1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinTracking - Profit/Loss Portfolio and Tax Reporting for Digital Currencies on: February 05, 2020, 10:14:47 PM
@calculatorduck.
Thank you that you are interested in using our service and raising those questions.
1. Yes this could be tracked. We have several transaction types like Income and Trades as described here: https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000018272?lang=en. This article includes of course link to other FAQ articles about Mining.
Poloniex transactions could even be imported via API as lotīs of other exchanges as well.
The gains will be calculated according the method based on purchase pools as described here: https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000031793?lang=en
2. You could enter all past transaction and create reports as long as you have subscribed to our service. Actually it is required to enter all past transactions to have consistent reports (see FAQ about purchase pool). E.g. if you signup now you can add data from 2013 (or even earlier) until today.
3. Of course you only pay the difference price once you upgrade to the next level.
4. Sure you can do. The only thing you keep in mind is that a transactions has a unique TradeID assigned by the API provider. This is a "is this transaction already there marker". That means if you delete a transaction which is imported via API it will be re-imported again. If you adjust the amount or other values of your transactions this entry will remain according your changes and not be re-imported.

For specific cases you could always reach out to us via our Ticket tool within your account or sending an E-Mail to support@cointracking.info

Thank you very much for answering my questions, it sounds like I will be signing up soon as it should meet all of my needs.

A few questions before I sign up:

1. My income is from mining. If I mined directly to an exchange (e.g Poloniex) and then traded to BTC, then sent that BTC to Coinbase, can that be tracked or will it look like double transactions? Is there any sort of tax-advantaged way to track these lots across services?

2. If I want to use the service to generate a tax report for more than one year (2019 and prior years), do I need to sign up for multiple years of cointracking, or can I do several separate years report with one year active subscription to cointracking?

3. If I sign up for Pro and end up needing Expert can I just pay the difference to upgrade, or do I need to pay full price all over again?

4. If I use API import can I still manually enter or delete transactions if needed?

Thank you for answering if you can.

Miner just seems to stop mining at certain points, nothing is happening, no crash, just stops mining like it's in pause mode. Checking MSI Afterburner, all clocks are dropped down like it's not mining anything and miner screen is just sitting on idle. Is this a known issue? I have 8x 1080 ti rig using this new 1.09a version. It's been paused like this for 10 minutes now, I will be restarting it in a minute.

Update: I was about to restart it but I just decided to hit backspace to see if something happened and soon as I did it kick started again? Then I got this:

[ERROR  ] 18/05/09 22:52:56 submit_upstream_work stratum_send_line failed
[ERROR  ] 18/05/09 22:52:56 ...retry after 30 seconds

[ERROR  ] 18/05/09 22:54:28 Stratum authentication failed
[ERROR  ] 18/05/09 22:54:28 ...retry after 30 seconds

And then after a few more retries it kicked in and is working again.

Few more pauses have occurred, some for 2mins, some for shorter, but I don't know if it's because Suprnova is overloaded with 11k miners or what the deal is. Switching back to 1.08 overnight and switching to 1.09 in the morning when I can monitor it again.

I'm getting the same error also on Suprnova. It works fine with Suprminer.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: March 01, 2018, 10:10:39 PM
I can't get any SSL connections to pools to work with Awesomeminer. For example, if I connect directly to the SSL pool with DSTM or Claymore it works fine, when I use Awesome miner I get a connection error. I'm using the correct port and specifying the correct ssl prefix in the URL.

Any ideas?

This happens on multiple pools so it seems to be a setting in Awesomeminer I can't find or some way it's passing the info to the miner. The command line looks correct in the miner window, but it still doesn't work like it does solo.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner v0.5.8 (Linux / Windows) on: February 12, 2018, 09:17:58 PM
Just crashed again, this time:

Code:
protocol version 01000030 not supported

right before the crash.

I'm not sure why this is happening all of the sudden as it's been really stable for awhile.

Based on the above, I'd guess that '01000030' is the stratum protocol "mining.notify" method job version for whatever pool you're connecting to - it seems that 0.5.8 added support for '01000020', but now '01000030' is also required. Meaning, pools are updating their software, but miners need to catch up. Is this on nicehash or suprnova (based on your previous posts)?

dstm, if I'm on the right track here, have you investigated whether dropping any job version checks is feasible?

That crash was on Nicehash. I had another one today that just returned:

Code:

Ok, so it happened again today that there was a disconnect and my AMD rig mining on Claymore recovered, but both my nvidia machines hard crashed DSTM so mining stopped. This is really weird as I had been running DSTM for a couple of months and this behavior only started in the last week or so.

I was previously mining on suprnova, so I switched to nicehash to see if the pool was the issue but no, it still happened.

All I see in the log is below:

Code:
2018-02-10 5:00:18 AM|#  connection closed by server r:0
2018-02-10 5:00:18 AM|#  reconnecting

2018-02-10 5:00:30 AM|stratum subscribe failed

That was the last thing recorded before the crash.

I'm also seeing some sort of failure or disconnection recently on both of my rigs. I've been using this miner for a couple of months now and never had this issue but over the last week it's happened 3 times where the miner just disconnects and closes. I tried running it through Awesomeminer as well and it looks like Awesomeminer will try multiple times to restart it but each time it will fail to connect and then close/crash. If I wait a minute and try again manually it will work as normal. I didn't have logging enabled (but I do now) so I can't say much more than that, but this is the first time this has been happening to me.

When it happens, it happens on both of my nvidia rigs running DSTM. My AMD rig running claymore shows a disconnect, but it recovers. So it's definitely a connection issue with the pool or network connection since claymore shows it too, but DSTM doesn't recover for whatever reason. I've seen DSTM work fine after a pool error or disconnect before though, so I'm not sure what changed.

I just downloaded the latest version of the wallet, it sees my wallet data but won't sync- it's showing 0 active connections to the network no matter how long I wait. Any idea what the cause might be?

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Anything still worth mining on some Radeon 370s? on: September 08, 2017, 10:31:33 PM
I have a few from mining ETH nearly 2 years ago but that doesn't seem worth it on these cards now and one of them only has 2GB memory. Any altcoins still profitable to mine on a few 370s?

Any reason the power fluctuates so much? Is it the algo or the miner?

I get near identical 17MH/s with -i 18 on a GTX 1060 6GB with this when compared to spmod5, however check your power usage this miner is very erratic (it goes up and down quite a bit) while spmod is stable. Anyone else noticed anything like this?

Ya my power usage is all over the place.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question on PCI-E USB Powered Risers VER # on: July 22, 2017, 02:50:46 AM
I realize this post is from last year, but no one really seems to have information on the differences in the risers. Based on the component changes is there anything wrong with the ver 003 risers? I have some and am considering using them with some GTX 1070 cards but I do'nt know if buying new ones is needed.

Im using VER003 (green PCB) and VER006 (black PCB) for all my builds .

VER003 arrived with 24 inch blue USB cable
VER006 with 20 inch black USB cable

VER003 have a M193 G1084-33 voltage regulator
VER006 have a FS1084 voltage regulator

Both regulators have On-chip thermal shutdown protection( provides protection against any combination of overload and ambient temperature that would create excessive junction temperature )

In the past few months i had to replace only one riser ( VER 006 ) , i had no time to check what was the problem , maybe just a USB cable .

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question on voltage monitoring? on: July 10, 2017, 01:33:21 AM
Afterburner contains a warning that allowing two programs to monitor voltage could potentially damage a card. I also found some old forum threads where people using Afterburner and HWmonitor were having voltage spikes.

My question is this- I use EVGA Precision to adjust the clocks and fans on my cards. It has a voltage monitor that cannot be disabled. I mine using ccminer 2.0 which also reports the power draw of the card intermittently...is there any conflict doing this? Does ccminer actually report the card's watts by accessing the card VRM?

Anyone know?

good question  but you may need to try evga boards to get an answer

https://forums.evga.com/

if they give one to you please post back to us here.

I actually just asked on the ccminer thread here. I'm sure EVGA's software accesses the VRM monitor but I don't know if mining software does too...or if it even matters in this case. Only Afterburner seems to mention it, but some googling did turn up some people who used two monitoring softwares and claimed they damaged their cards or had instability.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 2.0 - opensource - GPL (tpruvot) on: July 10, 2017, 01:30:28 AM
Does anyone know if ccminer 2.0 accesses the VRMs of a card to report power usage?

The reason I ask is because Afterburner has a warning stating that two programs monitoring voltage from the VRMs at the same time can be dangerous, I've also seen some reports of voltage spikes because of this with other monitoring programs.

I use EVGA Precision to adjust the clocks and fan speeds of my cards and it has a voltage monitor that can't be disabled it seems. I don't want it to conflict with mining software. I have no idea if this is relevant to ccminer so I thought I'd ask.

Also why is my CPU usage so high when I try it?
