1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: October 14, 2018, 06:40:49 AM
Looks like RX 470/570 are crazy cheap on eBay right now. About $80-90USD before shipping.

Are any of you guys still loading up on GPUs or packing it in?

The VEGAs are still pretty expensive at the moment.

I think the VEGA is expensive is that it is good for mining XMR related coins. I will wait for the price drop to buy more.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia P102-100 Mining GPU's coming up (Mining version of the GTX 1080ti) on: April 25, 2018, 01:03:26 PM
Have you had the chance to test those cards with new ethereum miner from ohgodagirl?Regular 1080ti is making close to 50 mhs with it at low power consumption and i am interested to see if there will be some kind of boost on hash rate on mining version with new miner Cool

Doesn't appear to actually be a miner, but a "runtime" memory strap modifier for GDDR 5x specifically.

Since only the 1080 and 1080 ti (and Titan Pascal) use GDDR 5x on the Nvidia side, there probably won't be a version for anything else - GDDR 5 doesn't NEED it nearly as much.

It was a miner first when they posted it in other thread asking for money or to implement dev fee in it,now its just some kind of program that runs in the background and boost gddr5x speed
Didnt read the new thread from start, sry for fake news Smiley

It works well for ETH mining.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can not flash 2nd AMD gpu... on: January 30, 2018, 09:52:19 AM
I am getting a message from ATIflash that "subsystemD's mismatch"
https://imgur.com/a/TKUlT
What am I doing wrong?

I was able to flash the first card rx580 8gb using GPU-Z, Polaris, ATIflash, but this one is not allowing me.

Do I have to DOS flash it to force it?

Please help.

You can use the -f option is you are sure that is the right rom.

Disappointed, back to Blockchain Aug 11 driver. Mem Oc does not work, not in Wattmann/Claymore(system freeze), overdriventool, Afterburner beta 19 see's nothing.

I hope it supports Windows 8.1
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Metropolis is coming, what to expect? on: August 26, 2017, 01:14:38 PM
Metropolis might not be in full effect this Last week of Sept

2nd update would be almost like death to Miners

We can mine ETC then.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.5 (Windows/Linux) on: June 03, 2017, 11:38:30 AM
Getting hang in opencl call message with R9 390X.
Along with: GPU returned incorrect data
Tried with new riser (powered usb3), same thing.

stats:
+13mV
+0 power limit
1080 clock (stock)
1500 mem (stock)
stock bios

Tried:
new riser (didnt help)
lowering to -i7 (didnt help)
lowering to -i6 (didnt help)
+50mV (didnt help)
+100mV (didnt help)
lowering to -i5 (didnt help)
1050 clock (didnt help)

Help pls.
Other 3x R9 390 mining steady on that same rig...

Did you replace the power cables and the USB cable going to the riser as well?  most of my 'riser fails' have been actually due to those 2 cables and the riser is actually fine.

Since i dont have any more risers, i mounted the 390x directly on x16 slot, with no risers.
That seems to have solved the problem...

Thx for help

I usually put the first GPU in the x16 slot with x16 riser.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will get half million dollars prices by 2030 : Blockchain.info CEO on: April 12, 2017, 03:24:09 PM
I think this is too excessive, 2030 remaining 13 years longer, and now the price is still about $1200, it seems impossible that the price could reach 400 times from now, if the world bank officially using bitcoin then it can be happen.

If the price doubles every year, the price will be much higher.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.3 (Windows/Linux) on: March 11, 2017, 07:51:09 AM
I have all 7970 rigs. I'm still on version 12.0

Is there any real improvement for 7970's in the more recent builds?

For 7970, the speed increase between 12.3 and 12.0 is about 2-3%.
9  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have access to electricity free of charge, how should i mine ? on: February 23, 2017, 07:04:26 AM
If he is having the advantage of free electricity the option to buy a used antminer s7 and go for Bitcoin is it going to be profitable nowadays ?
How much does this device cost and when do u think he will be able to get his money back and make profit on top of that?
Honestly i'd just go for a bunch of used S5s, they cost less if you're going to use free electricity and you should reach ROI in just a few months and profit after that. You could also go all out with the most obsolete, high-hashrate miners like the S2 but i'm guessing OP has a cap on his electrical usage.

S2 is having better results than the S5 but it consumes more power?
What does OP mean ?

Use S5 at least.
10  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have access to electricity free of charge, how should i mine ? on: January 03, 2017, 10:07:47 AM
Ok so i have been offered the prospect of free electricity and am thinking about buying some mining hardware, what is currently the best hardware and what else should i be thinking about?

thanks
Its very nice that someone does offer you a free electricity which is really good to consider when you plan to build a mining farm. The best hardware for mining is antminer s9 as of now and you should consider first on what place you will put those miners and also think off the maintenance. If you could able to handle these things then you will be profitable and reach roi faster since you dont have electricity charges.

I just did a calculation. If the difficulty rise 8% every 13 days, you cannot ROI even with 0.01 dollar electricty price.
11  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Chinese police raid miner factories in its oil capital city, 1k+ miners seized on: December 19, 2016, 02:34:40 PM
Any shady cloud mining sites go down recently? lol
Whats the connection of mining sites related into this news? Maybe you are referring that they are running a cloud mining?I don't think so and they don't really matter to build one and as we can see they are using old miners and as mentioned above its more sufficient in electricity since they are using old miners but they will still be facing violations on stealing electricity.

Indeed, shady cloud mining has nothing to do with miners! These chinese mining operators are really mining bitcoins but they are stealing electricity which is illegal like in everywhere. Shady cloud mining sites don't really have miners. They only try scam people and say they have miners, but they actually don't have any and just makes a ponzi.
Thats the accurate definition of shady cloud mining on which they are just claiming that they are running mining farms but the truth is that those farm doesnt exist at all.
In which part of the world we could able to hear that stealing electricity is legal?None, right? If we are planning to run mining operation we should consider first the electricity cost.

Yeah, that's why they got caught. The government put them in jail and confiscated the miners. What's wrong here too is that maybe these operators are just leasing out their facilities to people who want's their miners to be ran in an environment with cheap electricity. So now the people who send their miners to be ran by them are now gone.

I am wondering how the miners will be disposed?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum - Time to buy or time to sell? on: October 15, 2016, 05:50:09 PM
I think its time to buy the the Ethererum it has a great future and will rise more so I think it would be stupid to not buy it.
You can better sell it later when the price is higher right, you just need some patient.

The Ethereum price has dropped against the bitcoin in the last few weeks. That is a good time to buy.

This is the best time to  buy ETH hence it drop its price which is  really an  opportunity for us  to buy even more because  it would surely  rise up on  upcoming months i guess and we could able to secure profits but still just invest on money that you could  able to  lose anyway because we dont know when price would  rise up.

Not sure about that. The Ethereum price has not dropped much. So we may wait a bit longer to buy.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC = Most obvious way to double your money right now on: October 01, 2016, 07:00:13 PM
It's a gud time to double down. ETH is still cheap comparing to what it will be in a few years time.

I think it is not a time to double down. the Etheruem price is very stable at the moment, it might rise soon.
As Ethereum price have rised recently and now correcting its way down some buy support may be added to ETC. So i think from this level 15-20% pump in ETC price can be predicted.

The volume of the ETC is below 1000 in Poloniex for some time. It might indicate people are losing interest.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC = Most obvious way to double your money right now on: September 20, 2016, 05:52:37 PM
BUY point 0.0022

I will wait for 0.0020 before I buy in.

It might drop to 0.002 for the price of ETC. The ETH has good application for it. So the price is rising at the moment.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC = Most obvious way to double your money right now on: September 06, 2016, 07:33:41 AM
I would not look into ETC again since I always have a gut feeling that more forks are coming soon and that theses guys are just another pump and dump scheme. However the analysis is good but still it does not convince me since I have seen better and worse things.

that could be right. There will be many forks coming into the ETC and ETC will split into many kinds of new coins.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum - Time to buy or time to sell? on: August 23, 2016, 02:35:30 PM
It's pretty stable nowadays. I'm buying small amounts and buying more if it goes down.

It is time to sell and only watch this. It would be a mistake to buy now because we do not anymore the future of Ethereum. Many companies are now turned of from it because of the incompetence of the Ethereum foundation. It will go through a slow collapse that have started after the hard fork. Be careful.

I do no think so. If you observe the price of ETC against the ETH, it dropped almost 50% in the last two weeks.

That is right. I think the ETC is on the down trend at the moment.

That might change after some time in September.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise? on: August 07, 2016, 07:00:14 AM
I think so, so many predictions that say that the price of bitcoin will rise again, even megaupload was saying the same thing, they are even predicting that the price of bitcoin will reach $ 2,000 in early 2017. I think we need something to make bitcoin us into a lot of the time that

do not think the bitcoin price can reach $2000 in early 2017. The mos like price at the time will be $1000.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise? on: July 25, 2016, 10:28:57 AM
and I am sure a time will come when you will say or someone else will say that "I think early investors who accumulated coins at price around $250 to 300 would get more benefits" as the price will increase more in the coming future so leave calculation and collect as much as you ca.

But these early investors takes more risk as the bitcoin might fail in the future. So they should be rewarded more.

It's not that they take more risk, they have got themself a very nice entry point in the market compared to those that enter the market at todays prices. If you look at it from that way, then todays buyers take more risk. But then again, early adopters are early adopter because they spotted the potential of Bitcoin at its very early stage and kept holding with massive gains as result.

Today's price of $650 is very good entry if you look long term. The price will be $1200 within a year.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise? on: July 10, 2016, 10:42:14 AM
The bitcoin will indeed rise to a higher amount soon or later because the bitcoin has a very good future a head with the halving and its growing everyday.
i think bitcoin will rise a lot and see huge amounts of money, most probably it will give all of us big profit and we will become really rich, in my opinion it would be great if it rose a lot

The bitcoin price will rises due to the increase of usages and the number of users It will drop if people do not trust it.

that is the reason I will use some bitcoin to buy things. That will help the circulation of the bitcoin and its price.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise? on: June 25, 2016, 09:51:59 AM
The bitcoin will indeed rise to a higher amount soon or later because the bitcoin has a very good future a head with the halving and its growing everyday.

I think the halving can push the price to around $800. Then the block size increase can push the price to $1500.
