",
        "xintensity":"1024"
    }],
     "no-extranonce": "true",
     "default-profile": "eth",
     "api-allow": "W:127.0.0.1/24,W:192.168.1.0/24",
     "temp-target": "63",
     "api-port": "4028",
     "temp-cutoff": "82",
     "api-listen": true,
     "auto-fan": true,
     "temp-overheat": "80",
     "no-submit-stale" : true,
     "expiry": "120",
     "log": "5",
     "queue": "1",
     "scan-time": "60",
     "temp-hysteresis": "3"
}

and when i set power tune to 25 for me any way my two 470  ran a lot cooler and quieter. I even let either Claymore or sgminer set the fan speeds all i did with the fan speed was set limits. I don't like using wattman either at first i thought i would , MSI after burner Does all the over clocking i need .I may find out what that Guy did in his 480 thread , who modded his bios with everything so no overclocking software is needed and then edit my bios to do the same, later on , but with 470 limits. that i may link or try to write the how to but for 470 unless some one does it sooner .

How many hardware errors do you have in one hour per card? What is your speed seen in the pool?
18  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-09-04]Bitcoin Price Above $600 on: September 20, 2016, 05:19:28 PM
I am always deeply torn over this issue.  I jump for joy because the coins I already control have gone up in value!  On the other hand I am looking to buy more and that makes them more expensive.

I have the same dilemma. I mainly want the bitcoin price to stay low so that I have enough time to buy more.
19  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-09-04]Bitcoin Price Above $600 on: September 05, 2016, 06:01:54 PM
Dont know what is the reason but i also saw that the price is jumping above $600 btc rate but it is not getting stable so i think it will take more time to get the rate stable above $600.

It doesn't really matter what the reason for this price jump is. The important thing is that we are moving upwards. I hope the $600 price point will be maintained in the coming days. But for that to happen the buy support must get stronger because a relatively small dump will push the price below $600 again.

I think the reason for the price rise is the acceptance of the SegWit by the market as a tool for block size increase.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Dump: I told you on July 3rd.... on: August 23, 2016, 12:55:01 PM
People missed one thing before the halving, at December 2015 bitcoin were worthing 250-300 dollars, at January this year bitcoin jumped to 400 for no reason besides the bitcoin halving coming, soo the current value is the right one and maybe a bit above the real value, that could be 500-600 dollars.  Soo dont expect too much from bitcoin, i believe bitcoin will end the year at 700 dollars but if it stands at this value the halving has already made its presence.

I don't think it's going to stand at this value. People will have to invest again, so we have to wait for the investors to buy some more BTC. Trades and investments are never going to stop, you're going to see these guys around all the time. Everyone is hoping for a price increase like four years ago. If that would be real.. expect the price to go up to $100k next year.

I think the recent price drop of the bitcoin is caused by the problems of the new Core client, the software might not be authetic.
