This could also explain how my account got hacked recently.

no it does not.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Network fee estimation on: January 31, 2018, 07:11:44 PM
Step 1:
Keep track of all the transactions that have been broadcast to the Bitcoin network which are not yet in a block. Keep a record of the size of the transactions, and the fee that each transaction is offering.

Step 2:
Keep track of the recent blocks that have been solved.  Keep a record of the number of transactions included in the block and the fees that made it into the block.

Step 3: Perform a statistical analysis of the unconfirmed transactions that have been broadcast to the Bitcoin network, and (using your statistical model) attempt to predict the rates, quantities, sizes, and fees of the transactions that are likely to be created in the next few hours.

Step 4:  Assume that the typical miner will make rational profit driven decisions and that they are not receiving any revenue outside of the transaction fees and block subsidy.

Step 5: Using your predictions of future transactions along with your knowledge of the current backlog, calculate the minimum fee that would make it into each of the blocks over the next few hours.

Step 6: Publish (or use) your results as a guideline on how big of a fee you'll need to pay if you want your transaction confirmed quickly.

Extra credit:  You can improve your model if you can predict which transactions the typical mining pool is likely to drop from its mempool.

Thank you, however, I doubt this is how electrum (or bitcoin wallets) get the fees for Sending btc.

I am sure there is a simpler way
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Network fee estimation on: January 31, 2018, 04:56:13 PM
Hello,

How does electrum (or any other wallet) compute the optimal network fee for a bitcoin transaction ?
Or how does this website https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ compute the appropriate estimate fee ?

I know that you need to take in consideration the number of input/output, and you need to consider the number of unconfirmed transaction, however I want a technical way to compute it myself.

Please do not reply with an API link or any third party service, I would like to do it using opensource tools only.
4  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [ANN] Buysomebitcoins.com - Instant bitcoin purchase with credit / debit cards on: January 16, 2018, 01:52:21 AM
I'm no competitor. Feel free to check my posts.

Answer my charge, if you care to defend the thief so much.

Why should ANYONE trust their money to this proven thief?!?!?

If I got to chose between a website selling BTC instantly against Visa or Mastercard, PCI compliant, secure and regulated, THE ONLY service I can use in South Korea or Africa knowing that my bank and laws got my back in case of ANY issue vs your btcpoop which is not only shaddy but unregulated, which long history of scams and admins taking btc of users to buy cars or drugs, the choice is pretty simple.

If you got scammed, why not dispute the transaction with your credit card company ? why not take the company to court ? how hard is that ?

There is new owner at BTCPOP since almost 2 y. Since that there is no any issues with operational security. New owner have sent a lot ow own BTC to compensate stolen funds. So do not bs about pop scam now

Second. Balambala joined btcpop much later. He maid a lot of talks. He repaid few loans. He was BS to me about license form Lithuania centralbank. He as creating opinion of rich and trusted businesman. Then just before BCH fork that scammer took money and stop all communication

His team (or himself) confirmed that balambala is owner of buysomebitcoins and told me on twitter - our boss traveling. later they blocked me.

Maybe you know a lot,  bitgamerz, but I am investing also over 3y. I have repaid over 300BTC of loans. Balambala/buysomebitcoins case is not a first scam case.  He personaly confirmed he will repay before BCH fork. He continue to do business, he continue to collect your and other info when do btc buy/sell. Good luck if once he will reuse your data for next scam.

Could be life will teach you to tell thank you to people who prevent new scam, instead of advocating/questioning such  facts. Just imo

On this forum, there are more false accusations than legitimate ones.

I am talking from my own experience using that website, I have never had any issue, and none of my friends complained even once about it.

When you buy something with a credit card, if you do not get what you paid for, you contact your bank and dispute the payment, you get a full refund and the seller loses its license and get banned from card networks.

The fact that this website has been active for more than a year without interruption tells me they are legit.

Nonsense,

Credit card payments are secured by banks, if you place a purchase and do not get your BTC, you can directly file for a dispute - you have like 5 months or more to dispute a card transaction - this website deliver the btc instantly, how do you explain that ?

Moreover, I personally use it regularly like thousands of other people without any issue

Are you sure you are not competitors trying to discredit this service ?
7  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [ANN] Buysomebitcoins.com - Instant bitcoin purchase with credit / debit cards on: January 13, 2018, 12:58:18 AM
I don't know whats your deal with that website and why you call it scam.

Im sayin that it has been and still is one of the best source to get btc 24/7 with debit card and that all my korean contacts are buying from there

8  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [ANN] Buysomebitcoins.com - Instant bitcoin purchase with credit / debit cards on: January 12, 2018, 05:22:52 PM
Proof is always good. Allow me.

https://prnt.sc/hux8so
https://prnt.sc/hux9ay
https://prnt.sc/hux9kw

And if that isn't sufficient, please, please go over to BTCPOP, sign up, and find the chatbox. (On the dashboard, can't miss it.). Just go there, and ask whoever is in there what they think of "Buysomebitcoins" AKA "Balambala".

Stay safe, and stay away from this scammer. He gives a bad name to P2P.

Is this website safe or a scam  Huh

The website is legit, that's where South Koreans buy with their cards to bypass the local regulations and buy cheaper than local exchanges.

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin transactions, best approach to reduce fees on: December 23, 2017, 02:19:15 AM
Hello,

I have 10 BTC in my wallet and I need to send small amounts to various bitcoin addresses.

I can not send in bulk (paytomany) because transactions are automated (daemon - command line).

Due to bitcoin price and the hike in mining fees, I will be sending at 0.0005 btc per transaction (1 output and 1 input).

My problem is : the first transaction wont be confirmed fast, therefor all the other transactions after it wont get confirmed till the parent one is.

Is there any tip to make transaction confirmations unrelated to their parents ? like using the same change address, or sending the coins using a different approach ?
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / Bitcoin regulation : Optimal country / State on: December 17, 2017, 03:59:52 AM
Hello,

*I am gathering some data to build a data-set from different people and wonder if you have a minute to answer my questions :*

You are a Bitcoin / Crypto user, and you are in need to use a service provided by a company, let's say an exchange, or payment processor, wallet or any kind of tool you absolutely need.
For the sake of this example, let's say you can not find any other alternative and you are forced to use THAT service

Question :

- Based on your country of residence, you would trust a company registered in which country ? and why ?

*-> Example : I am American and I would trust a US exchange because of regulations.

13  Economy / Trading Discussion / [POOL] Exchange Preferences on: December 15, 2017, 03:11:19 PM
Quick question traders if you have a moment, this will help a lot:

1- Which exchange interface do you like the most (UI) ? Why ?
2- Which exchange chart do you like ? Why ?
3- Which exchange do you use / trust more ? and again, why ?

Feel free NOT to support your answer with an argument. Your opinion (even if not popular) can help a lot in this study.

I appreciate your participation.
14  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Which name would you chose ? on: December 12, 2017, 04:56:55 AM
Found a nice name. I did the DNS name search just now, and it's available.

coinxbit.com

Its available when I am posting. Tell your contact to grab it before someone else grab it.

The exchange admins already bought a premium domain.
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / {MARGIN} Technical question on: December 11, 2017, 05:42:05 PM
Hello,
Quick question regarding margin trading on a bitcoin exchange (polo or Bitfinex or any other offering Margin trading).

**Scenario :**

*for the sake of this example, we will assume 1 btc = 1000.00 USD. and I will be trading on a USDBTC trading pair*

I deposit 1 btc in my margin account, and want to GO LONG @5x for 5000.00 USD.
I get a loan of 5 BTC from lenders of that exchange to fill my position.

The question is :

If I have BTC in my account, and lender provide BTC for margin trading, how does the exchange execute a BUY order when I open my position if I do not have USD ?

I assume there is some sort of USD/BTC conversion when opening my position and buying btc ?

I would really appreciate a technical answer.

PS : Please please please, do not just paste a link to a FAQ or refer me to the exchange calculator, I have checked before asking here and I need a technical reply, some sort of mathematical equation.

16  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Which name would you chose ? on: December 08, 2017, 05:21:55 AM
The decision has been made, a premium domain has been purchased.

An announcement will follow in few months.

What name is more suitable for an exchange.

Please, I am not involved in this project, just trying to help a contact of mine on BitcoinMarkets to find a decent name, and I think there is no better than the bitcoin community to get honest feedbacks.

19  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buy bitcoin with my credit card without ID ? on: October 14, 2016, 03:11:26 PM
Hi, I am wondering if there is any website or company that can sell me some btc without ID ? I just need 20 bucks for website ads.

Thank you
you can try localbitcoins, maybe some trader can trade with you for credit card money.

No thank you, I tried LocalBItcoins and Paxful, sellers charge a way too high fee and want me to send them my ID, A selfie, a selfie with my ID, a selfie with credit card, and then send them my credit card number, expiration, cvv, my billing address and phone number in chat ?

This should be illegal, they are processing credit card payment without PCI-compliance and they can use my card anytime anywhere they want, HELL NO.

My problem was solved, I used www.buysomebitcoins.com and I bought the bitcoins I need, stop giving me your useless answers.

20  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buy bitcoin with my credit card without ID ? on: October 13, 2016, 04:01:37 PM
it would required a prepaid cc which would any way be useless since theres no services offering to sell bitcoin without a verified account. you maybe have more chance by founding a atm near you and buying with cash

dude what ?

I already bought Bitcoin with my payonner and netteller on buysomebitcoins yesterday, what are you talking about ?
Today I tried with my debit card issued my bank in Israel and I bought another $15.
