1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL starts taking pre-orders for 1TH Imperial Monarch Miners on: April 04, 2014, 02:34:22 AM

By the time you get your unit, if you ever do..... it will mine about the same btc as you would with an toaster oven hooked up to the network.

Good idea,
I have a toaster you can buy. It's a 54th generation toaster, so I know very well how this thing works  Wink
This is the hottest toaster in the world. Once sold for 500BTC, now on sale for just 200BTC

I also host your pre-toasted bread for just 5BTC per month.

Edit after 5 Month:
Ok, I got informed that this toaster doesn't have any network connection, therefor you get now a discount of 0.1mBTC

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

If you're goin' to bring on the funny, at least add a pic (or two, or three, or...).

All your hosted toasters can be remotely overclocked (note the clock).
Security is not an issue at our hosting facility (note the cameras).
Anything hashed can immediately be obfuscated (note the not one, but two mixers).

Before some smart-ass inquires about cooling all them toasters...

At TMF (Toaster Mining Facility), we were the first to introduce internal cameras to view the innards of each and every Toaster Miner, making sure 24/7 that maximum hashing is achieved.

Speaking of 24/7, a myriad backup generators stand at ready in case of the proverbial struck by lighting event.

Unlike other hosting firms, TMF does not farm out its support center to some Third World Country, but is Red-manned right here in the US of A.

Of course, TMF is not just a hosting facility for your precious miners. Far from it. We also build custom Toaster Miners, hence recently acquiring the state-of-the art overflow oven off eBay.

The next time you're in town, please stop by TMF, whereupon our well-trained flock would be happy to give you the grand tour.

All things considered, I think your imaginary  toaster will hash faster than BFL imaginary monarch. Heck you might get ROI for the kick and giggles where monarch never will!

COMING SOON* TO A CINEMA NEAR YOU!

*In Q2/Q3/Q4. All cinema tickets must be pre-ordered 6 months in advance

OMG! That's so funny , I love it Grin

What's really sad is KNC attitude from the get go is to cater to folks willing to fork 10k+ for hardware as if it spare pocket change! Poor thing don't have time/ resources to offer anything  to small time miners like gridseed and bitmain do. KNC is way biger than that Wink

Criminal intent to defraud maybe present based on prior repeated actions/behavior. Good prosecutor can build this case easily in my opinion. Yet it is also up to consumer to exercise some due diligence when doing biz with such vendors.

R9 290 MSRP is $399. I bought 2 from amazon about a month ago for $ 429 with Battlefield 4. Sold game on ebay and the card did cost me less than $399 Cheesy

If you look on amazon regularly as I do, you will be able to buy r9 290 for $399 or thereabouts .

Is he aware what it takes to creat a single bitcoin now? Sooner it will be easier to dig for gold at the bottom of sea than mining a single coin  Grin

I just ordered my mining gear for $2000..... am I making a huge mistake?
What did you buy for $2000?

I am hoping he got lucky and scored 5x 290s. My feeling tells me that was not the case

1. Who is still doing it and what hashrate are you getting?

2. Any advice on what pool I should join or what mining software I should use, etc?

I just ordered my mining gear for $2000..... am I making a huge mistake?

please respond

To answer your questions :
1-Many people still mining LTC and yes it is still profitable ( google litecoin calculator) .As far as hash rate , that depend on your mining gear. Please see the litecoin hardware comparison list here :
https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison
2-I do strongly recommend auto profit switching pools like middlecoin :
http://middlecoin2.s3-website-us-west-2.amazonaws.com
It will automatically mine the most profitable coin and pay you in btc. If you just want litecoin pools see this page for a list of all pools:
https://litecoin.info/Mining_pool_comparison

Most people use cgminer. Here is a list of mining softwares :

Those raisers are so over priced ! It's almost cheaper just to buy used motherboard with 2 PCI e x16 slots, cpu, and ram off ebay! Or maybe not?

Don't bother looking at brand stores like Office Depot ,Home Depot , menards, or best buy ! The don't have it. I went with new egg 10 feet 14 Awg for $13.99

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812120828

I was laughing at myself when the electrician in my house asking me to plug something to test the Newley installed breaker! Of course nothing fit the pdu cause it's that c 13 needs c14 and I am trying to plug my regular standard ATX to the pdu  Grin
12  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Philosofical question on: January 16, 2014, 01:46:12 AM
If the same variables we have today are intact by the time all 21mil BTC mined, then BTC foundation/ community/trading partners must hire or pay miners to confirm transactions to insure continuity. Having said that I am not sure 4 or 5 years from now those variables will be there at all. Change and unpredictability is the name of the game  Wink

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 06, 2014, 04:52:12 PM
Middlecoin.com vs Multipool.us

I did a split test over 1 week to find out which was the most profitable pool. I pointed 1.800 Khash on each pool (100% identical hardware) and started them at the same time.
(a test should be done over a few months, but I wanted max profit now, so I only did 1 week)

On middlecoin.com it's very easy and simple, and no setup is required at all. However there is less control and much less information available.

On multipool.us I set up an account on Cryptsy and set every alt coin to auto payout to cryptsy. Then I set cryptsy to auto exchange every alt coin to bitcoin as soon as they came in, so this should give more

Middlecoin.com

7 days of mining with 1800 Khash

Paid out: 0.11560480
Remaining balance: 0.00032817
Unexchanged: 0.0096669
Immature: 0.00451747
Total: 0.13011944 (of which 0.01451465 have not yet been paid when I made this post, and also it may not all be paid depending on immature/unexchanged behavior)

Link 2: http://blockchain.info/address/134DF3buwjU9LJLaucYBN1XbDwTDHdESAJ

Multipool.us

7 days of mining with 1800 Khash

Paid out: 0.09583497
Remaining balance: 0
Unexchanged: 0,0010403
Immature: 0
Total: 0.09687517 (of which 0.0096669 is stuck in minor bit's of alt coin that cryptsy won't exchange before there is 1.0 of that alt coin)

Note: Keep in mind that cryptsy have a 0.00050000 BTC fee for bitcoin withdrawl, regardless of how little/much you take it. So if you wan't to take out BTC to your wallet every day, this would come to allot. If you feel safe holding lots of bitcoins in an altcoin exchange, that's less of an issue. (I personally don't like holding bitcoins in altcoin exchanges as they are highly vulnerable to 51% alt coin attacks as far as I understand it)

Link: I have no link for this, since money held in an exchange, does not have a public address. (or any unique address at all)

In conclusion, I pointed all my miners on middlecoin.com after this test.

Thanks for sharing your hard work. Now if I hear one more time that H2O integrity in question, I will lose it Shocked He is making profit because he work his tail off when other pools are either down, hacked or otherwise plane unprofitable in comparison. So nock it off people.

Thank you all for the info. Very valuable for noobs like myself.

Just to make sure I understand it correctly; I run dedicated 30 amp 240v w/10 awg line with l6 30p outlet. I buy pdu rated 30 amp with l6 30p  (24 de rated ) like the APC 9571A and I am good for 5k watt right?

My circuit breaker has  2 spaces empty next to each other but I am not sure what is the total power coming in to the house.

Also, standard ATX psu in the US is rated to use 240v ? I know that all my three rigs are hooked to 120v outlets right now.

I do believe the constant restart and rejection rate is quite high for most as far as I know. From reading previous pages,it seems that it's a common theme among most. My understanding, H2O is working on a fix/s atm. Let's hope things work out as it's a bit tough these days!
