Max Keiser has been pumping this thing for all it's worth this month.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t39jCXXIrY

That goes out on RT RT broadcast through 30 satellite and 500 cable operators to over 100 countries, 25 percent of all cable subscribers worldwide.

Max Keiser would pump anything he's invested in. He did it with Silver , before it crashed.
The guy might be helping the Bitcoin community, but he's doing it out of ignorance and greed.

He practically hates and bashes anything that has to do with capitalism, yet he made his fortune out of exactly those things that the western world has been acknowledged for.

With that being said, any publicity is good publicity Smiley.

6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HELP Please - blkindex.dat corrupt QT will not start on: March 07, 2013, 10:13:55 AM
Yes to all.
You can use your wallet.dat ( if it's not outcropped ) with any client.
For quick verification that everything is fine I would suggest using
https://blockchain.info/wallet/import-wallet
this way you could import you wallet and open an online one without downloading the whole block chain.

good luck Smiley

OK its back to 38+ and the massive ask walls have disappeared

IMO thats a good thing. Too much steam too fast and we'll crash hard.

sigh....

i see profit taking in action....
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: jesus are we going to hit $40 today? on: March 05, 2013, 09:12:22 AM
take a look at this :
same goes for mtgox
so many buyers... yet so little sellers.
as if everybody believes it's going up up up !!!!

11  Economy / Speculation / Re: jesus are we going to hit $40 today? on: March 05, 2013, 07:45:05 AM
This is utterly insane.
If you look at the order book of mtgox you'd see there are much more request for buying than selling.
I, too, believe that the Bitcoin value is still very low if you consider it's vast potential.
But that's the most of it , POTENTIAL. It has yet to gain enough market creditably to go this high, this fast.

I see a lot of profit taking in the near by future ( Today < Near by future > Friday ).
12  Economy / Speculation / Low bids cause it's Monday ?? on: March 04, 2013, 10:07:42 AM
is it possible Bitcoin bids are low now because it's Monday,
and people haven't had the chance to wire transfer their $$ ?
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What makes the bitcoin price go up and down? on: February 26, 2013, 10:14:15 AM
One thing important to mention.
Arbitrage doesn't work in Bitcoin.
E.g - 1 btc = 30 USD = 28.6 EURO
If the USD falls down by 50% - then the Bitcoin won't be valued at 60 USD, yet it will still be valued at 28.6 EURO.
Which means If you sell you Bitcoins for EUROS (which had no change ) and then buy with it USD - you just doubled the your money ( on USD value , of course ).

The reason is that there is no central authority to eliminate the arbitrage difference that is created.
No reason to panic. People aren't stupid - they wont sell it for less than 60 USD.... but only the sellers/buyers will be responsible for doing so.

This isn't 100% clear to me. Are you suggesting that arbitrage is not possible with Bitcoin because of the relative value it has at the moment of purchase? I'm extremely interested in arbitrage with Bitcoin and am looking for further clarification on this, I don't mean to put you on the spot. Thanks!

Sorry, my bad. I've been using the terminology wrong.
I meant that Arbitrage Management does not exist.
Arbitrage is the practice of taking advantage of a price difference between two or more markets.
So of course in Bitcoin markets the arbitrage is significantly more lucrative than in Fiat markets.
I was merely saying that in case the difference between Bitcoin markets goes wild - there is no authority to fix it/manage it/secure clients from it - only the sellers/buyers will determine how long till the difference fades away.
That time - From when the difference in price starts until the it fades away by buying/selling - that's where you want to be.

17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bcchanger.com on: February 24, 2013, 05:30:17 PM
Thanks for the quick reply mate.
If the only advantage they have there is PP then I really have nothing to do there.
I was curious about the low prices. Like us all. I thought I'd found a good bargain. Turns out it's mostly scammers.
Oh well, I'll stick to bitstamp and bitcoinlocal.

18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bcchanger.com on: February 24, 2013, 04:29:43 PM
I know this thread is a bit old, but someone might hear me here.
I see the prices are still Delicious, yet the site is dynamic - users keep coming and going.
How come they sell bitcoins for 11$/15$/18$ etc... when the price is 30$ now ?
I offered to pay with paypal to someone but he wanted me to pay him first before he sends me the bitcoins.
I offered  btcrow.com - he didn't reply.
Sounds like a scam. But ALL OF THE OFFERS ARE ??
