1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcore (BTX): Let's vote for our slogan! on: November 30, 2017, 11:13:00 AM
Bitcore - The Currency Of The People
Bitcore - The Pink Future

But "Bitcore - Currency Of The People" should be enough, no need for a "the"

Personally I don't like a slogan that tells people what something is NOT or something do NOT do - it should give a glimpse of what it stands for and not the other way around.
If it comes to cryptocurrency it isn't that revolutionary to NOT fork and the slogan may be outdated in some months.

Another bad name would be "Moon Lambo Moon Lambo" or any other reference to moons in this context of cryptocurrencies - couldn't sound more suspicious for a project who wants to establish itsself in longterm.

If it will be for and "of the people" a latin name doesn't sound that great and wellknown, does it?

I think big brands have something in common for a reason - their slogans are simple and understandable most of the time.

Sorry for the critics.
There wasn't any suggestions from my side so far, so: Good job!

those who bought $100 of lisk ICO, value is now million dollar.
So don't sell your Elix, because this is your path to make million dollars

WHAT!!! What are you talking about? I bought Exactly $100 worth of Lisk in the ICO and received around 1400 Lisk (I don't remember the exact number). Lisk is at $5.48 right now. No where near $1 million.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Well, have not checked history, but saw this: https://twitter.com/Dave5anders/status/914361114749698048

Even in those comments you can read the truth.
Please, don't believe anything you read, just because it was twittered. That's a rather bad habit in this world of cryptocurrencies.

Good luck!

i am disappointed btx holders  ll get less % than btc holders, i boght and holding but i fell like i am betrayed

I'm note sure you really understood the announcement.

Please, can you give me an example calculation how this would give you the feeling of being betrayed?

Hey community,

is it important to encrypt my wallet? Staking then possible, when my wallet is encrypted?

Thx,
lpxcc

Don't have to be encrypted and it's not staking.
It's an airdrop which will end, if everything is distributed - most important part:
You have to have at least 10 BTX on your own address in your wallet.

For November distribution you have to register your address, which will be at the earliest possible in October, guides will be provided in some time.

So tired of this. Sold your BTX now if you afraid of the price drop, I'll buy it. Let team do what they do and stop writing bullshit.

I like the discussion and people who come with their opinions and ideas - this is an active community.

So far I support most of the new rules from the latest announcement but I'm interested in new ideas as well - part of that can be bullshit, but sometimes even that can lead to good or interesting follow ups.

If there're some good ideas, the devs can adapt them or at least think about them and interact with the community; so far they're doing a really good job in my opinion.

I don't know how to receive the 3% weekly airdrop.
I have claimed more than 10 btx on 10 September but I haven't received any free coins.

The wallet is almost always offline but it shouldn't be a problem I suppose.

I guess your BTX are in your own wallet?
Are there more than 10 on a single Address?

There have to be at least 10 BTX per address - some people have problems because they have for example 20 BTX in their wallet but then again they have just 2-7 BTX on each of their addresses.

Wow BTX seems to really be coming into it's own the last few days. Kudos to those making it ALL happen. Grin

As far as I understood the marketing only just started.
I'd guess with some substantial statements other than "3%" or "to the moon" but with a view of its possibilities, this project still is in its beginning stage.

i got my bitcore today ,so happy every monday i can get 3% airdrop. if the airdrop mantain 3years , maybe all wo can get rich ,so sad the bitcoin is dumping so hard.
How to get this airdrop?

Just read the first post of this thread carefully and ask more specific questions if you still have some.

Short:
1. Download the wallet and let it sync
2. Get at least 10 BTX (Claim your BTX if you've had some Bitcoin in april on your own address with a ratio of 1:1 and/or buy yourself some at cryptopia for example)
3. Transfer your BTX to your own wallet
4. Wait for monday to get your 3% - as long as this airdrop continues like that

Once your (at least) 10 BTC are on your own address, the wallet can be offline as well - you still get your 3%

Edit:
Or mine yourself some BTX e.g. with a pool (but for that you have to read even more)

do we still have weekly airdrop as the main page mention?
until November 2nd yes.

At least for now.
There's a discussion if this method really will be the best for the project.

There're some ideas (unofficially) like:
- do as planned and end the weekly 3% airdrop on 2nd November with the airdrop (90% to BTX holder, 10% for devs)
- do the airdrop, but only with 25%, then continue with 3% weekly for better growth in community to get more people on board more easily to get this coin known widely faster
- favor the people with more BTX and/or those who hold them longer

(and so on?)

I hope you will increase amount of airdrop like 7% 🔥🔥🔥
And whats the matter of this? For me that makes no sense at all. Just greedy peoples. I'm here since almost the beginning and 3% looks good to me. Maybe enlarge the duration but not increasing.
We not want to get more. Increasing airways will attract more people. I'm with BTX at first of his existence too. And I'm satisfied with 3%. But remember the excitement when the airdrop was bigger.
Perfect marketing would be an increase in interest depending on the amount of the deposit.
For example:
the top 1-100 wallets - 6%,
the top 101-500 wallets - 5%,
the top 501-1000 wallets - 4%,
1001 - 3%.
First, it's interesting to see if you are in the right group, and secondly, it will force people to fight, buy more, sell less.
Metamorphin, please consider this option.

Everyone is equal, everything is fair.
Let's keep this a solid investment, play games with the shitcoins please.
What's the point of buying more with the current system? Where is the fight, where is the competition? Personally, I would have bought more if top wallets will receive more. I'm sure, what most of those who have money for investment think same as me.

Maybe it's not about motivate people to buy more if they already have their share but to bring more people to get at least some (e.g. 10) of this.
I guess the way of "few quantity for a large community" is way more important than "high quantity for some persons because they want to be in the top 100".

Those who believe in the potential of this project will get their part - 3% will be more in absolute numbers when you're in the top 100 instead of the top 1000, it doesn't have to be 6% - It's way better to use this extra 3% to prolong the duration of distribution.

[...]

its funny watching the morons try to artificially increase the price by moving their .1 and .2 BTX buys up .00000001 over the next highest ask every 20 seconds

So far I didn't get into the details about the procedures on exchanges and so I thought that this aren't some morons but bots. Am I wrong?

Thanks for pointing that out, I was one of those under the impression that it would be one huge distribution on November 2nd.
I think what Bitcore needs to reach a new height is more marketing. It is basically invisible.

--ypsi

Any guesses how to?

Not sure what their actual marketing moves and thoughts are - except their thread here with its "come for 3% weekly" promotion.
I didn't stumbled about an articles about BTX so far (doesn't have a significance, since I just read some articles a day).

Do they have a slogan or some maxim which can be spread?

I mean except: Look at our distribution with 3% weekly - this is great, but it shouldn't be the most interesting part.
Another one could be: We're your b*tch. We will try everything without long discussions, when other people are just talking about. Well.. could be a weakness as well, but most important: not catchy at all

Is there one good line or even some really good sentences which will be good for spreading the message, for marketing? This 3% thing might be a good hook, but it should be an introduction, not the most important part.

A lot of projects (in general, not crypto related) claim to be THE allrounder when other projects with a specific use case will succeed easier because people can grasp it in a better and more understandable way.

Maybe some spare money for a better marketing and perhaps a workover which will work out the strength of this project in some easy comprehensible sentences?

I heard they are thinking about changing the rules to prevent a massive drop at 2nd Nov?

Something like already distribute a part of it in October - is there something I have to consider?

Depending on how much you have in your wallet Smiley more is better! I have 175k rain and sometimes is dropping over 24h 1600 rain sometimes 20 but it is perfect income! I'm happy rain holder! Let's buy some more rain it's cheap!

Probably it will be cheap again. Could still be a good deal to sell them for the actual price for you? At least some of them.

I'm just waiting that the pump phase will be over with all of these "much undervalued" "those who dump are dumb" "gonna be a millionaire" comments after a 2-3 weeks pump.
15  Local / Projektentwicklung / Re: Historie gescheiterter Projekte - Welche Projekte kennt ihr? on: August 27, 2017, 05:48:12 PM

Was mir soweit auffällt:

Edit:
Es gibt hier diesen Thread über vergangene bzw. tote Projekte: Necronomicon thread: Altcoins which are dead.

Thank you!
I was searching for some informations. Someone told me about this coin but till now I couldn't find a lot of informations.
I'm curious how this project will develop! Smiley

Just synchronized the wallet. Have to create an account on an exchange to get the chance to be part of the rain I guess .

So I've set up everything and chose some random projects and I got some questions.
Perhaps I'll answer them myself in some days, but eventually someone can share some of their knowledge.

1) I've just chosen some projects from this Whitelist. I've read something like:
One project for GPU, one for CPU and maybe for each one some with low Resource share, if there is no work.

Did I understand that right?
Are there specific projects which would be recommended at the moment if we don't talk about the subjective preferences?

I'll probably try different projects over the next days - each setting for 1-3 days to compare them and to learn more about the different "Preferences" and all those sub projects I can choose from.

My specs at the moment:
Mainboard: ASUS Prime X370-Pro
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700, 8x 3.00GHz
RAM: G.Skill RipJaws V schwarz DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR4-3200, CL16-18-18-38
GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11G

2) Anything in general I can keep in mind in the beginning?

3) Is it preffered to run the CPU at 100% or better at 50-80% if it comes to durability? Of course I'm talking about the time, I didn't use the pc at all.

4) I didn't understand the concept of the Magnitude and how to raise it (probably way to early to think about that?) - is there something I should care about?

Perhaps someone can give some advices.

Greetings

I am sure you will get plenty of support at https://steemit.com/trending/gridcoin and slack http://teamgridcoin.slack.com/

#gridcoin irc is also a good resource for getting info.

Thank you!
There're some problems with Slack (I prefer Slack for other projects as well) and I can't register myself through the sign-up site.
I found the telegram channel where they told me that I should try it later again and with steemit, reddit and this thread I still have a lot to read.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: August 21, 2017, 08:25:12 PM
Hello guys,
I just stumbled upon Gridcoin on my search for projects with a real use which already are kinda established and without a community going full "moon-lambo" talking.
Since I'm rather new to cryptocurrencies and seeing all the hypes about ICOs I'm glad I found one like this.

As far as I could read (here and on reddit) this system looks very useful/supportive. So I can support projects I like with my own PC that helps people and their work.
Not sure if I can earn enough Gridcoin to pay off my additional electricity costs if I would leave my pc running 24/7 or if there are other benefits for doing so, but whenever I'm online, this wouldn't be a problem at all.

In the next days I've quite a lot to read. First step would be to follow some instructions I've found to register myself in some pool.
After buying or getting some GRC I'll try to do it without a pool.

I'll probably edit this post if I set up everything.

One question in general:
If I have some difficulties or problems, which platform should I prefer to ask for help?

Greetings,
SamsaCid

Edit:
I did it. I followed this instruction to set up BOINC and BAM! and used this one to set up the Gridcoin wallet. Easier than I thought but I needed some hours to read about it. I just added some random projects - can't be wrong as long as they are on this Whitelist.
