Okay, so if I ran dual AMD cards in Crossfire mode, would that work? Or was I reading right on another thread that each card had to have a monitor?

I really don't understand how BTC mining works. Why is GPU power so much more important than CPU/RAM power? I have an i7 Quad-core 3.09GHz with 24GB DDR3, but I'm not a big gamer, so I just put an EVGA 1GB GTX 460 in it. I didn't even know what a bitcoin was 3 weeks ago, so I'm still just screwing around, but you're telling me that if I just put an $800 video card in my rig, I can make my own?

That's very cool. I registered for a bitfloor account, now I'm just waiting on a confirmation email. Using Bank of America to purchase BTC would be the way to go, I think. I'm trying to work things out where each month I'm putting a little into BTC investment.

Yankee,
I wanted to publicly respond to your company's response to my customer service inquiry. Whether as a result of my PM to you moments ago or just as the natural result of the problem being worked out over time, I have just confirmed that my BTC address was funded, and the processing fee refunded.
BitInstant is a legitimate company providing a valuable service for customers buying and selling in a worldwide market. I will continue to recommend your services in the future.

One thing I hear a lot of is people freaking out about security and using false information for their BitInstant transfers. They don't realize that that puts them in an awkward position if they have problems later (especially if they just made up the info on the spot and didn't write it down). There is absolutely NO reason to use a fake name or email address on the BitInstant form! None! I know what you're thinking, but even that's not a good reason!
rastaj, it really sucks that your first experience was bad. I've had several really good transactions in a row before my first one that went south this past Tuesday. I'm disappointed about that transaction, but I don't think anyone's trying to scam you.

This is a total newbie question, I know, but is there a good reason why no site seems to exist where I can safely plug in my credit card, pay one nominal fee, and receive BTC in return? I use BitInstant almost exclusively, although I am set up to use Mt. Gox in conjunction with Dwolla, but I've never understood why that third party had to be involved.
It may seem off topic, but I'm getting at the transaction fees thing from the end user perspective. With BitInstant I pay the 4% plus the $3.95 ZipZap fee.

Yankee,
On Tuesday, Feb 12 at about 1730EST, I placed an order (Order ID 6208dfee-f104-4c23-b556-c6ed244576e6) for a Cash to BTC Address transfer. I received a confirmation email from ZipZap but not from BitInstant. At about 1830, I chatted with customer service, and was told the transfer would be handled manually, and would take one day. I waited a day, received no more communication, and this morning emailed support. This time I asked for a refund of the processing fee, as well. I heard nothing back.
I've had no problems using BitInstant in the past. I don't like paying double fees (BitInstant and ZipZap), but the speed of the transfers makes it worth it. But, if the transfer takes 2 days, I feel like a chump for paying AND waiting.
Thanks for your help.
