1  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC Security Broken? on: July 10, 2024, 11:12:32 AM
"BTC's longterm security depends on people paying extremely high TX fees which won't happen in a free market."
This is basically the new "bitcoin is bad for the environment" FUD that started a while ago to also justify the ongoing spam attack against Bitcoin that is known as Ordinals.

The flaw in this types of argument is that they forget the price.
You see, miners don't pay their bills in bitcoin, they pay it in fiat. So if they earn 1BTC they pay the same electric bill in fiat (eg. $100) than if they earn 1.2BTC with fees. That means if bitcoin is worth $120 they are already making a profit ($20) and if they earn 1.2BTC they make a bigger profit ($44). In other words they don't need that extra income generated by the fees.

So far the price has been on the rise in the long run (in each halving cycle) and you can't find anybody who would argue that the rise is going to stop here and never go up.
Keep in mind that this is for the near future, like next 10 years. Anything beyond that (like speculating on year 2140 where there is no more coins left to mine) is silly because it is impossible to know how the cryptocurrency and cryptography scene is going to be beyond next 10-20 years let alone talk about 100 years from now!

Bottom line is that high fees is a problem that needs to be fixed specially when it is caused by a spam attack like Ordinals that is exploiting the protocol and is abusing the bitcoin blockchain.

I agree with you, if mining is not profitable logically Bitcoin mining will stop forever from yesterday or today. In fact, more and more new and old miners are expanding their scale. And I am sure that the miners are not stupid or lack knowledge, many of the miners are currently using green energy and environmentally friendly solutions, noise problems and other environmental problems are always being improvised or updated to make them environmentally friendly, even at the level of countries or world governments. also contributed to the improvisation of environmentally friendly Bitcoin mining

Apart from that, regarding what the OP said regarding transaction fees, Bitcoin transaction fees do go up and down but tend to be stable at around $2. The spike in transaction fees that we experienced up to $20 only occurred for a few moments and was not permanent, this is indeed a problem but not that serious considering that even with low fees we can still send Bitcoin even though we have to sacrifice time which can reach 1 week for transactions BTC confirmed. I'm sure Bitcoin developers are still racking their brains to make Bitcoin even better in the future.
2  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Web3Poker.com] Softest cash games in cryptospace on: July 10, 2024, 03:46:31 AM
Welcome to the forum OP, I can see that you have come here to advertise and promote your casino as this is the biggest bitcoin and crypto community. As suggested by @Nwada001, you should get a corper membership to enable to give us the details of what your casino looks like and also make your advert more unique and easy for forum members to understand what the site looks like.

I tried viewing your site, by clicking on the link that you provided but it says that I am restricted and cannot have access only if I contact the casino. Is it that your site is restricted for gamblers in Nigeria or I need to use some VPN before I can access it.

As for the no KYC requirements, I hope that when a gambler wins huge amount of money, you guys wouldn't ask for KYC to deprive the winner his withdrawal, because we have seen casinos that claims to be KYC free that after a big win, they say KYC is mandatory for withdrawal.

Try setting DNS on your browser or Google Chrome using Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) without needing to use a VPN. Using a VPN is very vulnerable and has the potential to be blocked by a site if the site prohibits its users from using VPN.

However, if the DNS settings don't work, maybe VPN is the only way, or you can place bets on other sites that can be accessed easily without using a VPN.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Most effective indicators? on: July 10, 2024, 03:40:44 AM
Not all indicators can be used in the market and are useful for determining market direction, because the market operates with various factors such as fundamentals or the influence of the ups and downs of the economic level in each country and a person's behavior in investing/buying and selling on the spot market. However, we use what the OP shared very often and has proven to be effective in monitoring market movements. Fibonacci may be what I often use and tends to be accurate, but it doesn't rule out the possibility of inaccuracies.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I introduce Bitcoin to my client? on: July 10, 2024, 02:01:49 AM
First, don't be too persistent in convincing someone to dive into the Bitcoin realm. The reason is, Bitcoin is volatile, and there is a risk of loss if someone does not really understand Bitcoin itself.

To use Bitcoin in terms of payments or anything else, both parties must know what Bitcoin is, how the system is and the risks and benefits. If only one person understands and the other party doesn't understand, this will clearly cause new problems.

Innovation comes from oneself and knowledge of it. If innovation is just an invitation or coercion it will only cause problems and losses due to a lack of understanding in this area.

No doubt, Bitcoin is one of the fastest and smartest virtual currency that has been designed to support P2P and a transparent transaction between users on a decentralized network.
In terms of speed and cheap transaction costs, perhaps there are types of cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin that are superior to BTC.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to become a successful trader on: May 18, 2024, 08:56:55 PM
The meaning of success is very broad. And I'm sure each of us has our own standards regarding trader success. What is clear for me personally is that a trader who is not subject to passion, has self-control, is calm when making purchases and sales, is able to develop assets, and is able to analyze an opportunity is a successful trader.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to handle emotions when you lose during trading. on: April 06, 2024, 11:35:50 AM
Regarding the second point regarding leverage, this is a vital thing, the greater the leverage, the greater the risk of loss. Coupled with the use of large margins. This is also very risky. When it comes to futures trading or margin trading, the greater the leverage and margin will increase the risk of loss, but if we talk about profits, the greater the leverage and margin, the greater the profits we will get.
Implementing SL is very helpful in minimizing losses. And the strategy in entering the market is also very influential where we decide to place a position in the price range. If we carry out analysis haphazardly and enter positions haphazardly and blindly to trends, I am sure this can also result in continuous losses.

Personally, I think that the bullrun this time belongs to Bitcoin or even the BRC20 network. The reason I chose it was related to the ETF on bitcoin which had just been accepted and legalized, especially when compared to the past gold ETF which was able to create bullishness for 8 years after being accepted and legalized, I hope and happened on bitcoin or bitcoin's BRC20 network.
9  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambling addiction is not about the money you could win; it's about the "win" it on: April 03, 2024, 11:24:23 PM

I think socialization+joy+drinking+gambling is satisfaction to them. What do you think?

I think for someone who has a lot of money, such as politicians, artists, rich people, it depends on their environment and friends. Usually they use gambling and drinking alcohol and so on as a cover to run business and increase relationships, what is worse is drug use and leads to sex too. Obviously it's fun, and will continue to happen because it has become a tradition.

12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake it all put of over confidence in your club on: March 23, 2024, 06:37:17 AM
In my opinion, OP's story is the definition of gambling. You are sure of your choice then place a bet.

In gambling, winning or losing is normal and is only limited to these 2 choices. If you win then it is luck, which is sometimes very difficult to repeat.

As gamblers, we should be wise in using betting money because if we lose, we might lose that money.

For me, gambling is an outpouring of emotion. If we have funds for gambling, that's where emotions will be out of control, I'm sure even for pro players, when it comes to gambling games, emotions will appear and disappear suddenly. Maybe this is a matter of mood too, winning or losing are two patented choices in gambling games so the possibility expressed by the OP is a definite thing.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it time now to use Premium VPN when playing in the casino? on: March 03, 2024, 03:56:04 AM
What I know is that using a VPN is very risky in gambling. Especially if the gambling site has rules that prohibit the use of VPN. In the long term, VPN use will still be detected and can cause several problems with your account. It's better to avoid and try other sites to be safer and more comfortable

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin Investment and Why Are Bitcoin Withdrawal Fees So High? on: November 13, 2023, 12:48:43 PM
First of all, many thanks to the founder of this forum. I got ideas about bitcoin and bitcointalk forum by watching YouTube videos, I registered account in this forum to know bitcoin better and by studying daily regularly I was able to get better idea about bitcoin today. I had a hard time with one thing at first, because I live in a country where Bitcoin is still illegal, I didn't get any idea about Bitcoin from anyone. I am currently 30 years old, if someone had given me an idea about Bitcoin before 2010 or 2020, I would have made a lot of money investing in Bitcoin today. Luckily I came to know about Bitcoin 2 months ago by watching a youtube video. If I hadn't seen this YouTube video, I still wouldn't have got the idea about bitcoin. When I got the idea about bitcoin, the price of bitcoin was 25k to 26k. If I had invested in Bitcoin when it was 26k, I would have made a lot of profit today. I did not invest at that time as I did not have a good understanding of Bitcoin. Inflation in our country is increasing day by day. I didn't put all the savings I had in the bank, I bought land a few days ago for $10000. I still have $5000 in savings I bought bitcoin yesterday for $1000. I have another $4000, I will buy $100 worth of bitcoin every 15 days.

The only reason I am posting this today is that I bought bitcoins from kucoin exchanger. I learned bitcoins are not secure in bitcoin exchangers. I chose a hardware wallet. Now my problem is that when I try to transfer bitcoins to hardware wallet, I see a fee of 0.0005 bitcoins, what is the reason for the high fee? A few days ago, it seems that it was 1-2 dollars. Fee will not be reduced? If the fee is not reduced then I will withdraw with this fee.

Some exchanges have fixed fee which might be high. In future, choose exchanges with less fees. You can find list of such exchanges online.

Exchanges like this usually prioritize speed of transaction confirmation and take the highest standard fees. A few days ago the Bitcoin network was congested and transaction fees were also high. If you have objections to transaction fees, we can first check Bitcoin transaction fees before confirming the transaction, or alternatively use another network. In my opinion, $1-$2 to move $1000-$10000 of profit is not a problem.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting losses, Take a break and just focus on Bitcoin. on: November 12, 2023, 12:05:37 AM
Futures trading is really risky, even if you advised your friend to focus only on Bitcoin. If he lacks the knowledge, experience, and capability to perform technical analysis, this scenario will only happen again. Futures come with a higher risk and are not for beginner traders. Better try to do spot trading and practice his trading skills with that or through demo trading.

You could say my friend is experienced, he has been trading for a long time, forex and cryptocurrency. However, his Money Management is not perfect, I am sometimes surprised by the Margin used.

And the bad news, yesterday he was liquidated 🤦‍♂️.

At least I suggested Bitcoin futures for him to focus on just that one pair, I'm worried if this continues and he is still determined to trade altcoin futures. We know that altcoins do not always follow Bitcoin. However, if Bitcoin experiences a decline, it is certain that altcoins will experience a sharp decline.

There are several missing information in this post: does your friend have any knowledge about the risks involved with trading? Are $150 a lot of money for him? Is he doing this in order to make money that he actually needs or is he just playing around? Every situation is different, the important thing is to know what you are doing.

You could say he has experience, he has analytical skills but is still inconsequential in Money Management. He's a businessman. Sometimes he trades and he uses any profits he makes to pay off the bank debt he has to build his business. I know the business is running smoothly and has good profits. However, I sometimes feel annoyed with his haphazard trading style, where if he was serious and disciplined he might be able to get stable profits.
