1  Economy / Economics / Re: How will financial crisis affect crypto? on: December 20, 2020, 05:44:23 PM
It looks like the downtrend on the financial system is inevitable. How do you think this will affect crypto? People used to refer to gold in the past, will they move to crypto this time instead?
I kinda think, that the upcoming crisis actually gives crypto a chance.
Previous years show us that overall financial crysis can heavily boost crypto market, but that effect won't last for long if economy is completely destroyed, because most people will stop reinvesting their funds from fiat to crypto at some point
2  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic: good for the bitcoin market or bad? on: November 03, 2020, 12:02:30 AM
Good day,
forgive a newbie question please. I am new on the bitcoin scene and I am also pretty fresh in economics. I am learning, I suppose that is what I wanted to say. I was an ignorant for a way to long and now I trying to gain knowledge to be a little wiser. I got a bit lost because of the pandemic and I wonder is it good to invest in bitcoin and stock market nowadays or should I wait and see what is the market response going to be. I was pretty sure I got a hang of it but the situation changes so dynamically that it is hard for me to follow.
Its not a newbie thing to ask those questions - its the way you decide to answer it.
Give it a research, don't believe people here.
Moreover, you won't find anyone who has experience with crypto during pandemics and lockdown - it just never happened.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My experience as a newbies in ICO/IEO on: October 07, 2020, 02:30:53 AM
Is there still an ICO projects? I thought most of the are now adapting the IEO? Well that's true I invested before to ICO multiple times especially on presales and what happened is that after hitting the exchange the value of my investment almost reduced up to 60%
Unfortunately, it will take more than a couple of publicly known scams to get rid of ICOs, simply because this is a working system to start a project, a good one as well.
Hopefully, we'll manage to avoid scams and ICO will be a good thing once again
4  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bit[Suspicious link removed]d for the economy? on: September 15, 2020, 06:35:29 AM
First and foremost - bitcoin is good for each individual bitcoin investor, thus its good for the economy, because ultimately it boosts people's purchasing power which drives economy in the first place.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is defi reason for skyrocketing fees? on: August 31, 2020, 07:30:26 AM
I was a bit worried from last few days regarding the high gas fees because I've to pay 10 to 15$ per transaction, that's a huge amount for me as fees, so I started my research regarding the gas fees, and found that defi is the only reason that makes the gas fees that high ,due to the huge trend of defi it makes the ethereum network so much busier that we've to pay more than usual for gas fees ,what you think about it ,help me understand current situation for being so high fees.
You probably heard of defi hype on news or even here on this forum.
So eth miners are just not capable of maintaining this much of transactions, this lead to fees getting higher.
Transaction fees are not as bad as exchange fees though, so I myself decided to settle everything down and make couple wise decisions instead of shorting
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A project to help make Ethereum the number one cryptocurrency. on: August 19, 2020, 02:14:25 PM
I invite you to discuss an idea that can help Ethereum become the number one cryptocurrency or disprove it.
Currently, there is not a single cryptocurrency storage and lending solution in the cryptocurrency world that does not depend on the speculative rate of BITCOIN, managed by its main owners and who benefit from its controlled volatility.
In the project I propose, there is a solution for lending cryptocurrencies secured by smart contract tokens, without fear of losing financial assets in the event of negative market volatility. If you can refute the idea of my project, I ask you to prove it in numbers, and if you see the prospect of development, I will be glad to accept any help or advice for its implementation.
http://prosh.ru/smartcontract.html
First of all, this needs to be on service announcement or service discussion, not altcoin discussion.
And about the idea itself - I'm feeling controversial about it, because I highly doubt your point that the service helps the ethereum originally.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to invest my $1.5K? on: August 05, 2020, 09:27:55 AM
If you have experience in choosing new projects, I think you should use that money to invest in IEO projects in this market, you will definitely get a lot of profits from it. But if you do not have the experience, it is best to buy the top altcoins in this market
Even if you have experience, you should not invest the entire portion of your investment in IEO; Even people with full experience cannot benefit from IEO in this market many times. So I think one third of your investment should be invested in IEO, one third in Bitcoin and the rest in Top Altcoins. I believe you can be risk free.
I'm not sure how you think this scheme is risk free. For sure it is way less riskier than investing in only IEOs than in IEOs, Bitcoin and Altcoins.
However, you should consider that crypto market is very synced at the moment, thus being said if bitcoin will drop - don't you expect alt market to remain on the same level.
8  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which country will be the Next world power on: July 30, 2020, 06:19:37 AM
World power has been a dynamic most developed country strive to become, we have heard of times the Romans, the Greeks and even the Germans have been world powers, and they influenced the world with their domination. Now the USA is said to be the world power. From all indication, there might be a new world power in the near future.
What criteria will bring a new country to world power. Through Cryptocurrencies, solutions to Pandemics in health, philanthropy?. Please share your opinions. Thank you.
I guess blockchain and cryptocurrency do great job to put away this world power from one thing and give it to everyone in small pieces.
You would be right if you say that there will be world power anyway, just less powerful.
My guess is - the next world power will be (and already is) IT companies like google, apple, microsoft and etc
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know if the project is fake? on: July 18, 2020, 04:00:50 PM
a lot, but it's not certain either
1. team
see the composition of the team managing the project and how their identity can be trusted
2. media
3. exchange
4. price and investment returns
I love how you accidentally (or on purpose) put them in exact right order of degree of importance.
The first thing you need to check is the team and if you can't find almost no info - chances are you should find another project at this point
10  Economy / Economics / Re: Some Strategies to Face the Next Crisis on: July 02, 2020, 08:53:32 PM
One thing I have learnt during this time is that one should have backup ready so that not depending on a single income itself. Something financially, one should be doing various things so that in some way or other you can become financially strong. Also saving is important thing now and cutting the credit cards bills in coming years will be important thing.
Saving includes not-investing in something long term or sketchy or high risk at all
But mainly yeah - do not rely on one way of income otherwise chances are you'll be screwed
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE ETHEREUM GAS FEES on: June 28, 2020, 02:44:59 PM
Fees are getting higher, transactions got slower
I hope for the best and I hope it will come with eth2.0 then we all can live happily again
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum Classic undervalued? on: June 18, 2020, 09:29:20 AM
If you are into crypto for a long term ride then it's good if you can buy ethereum classic right now, it's so undervalued and if Bitcoin rise better in near future ETC will bring better return of investment
However price of ETC is not following btc all the way, I tend to agree - if btc will meet success is much more likely to etc price go higher
And etc at the moment is so cheap that we all can buy it as long term investment - who knows it may out beat eth in several years
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New exchanges worth my money???? on: May 16, 2020, 11:15:48 AM
I remember, last year BCNEX was a new platform that was predicted to be big in the future and many people started buying tokens from the platform, even one of my friends bought a bcnx token for around $ 1,000 but apparently until now the platform looked scam. so if the possibility of a 99% scam why do you still want to invest in a new platform? better investment in a well-known platform token
yeah right
even if you are risking your funds investing it in some new exchange - try to minimize the losses.
In this particular example your friend should've invested (for instance) $100 in 10 different exchanges and if he was very confident about bcnex he should've invested like $150, not $1k
but anyway, we make mistakes - we gather experience
14  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic outcome on: May 06, 2020, 02:28:58 AM
I agree with you that if the government helps the people then the epidemic will be better and many will be saved from the financial crisis. The Canadian government has extended more help than the US government in economic aid. Although the government provides relief funds to the poor, political leaders are interfering, so it would be better if there are many sites in this forum where we can solve some of our own problems by working without relying on the government. It is possible to deal with financial problems through trade or investment.
There is no epidemic that makes something good, because the pandemic itself is a disaster that must be ended immediately. Yes indeed, when there is any disaster and in this case it is an epidemic that at least there will be a movement carried out by the government and there is no government that is just silent in the case of any disaster, so it is natural and indeed must be done by the government to help ease the burden on its people during the pandemic and crisis like this.
this disaster isn't a pure mess as it always happens with humans. people managed to restructure their companies, get used to new job duties and etc.
I can't say it is positive by any means, but we have to find at least something to be happy about
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: High rewards still possible in bounties? on: April 30, 2020, 07:27:51 PM
nan bounties are pretty much dead for the foreseeable future. The average person is not buying new projects IEO tokens coins since 2017. So if nobody buying into new projects then even if a project is doing a bounty it won't be worth anything.
there are some chances that after current halving there would be more newcomers on crypto market offering some  quality bounties. but at this particular moment there are almost none quality bounties afaik
16  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we get people to use bitcoin as a currency? on: April 20, 2020, 11:33:31 AM
How can we get people to use bitcoin as a real currency and not just a quick way to get cash as a lot of people seem to do? When I say currency, I mean the literal definition of currency as something that is used as a medium of exchange.
Even online, there are only a few stores who are accepting it as payment.
You said it by yourself - there aren't many stores who accepts bitcoin (or other crypto) out there.
And there aren't many handy tools to make transactions either.
Moreover, transaction fees are higher than for usd ones.
At this point bitcoin is really a thing to brag about and/or make profit.
It will take some time to make it possible to use daily, maybe it won't be bitcoin after all
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Toilet Paper Token in Yobit on: April 03, 2020, 02:04:18 PM
CMC has made a small joke but Yobit took it very seriously. It is understandable why the Yobit traders rush to pump the toilet paper token but the losers are more than winners. It is a win-win for the Yobit team and as always the average traders lose this bet.
Is it a win-win for yobit tho?
If people will get screwed there will be a lot of rumors and shouts about yobit being shillers.
So they should be very careful about this token
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Browser add-ons are just not safe on: March 31, 2020, 09:41:25 AM
Why would people insert their recovery phrases in to an add-on? The only add-on I trust is Meta mask, even with Meta mask I don't import my eth wallet that consist of huge funds, staying safe is very important if you don't want end up with nothing but bad news
Yeah I found out metamask is relatively safe, but I don't risk much funds to bring in there since it is in the damn browser where I can surf without vpn, so its not safe in general
19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone use UltraMixer dot net? on: March 19, 2020, 12:24:15 PM
It's a scam[1]. You can also check this review site[2]. What's strange on that site is that UltraMixer has no online presence and yet, have many good comments while more known and reputable mixers like ChipMixer have no comments at all.

[1] https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5176363.0
[2] https://bestbitcoinmixers.com/bitcoin-mixers/ultramixer-review/

yeah it looks like the whole review service is a scam pandemonium
they didn't even bother themselves fake good reviews on real good services
20  Economy / Economics / Re: My economy Predicrions are true!! Gold is trash on: March 08, 2020, 09:17:13 AM
I’m ready to accept any amount of this garbage from you, I’m completely ready to cover the cost of transporting it to me. Then it turns out that you can call anything whatever rubbish, real estate, stocks, cryptocurrencies, absolutely everything that could decline.
Very smart message. I was just looking through the posts in this thread, intending to write similar in content. Whoever considers gold to be garbage, dispose of it by handing it over to those who do not consider it like that.
Some fluctuations in gold prices occur periodically, but it was, is and will be an almost eternal value. Of course, in the future it will be possible to "catch" in space a gold asteroid of several tens of millions of tons and this will collapse the gold rate, but this may not be soon.

But the gold itself can lose any real use case in nearest future and then any moment people can drop away gold they've had for centuries, because no one will value it anymore
