I read about P2Pool and it said something about making a block every 10 seconds. I'm wondering if you could use this to get faster confirmations, or would double spending still be possible?

Shh.... don't let apple know what you're doing. They will cancel the cards. It seems like a good deal, but I don't have any BTC nor do I use iTunes.

Let's say you lose. You don't have the money to pay me back. If you had the BTC1.5 to pay me back in a week, then you wouldn't need to borrow my money. If you win, then great. I have an extra BTC0.5. I'd say that since I have no reason to trust you that it might not be such a great idea to lend to you.

I actually installed a bunch of clients, but I find electrum the best. Multibit would be good, but there's no way to encrypt the wallet.

I installed the bitcoin client back in 2011 and then forgot about it. I rediscovered bitcoin earlier this month and got really interested. I managed to get lucky and generate the vanity address 1timANDoUGAzz8f54VdMgThWVLgi9Qx3e. Unfortunately, it's incorrectly capitalised, but I decided it's not worth the extra 2 months to generate a new one.

The main reason to use a new address is to hide the fact that it's you. The reason that the client gives a new address each time is to help you to stay anonymous. The reason you need to stay anonymous is because the entire transaction history is available to everyone. This means that people can see exactly what's going on. If you reuse addresses, it makes it a lot easier for someone to see what's going on with your bitcoins. Reusing an address has no disadvantages if you don't care about everyone seeing exactly what you do with your money (If you're the type of person who tweets about their breakfast and posts on Facebook about their every action, you have nothing to worry about)
