Hey can anyone provide me with a working link to the publish dash slack channel?

Also, it seems to dash talk isn't working anymore.

I wonder if it will be less than 3 months to 4k?

What's the maximum amount desired? I know we could reduce collateral if the number dropped significantly if needed (500 DASH collateral if nodes less than 1000).

I'm curious because imagine if we end up with 4500 MNs at current total circulation. Over 4,500,000 million coins in reserve! Crazy!

In other news, this is the second morning around 6-8 am UTC where we got a big boost, let's hope we can use 0.0148 as a floor going forward!

I think the fact that so few people are selling, is leading me to believe we're far too under priced at the moment.

Lack of volume was leading me to believe we were overpriced, but unlike other alt coins we've increased and sustained irrespective of the others.

0.015 ... now it's 0.01535.

Crushing shorts has never felt so good lol, I'm just concerned about the lack of volume still.

Anyone know what's going on with Poloniex?

I know we don't have a lot of trading volume.... but we just had someone buy 1000 DASH at around 0.015 and the price seems set to use 0.0144 as support finally...

We may see much higher prices given the way the market has been acting. I know the bots/whales are pushing prices ever so higher on minimum volume per hour, but every time price picks up and consolidates we end up at a new launch platform.

I think we're basically repricing dash internally and externally through our markets. The less shorting we get, the better I GUESS. I just hope we aren't somehow crushing shorts so hard that we end up getting too overpriced.

Everything's there for them to get off the ground, touring complete languages for interoperability between chains have been around for a few years but they're getting a big boost at the mo. Maybe it's one of those things that'll take a long time to get off the ground but when it does it will change market dynamics in a huge way

I've always thought Dash could use the Daps layer of the Ethereum blockchain to its huge advantage.

For example some of the more "accessibility" oriented features of Evolution are good when compared to a simple wallet, but we may be about to see a much more general approach emerge that will offer equivalent and potentially fuller features and that cover all electronic assets. (It happened in the 1990s with websites. People would spend 10k on a custom website, then wordpress came along and blew them away for $15 a pop. Other examples include, what booking.com does for Hotels, Google shopping feed does for retailers etc).

Those Dash bond ideas I posted on the previous page may also be perfect smart contract candidates denominated in Dash and collateralised natively on the Dash blockchain. We must think constructively and use everything available IMO.

The reason thats a good match is because Dash is a monetary token and Ethereum is a blockchain applications platform thats specifically designed to securely manage assets that are not Ethereum itself. The distinction was well made by Vlad Zamfir in this interview with the Daily Decrypt. At that point she pushes him on the "emission policy" and he gets a bit evasive, pointing out that she's asking about Ethereum's "monetary properties" which are not yet decided. He says he's more worried about securing transaction receipts.

He almost dismisses it as unimportant because he knows that being a monetary token is not Ethereum's priority. It's technical priority is to act as an "OS" for blockchain based smart contract apps. That is a very telling moment and is totally consistent with what he says and what he says.

(b.t.w. his mum told him to tidy his room before that interview but he only got as far as hiding his underpants  Wink ).

See my last post. I have a rough idea of this being possible. I had been thinking about a decentralized browser, and based on my research into technology that almost makes that possible, plus the addition of all the advances of DASH, I think we could bootstrap a DASH/PAIR exchange using the alternate masternode network as a super fast high node amount network.

50$ servers minimum, only need $100 collateral - this will allow us to scale, but none of that matters until we test creating a decentralized exchange based on a optional node network that securizes it, and set up a governance model for it's continued existence.

We as a community could easily create this given I'm talking having the Dash foundation owning a portion of the project, and doing a scheduled launch through the community only accessible through Evolution.

Start with a Dash/Dex pair, then scale the exchange coin with side chains for dash, aka, derivatives and options. A lot of money can be created, so instead of having central bankers do it, let's create better financial instruments, alongside our new currency, to better grow the network?

The main dev team has too much on their plate, this project would need to co-exist alongside Evolution, as you would trade with you Evolution account.

I was elated to see you are thinking of setting up a decentralized exchange. I've followed the progress of, say, B&C, but my perception is that they have become semi-centralized as they progress from vision to reality. Any interface with fiat will always be a choke-point, imho. I hope you solve it.

I think all 'decentralized exchanges' so far, and there are quite a few of them now, are semi-centralized - even where they use only crypto let alone with fiat.

A truly decentralized exchange between crytocurrencies would be too slow and probably too expensive in fees to be particularly useful for most people even if atomic cross chain transfer tech was built, so its a tough problem.

I also really hope a good solution can be worked out for this.

If you know anyone who could help with coding, my idea was to replicate DASH, set the masternode requirements to the extreme, yet only set the collateral for about 10 DEX (Decentralized Exchange Muney) and utilize all of the great features DASH uses for governance and mining to secure and grow the network.

I don't think speed would be an issue once we got the ball rolling. We could use the mechanics Evan laid out in Masternodes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oracle_machine, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_oracle#Applications, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_box_group

To create a signed at random authorized order book - chain. We could create multiple side chain like derivatives -- which could all be based off Dash.

The idea is we could use the new Evolution DAPI to access this new exchange. It would initially only trade DASH/DEX through Evolution and this offshoot Masternoding network.

In time with funding and development, we could launch this into a more accessible exchange, and maybe start this as a project where the Dash foundation owns a particular percentage of the new project, similar to others proposals I have seen.

Your whole point.

DASH can be copied. We, or someone like us can try again. Not only that, but modifications, whether we make them or others make them, are now possible.

The "authorities" throughout history have resisted change and challenges to their leadership. Corporatism was a small stepping stone to pure Entrepreneurialism, which will be paved through decentralization of all commodities.

This will enable a whole hosts of inventions, and we may even solve the economic calculation problem as a species due to it. That said, insert spooky dystopian counter arguments where the tech works against human liberty and happiness.

But I doubt it. Even those in charge have kids and want freedom. It's just most are blinded by Malthusianism and a sense that we need to control and limit things rather than open and explore things.

Ethereum price going all wonky.

More free-floating BTC capital prised out of tight fists.

Where is the next support level? I don't see one. This might be it for ETH 0.0-anything range.

Will almost certainly drastically over-correct (as did Dash after our ATH)...looking forward to hopefully buying some at a very undervalued price.

I don't know. This rise may be the highest ETH ever gets.

https://etherscan.io/stats/supply

 ETHER DISTRIBUTION OVERVIEW
Genisis (60M Crowdsale+12M Other):   72,009,990.50 Ether
+ Mining Block Rewards:   5,862,265.00 Ether
+ Mining Uncle Rewards:   327,230.00 Ether
= Current Total Supply
78,199,485.50 Ether

So basically, ETH has 5000 blocks a day, at 5 ETH per block.

25,411 ETH mined per day. AT 0.02 that's $210,000approx per day in mining.

Did you know at that rate total supply will double in 12 months?

So does this mean we can file a class action lawsuit for that 1.5 BILLION???

I mean, those people were going to send that to our network. Give it to the Foundation I say. Cheesy

That said, this is ridiculous, what am I to make of this story? Google Translate is horrible, and the website is down. What should I think about this  Huh Huh Huh

G.avinMcInnes, masternodes coming online miss one cycle of payments, not sure if you'd seen that as I don't think it's mentioned much. Just curious, any ideas for a budget proposal?

I'm thinking about creating a decentralized exchange, and would like to work on a white paper with someone in the community about it sometime.

If any of you know C++, let me know. I'm a web developer and could do most of the theorycrafting of course, but I would need someone with the programming chops to develop a trading engine that could trade dash with X.

If someone thinks they can do that, give me a call. With a little more work we could put something out on the market  - a decentralized DASH exchange.

It's simple really.

Cheers

That's certainly not lacking ambition Grin Definitely a hot one, so much demand for that and it looks like it might happen fast, it could be something that would work really well with some of the steps so far towards Evolution.

Dash's infrastructure plays an important role in making it happen.

next target : Litecoin ?

Litecoin is kept afloat by high liquidity Chinese exchanges.

Thats all it's good for now - bottle top trading. Still that can be an end in itself. I think while it remains on those exchanges it will stay at some minimum marketcap but if they were to drop it it would probably be curtains.

If we bump Litecoin a little more and spark a move like we saw with Bitcoin into Ethereum that would be the end of Litecoin prices as they are now. It has no useful features, and that's ignoring the dozens of more technical copy projects based off of it.

You should read my last post. We need to avoid 0.007 like the plague. If we could go to 0.025 and sit there all year, we would be the next ETH in the troll box in every exchange.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: March 17, 2016, 06:53:07 PM
Think about it people, DASH at ETH prices would help ALL DASH projects through DGbB and it would force the markets to acknowledge how great DASH is, which frankly has been long past due.

Not only are we the best deflationary currency around, but we offer an internal investment scheme, which benefits long positions.

Not only that, but we offer privacy and instant transactions. In other words, our developers knew what we wanted, and provided that first.

So what's next for DASH?

Well, with Evolution on the horizon we know that we're going to continue to focus of ease of use, and finally get the larger population of the world into cryptocurrency.

Ambitious, but DASH is up for the challenge.

This is the 1/wk chart. I like tracking trends, and what I see on this chart is a trend towards testing ATH. When? well who know with this crazy chart.

This goes all the way back to our ATH, and as you can see, we had the usual P&D all cryptocurrencies have at launch, followed by another pump, which did NOT have a dump, but sustained profit taking and consolidation lower.

Once we hit the low of 0.005 (a better low than the previous 0.003 and 0.004 we saw in 2014) in 2015, we have been on a steady trend upwards.

If we look at the 3/day chart we see the low of 2015, followed by this steady trend. Ultimately we need to avoid the previous rally low of 0.007 if we want to increase interest and participation in the coin, and reward early investment.

So what do we see in the 1 day up close?

Well for one, proft taking today. But we do see a steady trend upwards.

Ideally if this is sustained, we can truly test whether or not the reserve market will liquidate itself at a given price point. We know we can always reduce collateral, but raising would be very hard.

So ideally we'd see a loss of some masternodes only at sustained price points.

At some point, we have to evolve into a less volatile currency, and we do that by bringing in investment through our price. If we sustain price gains, we can finally get the recognition we know we deserve by investing in the most worthy of cryptocurrencies.

What do you folks thinks going to happen in the next 3 days? My bet is ETH DOWN  /  DASH UP!

If anyone can call any whales into the party, now would be a good time. With volume increased and ETH looking ever more shaky, if we increase and sustain 0.015 again, we could see new interest and more volume.

Not only that, but like others have said, BTC may be on the verge of a rise, if we could increase the price of DASH, we could create another safe haven for 2nd tier crypto assets owners looking to diversify.

Meanwhile, as toknormal has mentioned recently, DASH and BTC are the two most amenable stores of value on the market right now. We need to take volume from ETH, and establish ourselves as the 2nd dominant alt coin in terms of volume, price, and other market indicators.

I doubt we'll surpass ETH market or LTC market caps anytime soon, but with a proper launch, into interesting times and markets, we could "steal" attention and market share away from 2nd tier crypto assets.

If anyone wants to shill right now for DASH, remember to share them this: https://dashtalk.org/threads/february-2016-dash-core-team-monthly-report.8328/

We're one moment away from blasting BTC out of the water in terms of functionality. We simply need more attention and investment like we deserve.
