DTS: VE was 100% right! But his strategy was not effective.

VE doesn't want to share any of the info he has. I have asked him several times.

The whole situation with ActM, this forum thread and Ken Slaughter has disgusted me. I got busy with other ventures that have a higher probability of yielding me financial gain and have not been even reading this thread. CoinHoarder's questions are good. Has anyone communicated with the the disgusting, con-artist and liar Ken Slaughter in the last month of so?

Has anyone had contact with any officials from Wood Law or the State of Missouri?

What is the current state of things with ActM?

Has anyone physically went to Missouri and tried to locate Ken?

Has anyone heard from him since July?

Has anyone heard anything from Wood Law since sending in your "evidence" against VMC/Ken?

Well one thing is for sure, VE was right all along.

Also, VE still has a lot of information on Ken that he never released, I wonder if he ever will....

You are asking good questions which have been answered many times on here.

Here is my answer (again):

Chances are, you will not get any of your money back. Ken Slaughter is a liar and a theif and he and his lawyer will be clever about preventing Ken from returning anything.

My opinion is that the State of Missouri should demand that Ken Slaughter sell ALL the assets of ActM/VMC and then distribute all the assets including mined bitcoin to all the shareholders according to the number of shares they own.

That is compensation should be made in bitcoin.

Then, the state should fine Ken Slaughter for $200,000 and the money to pay that fine should be taken from Ken's personal assets and not ActM/VMC.

The only way that we have a chance to get anything back is if you contact the investigators whose contact information has been supplied on this list many times, and contact the lawyer who is acting against Ken.

I also am going to contact Ken's lawyer and talk to him.

The more people who give information to the investigator, the beetr chances that they will be able to pressure Ken into doing the right thing.

can somebody please descripe the probably best approach to try get back a part of our money. thanks.

should we contact a lawyer? or the investigators?
4  Economy / Securities / Do something, contact the investigator on: June 18, 2014, 01:22:24 PM
Once again, we can complain all we want about Ken Slaughter, but unless you are calling or emailing the investigator and lawyers
and sharing your story, it is all smoke and vapor.

We can complain on here all we want, but that will change nothing.

The only actions which make sense are to share all your information regarding your interactions with Ken Slaughter with the Missouri investigators, the address and email and phone number of whom has been shared here multiple times.

Also, it make sense to contact both Woodlaw and Ken's lawyer and express your opinion.

Mine is that Ken Slaughter be forced to liquidate all his personal assets and all of the assets of ActM and distribute them to all the shareholders except for his family members.

It is a background check on Ken Slaughter
7  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: June 17, 2014, 09:46:08 PM
A) It does not matter what Ken's original intent was. The fact is, he began lying at some point and made decisions that have caused investors to lose money.

B) There is no need to prove it was a scam. There only is need to get Ken to pay out the dividends he promised and be honest now.

What is important now is for everyone to share what information they have with the Missouri investigators, and to do what we can to publicize Ken Slaughter's reputation so that he is unable to ever start up any other technology business.

It would be interesting to find out where he does currently work.

So how can you prove that it was a scam, and not just a failed business? He is right that the difficulty shot up higher than anyone expected.
8  Economy / Securities / Information Sent on: June 17, 2014, 01:48:11 PM
This morning, I just forwarded all the emails between Ken Slaughter and myself from even before I bought shares.
It is a collection of emails which have all the promises (lies) Ken Slaughter told me.
Now, the investigators in Missouri will have them.

Ken, do you or your lawyer read this?  Be an honorable man and liquidate ActM, distribute the mining proceeds you have on Eligius, sell the assets and distribute all that. That is the honorable thing to do.

To everyone else, if you have any emails from Ken, any records of communication with him, please share it with the investigators in Missouri.

Write to scott.johnson@sos.mo.gov and share with him your story, date of investment, total amount of bitcoin invested, number of shares owned, the name of the company, any copies of emails or IRC or PMs with Ken, and a narrative of what you were told about the investment.

Really just more of a token gesture; how do we go about getting a scammer tag on the kslaughter account?

DTS:

You are 100% acucrate. Ken has forgotten the people who were his friends and now sees us all as his enemies.

SO be it. I am in the process of sending the financial investigators in Missouri more than enough information to prove that Ken Slaughter lied over and over again.

If Ken Slaughter was a smart man instead of just a sleazy one, he would contact me and try to negotiate a price for my shares, since what he wrote to me earlier on, is very condemning.

I suggest EVERYONE contact the investigators. One way of the other, Ken Slaughter career as a scammer is not going to end well for him.

The speculation and posts in this thread are a joke.

Why the f*ck isn't Ken saying anything about whats going on?!

Ken is now in full "us vs them" mode where the customers and shareholders are enemies that threaten to take away Ken's right to our Bitcoin.

ZumZero,

If you really are buying ActM shares now, you are doing something very, very, very stupid.

I would be will to sell you all of my shares for .0008 a share.
You must buy all of my shares at once.

Contact me in PM if interested.

Otherwise, and I have just recently read back postings for the past week, it is clear Ken Slaughter has lied to us all since the very beginning.

Anyone who argues otherwise is just plain wrong.
The overwhelming evidence for the past year is that even if Ken Slaughter had good intention to produce miners, doing so was beyond his skill and organizational level and he soon began lying to us all.

L-M

I will have the last laugh and won't rest until I own over 20% of all shares.

You guys can all fuck off with your $2,000 rewards and SEC accounts and me, Ken and a select few sail off into the sunset to earn our fortunes in divs.  I am getting PM's from shareholders who offer kind words and who inform me that they are presently increasing their ActM portfolio.  Even ActM mods!  Wink

Who knows, by the time you lot get your buy back rewards in a years time, some of you may even make 1btc from selling your identities to the US Gov.  OMG.  Wake up and smell the ashes you muppets!

ROFL!!!  Grin Grin Grin

BG:

It is still an investigation.
Re-read the cease and desist.
The office of the financial investigator, Scott Johnson scott.johnson@sos.mo.gov is still looking to get copies of correspondence from Ken to investors.

The Cease and Desist order is not a final judgment. It is just the court's demand that Ken Slaughter stop trading and stop his illegal activity.

It does not give a final decision on how much should be returned or compensated to though from whom Ken Slaughter stole.

I have contacted MSD and am providng them with copies of emails in which Ken Slaughter made all sorts of promises to me.  I have enough in the correspondence he wrote me to nail him to a wall.

Earlier on, when Ken Slaughter needed money, he would write long emails to people.
Luckily, I saved it all and it will all be forwarded to Mr. Johnson.

I suggest that everyone who has early correspondence and promises from Ken Slaughter contact Mr. Johnson, also.

LM

Well we all knew they were unregistered securities and then a shareholder complained to the MSD. Most if not all of us are unaccredited investors in the United States which is why the only way to sell shares to us is through unregistered securities. There are likely no profits yet and the only way for the company to attempt to stay afloat would be to pay the MSD fine and cooperate with them.

I hate the no books, no accounts, and no dividends but now that this investigation has started and become a full investigation we the shareholders are not going to get any information from Ken until its over. Really unfortunate I mean we were getting very little information as it went along but its now completely dark.

Maybe we could propose an audit, Ken seemed open to it a month or so ago, but now I bet his lawyer would advise against it given the MSD investigation.

It's no longer an investigation....

Quote
Order to Cease and Desist and Show Cause Why Restitution, Civil Penalties, and Costs Should Not Be Imposed

http://freepdfhosting.com/0d53fc3f43.pdf

Ken has been found guilty after an investigation and has been ordered a cease and desist. He now gets a chance to defend himself against all of the penalties and restitution.

Please don't sugar coat this as you may mislead "shareholders". If current "shareholders" want to stay in for whatever reason at least let them have all of the facts to do so.

There are ways to collect money from the public legally by filling out certain paperwork and getting approved, Ken tried to circumvent the system by registering in belize and making it appear that everything was kosher.

The biggest part of this that shareholders do not understand is there will never be "profit". When you lose 400+ coins on an exchange, get a "partial refund" on an NRE that doesn't produce anything, and then use all  of the mining funds to pay back pre-orders that never materialized, you will always be "negative".
13  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: June 15, 2014, 11:38:10 PM
BG is correct: Buying an unregistered security is not illegal.
Selling an unregistered security is illegal.
The reason there are securities laws is to protect naive, stupid, or uninformed investors from losing money due to overt and covert lying by those selling shares in their companies.

We all took a risk in investing in VMC/AMC, but Ken did lie. The whole idea of having a government agency set about regulations for investment is to protect people like us from people like Ken Slaughter.

How do we know that the MSD will not come after shareholders as well?

I feel that we as shareholders were complicit in buying the shares violating the Securities Act so given my small share count I have been staying on the sidelines rather than risk a personal legal battle with the MSD. That is whats holding me back from making any calls. Do you have any thoughts about that and have you spoken to a lawyer about this? I think there are likely other shareholders in the same boat as me. My investment at the time of investing would only have been $6k in USD. The lost opportunity cost is huge but from an MSD standpoint I only lost $6k and that would barely cover any lawyer legal fees if I had to personally defend myself.

I don't believe buying unregistered securities is illegal, only selling. If it is please point me to that as I would be interested in learning about it.

You can call the MSD and not give your name or contact information but instead just talk and request information. Hell there are a ton of "free lawyer advice" lines and I'm sure one of them can answer your question.

I've currently not spoken to a lawyer about this as I'm waiting to see how the MSD handles the restitution issue.
14  Economy / Securities / A Bump in the Road on: June 05, 2014, 01:51:21 PM
What is happening is not a "bump in the road".

For over a year, there has been a pattern that has repeated. That pattern involves a lack of news, being told to wait for the upcoming big announcement.  Then the anouncement that comes is a grand disappointment.

We may never know if Ken, at the start was sincere and believed he could do what he said he wanted to do.
All we know is that despite his claims to have 30 years in business, he has not really ever been successful with any of his businesses, and that he has had a pattern of failures and bad decisions in regard to Active Mining/VMC.  He also has had complaint in regard to a cable/data company he ran previous to VMC.

Given Ken's track record with ActM/VMC, there is absolutely no reason evidence to show that this company has any possibility of being successful. In fact, the evidence suggests that whatever Ken's original motivations and intentions, it is now being run like a classic confidence scam.

Ken has indicated to me in PM, that he believes that the amount that will be paid in settlement to shareholders has already been agreed upon and established with finality.  That is a lie.

I contacted Jason Kander's office at 1-800-721-7996 and was told that it has not yet been determined what and how much and according to what formula will be paid to shareholders.

The impression that I have gotten from Ken and from his lawyer's press release (link below) is that Ken feels he should only pay the original investors, and then only the dollar amount of the value of the shares  at the time of the first IPO, plus 8% interest.  That would leave anyone who bought shares from any of the exchanges after out in the cold. My contention is that Jason Kander's office does not understand bitcoin, and we need to contact him and share our opinions and experience with him and his office and his investigators.

Further, I am sure Ken will set up some high bar to prove that you bought at first IPO.

My opinion is that ActM will not survive this little bump. Ken will try to hide any and all assets from ActM. Ken is not an honest man and anyone here who still has faith in him and trusts him is foolish. We each should contact Jason Kander's office and politely share what information we have. We should also suggest that we want payment in Bit, or at the value of bitcoin at the time of the cease and desist order and not the value of bitcoin at the time of the first IPO.

Kander's office has heard from Ken's lawyer but has not heard from many of us.

My further opinion is that all assets from ActM should be assessed and once a value place on them all, and a punitive fine added to that, and then that number should be divided by the total number of shares not owned by Ken or any member of the Slaughter clan.  And, the payment should be made based upon that calculation.

ActM should not be allowed to continue under Ken's control. Ken should be put into a situation where he is unable to start shady businesses ever again.

Please call Kander's office  1-800-721-7996. Tell whomever answers that you are a sharehold in Active Mining and would like to speak to the financial investigator.

For those of you who believe that somehow, talking to the Secretary of State of Missouri has ruined your chance of being a millionaire, you are foolish. Ken by his own mismanagment, intentional or due to incompetence, brought this upon himself. If we do not educate Kander's office on the situation, Ken's lawyer will be the major source of info regarding Bitcoin and we will lose out.

15  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: June 05, 2014, 02:17:57 AM
arousedrhino,

You asked me where do I think the money will come from to pay us back.

The answer is that I do not care. I do not care if Ken's lawyer gives him a loan, or if Ken has to sell his house, or if the judge forces Ken to pay a part of his future salary to pay us. Where the money will come from is Ken's problem.  He has 19K bitcoin somewhere.  He has hardware and savings and property. Maybe the judge will put a lien on all his possessions and he will have to declare bankrupcty. Maybe  It is Ken's problem to find the money to pay back all the people he ripped off.  Maybe all of Ken's houses and his car, and his furniture will go into some sort of receivership and will be auctioned off and we will get the proceeds from that.  That is the problem of Ken and his lawyers.

Ken is NOT your friend. He is not my friend. Friends do not lie and steal from each other.

What I care about is that Ken gets punished for lying to us all for so long and what I care about is that I am compensated for the damages caused by Ken's lying.

Here is a link to a copy of the Missouri Secretary of State Cease and Desist order which was sent to Ken Slaughter.

http://freepdfhosting.com/0d53fc3f43.pdf

The amount of restitution, and the formula which will be used to determine the restitution has not yet been determined.

It is pointless to argue whether or not government or lawyer involvement is a good thing or a bad thing. It already happened.

We all should read the cease and easiest order.

Several important points should be clear. The first is, the method and formula for restitution and fines has not yet been determined. And the second is, that the Office of the Secretary of State of Missouri might be influenced by good arguments from the community of share holders on how to determine restitution.

I am of the opinion that restitution should be made in Bitcoin, not in US currency, and that it should be at the rate of .0025 Bitcoin per share, to be paid either in bit coin directly, or at the exchange rate of the time of the cease and desist order, which is about $540 per Bitcoin.

Contact information for the Secretary of State of the Missouri is available and from what I understand, they are receptive to data which could help in determine restitution.

Where will that money come from Lorenzo?Huh

Its one thing to have everything liquidated and distributed to shareholders evenly. Its another to make an impossible demand. There is no way he can refund .0025 BTC per share. The money was spent, not wisely but spent nonetheless.

17  Economy / Securities / A PM WITH KEN on: June 04, 2014, 12:22:21 PM
FROM A PM WITH KEN:

Ken,

Things do not seem to be going very well for you, my friend.  Will you be honest and honorable or will this all end very badly?

We can settle this outside of the MSD and without the need for me to use a private lawyer.  We really should come up with an agreement of an amount of bitcoin you will give me in exchange for my shares so we do not have to bring this ugliness to court.

Don't you agree?

Lorenzo

Not very good to threaten legal action, because what I will say to you is have at it.

You can have a refund just like everyone else.

Please share with us about Active Internet Communications.

"Additionally, Slaughter should have advised investors of relevant complaints against Slaughter and his previous company, Active Internet Communications."

How can you claim you haven't lied to us?

Have you no shame?
20  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: June 04, 2014, 11:41:31 AM
Jasun,

Do you have a case of Bitcoin Stockholm syndrome?
This company has always been a barge turning the corner. In fact, the current story has been the story since the very start. Although investor were risk takers, there is a big difference between taking a risk, and someone out and out lying and hiding information from investors that would allow them to make a somewhat educated decision regarding the risk.

Yes, you are all upset because you believe that this MSD thing ruined the chances of ActM to turn around. The MSD thing ruined the the miracle that was supposed to happen.  Actually, Ken continually lied to us, and the letter you wrote to the MSD secretary was really stupid.

So it looked like this barge was turning the corner the last month or so and wack we get the State hitting us with this news.....that we all knew was coming.  Now that we have a farm going, and are selling product, I think it would be a shame to not see this project to some meaningful and natural end or succuess.  This is a very critical time in this company's formation, and were set to take advantage of some really bad players mistakes.   I just hope the State levys a suspended penality with criteria that Ken needs to meet in a specific duration decided by the State...or even better, ACTM shareholders that will cure the charges.  This is highly unlikely, but this peroid now is what is going to determine the company's future long term. Now that it looked like Ken was getting up after stumbling out of the gate...like most in this field, we get hit with this....understandably. ..and just hope that Mr. Kander has all and the most recent facts on the scenerio.   Wink
