1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is getting addicted to gambling right or wrong? on: June 07, 2024, 08:31:33 PM
-snip-
Why would anyone want themselves to be addicted in the first place unless they are out of their mind?
Directly it interferes with their psychology, addicts will be more likely to do the activity repeatedly, even though the risk is very large.
They have no control over the decisions they make.
Crazy or not, gambling addiction is already like an additive

Addiction is something that happens overtime without us realizing it's happening and we only notice it when it way out of the range and start sucking the money we have and then do anything to make it happen even if you have nothing it can push to any limits.
Addiction becomes dangerous when it already interferes with their lives and that of others.
Someone who starts to get addicted will do all sorts of ways to be able to gamble, use any money to be able to get in and keep playing.

Even so, gambling addiction can still be cured with some appropriate methods and support from family and the environment.
It will provide space for addicts to be able to change and not be dependent on gambling anymore.

That's the advice I do give to newbies. Operate from the area of your core competence and you will add value to yourself and the forum. If only Op actually possess that skill, it will be helpful to him.
But I was skeptical about that skill when I saw the question that shouldn't have been asked.
There are many people who claim to have qualified skills in certain fields,
but it is only camouflage and only understands the basics, not really understanding it well.

I know some people who understand data analysis very well, and they do it well, get more merit and are very useful for the forum.
In fact, they started from a Newbie account, which then in a short time could rise in rank more easily.
The OP should have done that if he had the skill as a data analyst,.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 500sat/vb for a transaction? Has the world gone mad? on: June 07, 2024, 06:51:47 PM
People can propose anything they like, be it good solutions or complete garbage ones. Whether or not a proposal like that receives support and finds its way into the code is a completely different topic. I don't think it ever will. I am against everything these monkey spammers are doing and would love it if someone finds a practical way to get rid of them, and only them, without affecting anything else.
-snip-
I have some tokens on the Rune network, and they are available for free,
but I don't really use the Rune network and I haven't found any real use other than messing up the Bitcoin network which makes transaction fees even crazier.

Those in the network get a lot of benefits, but they have a bad effect on the ecosystem.
But they continue to evolve and more and more attention is paid to the network,
is it possible that someday it will not interfere with the main network, or will this continue to happen?
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you lost the money that you where supposed to withdraw from online casino? on: June 07, 2024, 05:06:25 PM
Is it wrong for the casino site to limit the number of times you make a withdrawal?
It depends on how ToS each online casino has, if you are indeed limited on a few withdrawals, you need to be patient to wait for the next day.

Losing money that you should have withdrawn is your own responsibility.
You shouldn't have used the withdrawn money to get back into the game, it's entirely your fault.

Learning to obey the rules you make yourself is difficult, but when you break them you will regret it, as happened in your case this time.
But if I were you and got a $500 win, I would withdraw everything in just one withdrawal, and probably only $10 would be left.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: With is the minimum post require to earn a merit on: June 07, 2024, 04:41:05 PM

You had in those replies all the information and all the counseling about merit and how you can get it, if from 80+ replies you weren't able to understand how merit is earned and you still thought even for a split second it's some quota then I'm sorry to say but probably its' time to stop thinking about merit altogether.

OP only focused on earning merit, not about how he could deserve it.
But thinking about the number of posts needed is beyond the requirements that are needed.

Looking at some of the OP's posts, he said that he has Data analysis skills,
Skill: Data Analyst, SAP MM and PM Analyst
Even I don't have such a skill, but if he does have it, it should be easy to get merit with the data analysis ability for this forum.
Create a thread that may have a technical discussion about forum, crypto or some data analysis that has never been discussed.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling increases computer education. on: June 07, 2024, 03:24:10 PM
-snip-
Most of them are even keeping their gambling activities secret to avoid unnecessary stigma. They failed to understand the main point of the thread which is clearly written as the title.
It does have to do with privacy that must be maintained, even though in disguise,
gambling places can still be known and when you don't ask permission to do that you are violating their privacy.
gambling is also very sensitive and sometimes does not want anyone to know about the gambling activities that are being carried out.

My point was that the presence of online gambling has helped these set of older generations to learn computer operations. The contribution might not be big but they exist.
It will make people who are old enough to use computers in gambling.
It will look quite difficult at first, but if they get used to it, they will be able to use it independently.

This did improve their skills, but most importantly they could know what they were doing.
But not only the older generation, others who are easier also need knowledge about the operation of more modern gambling.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is a fatal mistake on: June 06, 2024, 06:48:00 PM
-snip-
Gambling with your salary when you knkw that some persons depend on it for survival, and he was cool with it. We use our own hands to cause more problems for ourselves by gambling irresponsible.
When he decides to gamble on his main salary, then he can no longer distinguish between what is needed the most and which should actually be stopped.
Someone who is already an addict will use whatever money is important to them to play and bet.

Looking at the facts in my neighborhood, some of them do have the same story as the OP,
and others also use other people's money to gamble.

Eventually all will be gone because they are just addicted, have no gambling strategy and no management is done.
Professional gamblers alone can still lose, especially novice gamblers who rely only on luck to get in.

9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet against the club you support? on: June 06, 2024, 02:40:35 PM
I would definitely do it. Especially if I knew all the “kitchen” that is going on in the team. I say this so confidently because I have something to do with a sports team in my country that regularly loses. The point is not that I would do this against the team, but the fact that the team does not receive any bonuses or salaries while the players lose. But by betting on a loss, I would be compensating myself for the amount that should be paid to me for the time I spend working for this team.
I like your reasoning, being realistic enough and not being a fan so fanatical as to overlook the benefits that can even be gained from the defeat of the team we supported in the first place.

After all, betting is profit-seeking, not just a pleasure and forcing a club that will actually lose, but is still supported.
Compensating for yourself also needs to be done, being a supporter who is too fanatical is also not good, look at reality and take advantage.

11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: June 06, 2024, 12:55:54 PM
-snip-
If you are bluffing, everything is also clear: all-in is the best bluff and if you don’t do it, then your opponent can answer 5bet with a greater probability.
All-in bluffs will affect the final decision and the opponent's playing pattern,
this strategy will indeed be quite effective in some conditions because you have better cards in the game of poker.

With the All-in bluff you hope to win the entire pot which can earn more profits.

But you will also be faced with the reality that the All-in Bluff will not work when the strength of the opponent's card is stronger compared to the card you are holding or when you have a smaller number of chips compared to the opponent.

There are many poker strategies that can be applied, and some are indeed effective.
But not everything will work according to the original plan.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Between new tokens and old tokens, which would you invest into? on: June 06, 2024, 11:39:50 AM
If there is a choice like this, I will prioritize investing in old tokens that already have high market quality rather than new tokens. I will leave a little money to look at and take a chance on new tokens that have sufficient market movement. At least we can see the difference between new tokens and old tokens which are more profitable so don't just choose new tokens that are just temporary hype.
The point is to do research in sufficient detail on each new token project.
Looking at how the community is and how it is developing, if only a new token is just hype at the beginning, it will only be abandoned in the end.

Many new projects are indeed quite good with strong communities,
such as some Network tokens that are now appearing by rewarding users initially and then being listed on Tier 1 Exchanges.

I also have new tokens and old tokens that I still hold because they are progressing quite well.
But remember, that risks will always occur, and any token will follow the price of Bitcoin, so don't just stick to Altcoins, pay attention to how Bitcoin moves.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be aware that the government and the haters envies your progress on BTC on: June 06, 2024, 03:11:18 AM
This is the corrupt countries can’t see, they only see Bitcoin as a threat without them making any research about it. May countries are already making profit with Bitcoin taxes and I can’t see any big reason not to accept Bitcoin especially if you want to let your people handle their own finances. I believe banks are working so hard to prevent this from happening, as if they can’t afford to compete with Bitcoin because its decentralized.
Yes, that's the reality now, a country with too many corruption cases will rule out support for bitcoin even they ban it for no good reason.
They argue that bitcoin does not fit into their economic system.

But luckily in my country of Indonesia, I can still innovate in bitcoin and other cryptos because it does implement commodity regulations and is completely unsupportive of full adoption as a means of payment.

I think that's enough, because each country has its own research and goals and about the imposition of taxes on crypto,
it's a must-do where the country will benefit a lot.

-snip-
Nevertheless it's a big effort for them, not just for their bitcoin holdings, but it might really bring out money from the government itself.
-snip-
El Salvador is actually making huge profits from bitcoin because they buy Bitcoin early very consistently even though many underestimates it,
and they build mining that makes more bitcoins.
Bukele became a fairly successful president with the adoption of bitcoin, and they continue to build to this day.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is a fatal mistake on: June 06, 2024, 02:27:32 AM
Though it is already old news when we talk about the bad impact of gambling addiction to anyone, and yet, many people are still going into this route. It may start as a simple side entertainment up until they go deep because they forgot what they are really after for in the first place.
There will always be those who take this path with the same motive, as the story will be different.
Gambling would not actually be that bad if someone who got into gambling was aware and knew what their real goals were.

Many people just get into gambling with the initial intention of making more profits, but instead waste their money without any profit.
Sadly, they are too addicted, so there will be a lot of problems that occur due to uncontrolled gambling.

Choosing to gamble means knowing the consequences, knowing what not to do and knowing about the limits that should not be violated.
There are many professional gambling players who are indeed focused on playing, or those who only play for entertainment.
Playing with full control and not breaking boundaries certainly won't make fatal mistakes, but greedy human vices will destroy everything.

"If you have to play, decide three things at the beginning: The Rules of the Game, The Bets, and The Stop Time."
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can someone take gambling as a source of income to he/she life? on: June 05, 2024, 05:17:31 PM
And what will be your opinion towards the people living in this kind of lifestyle everyday of their life's?
I think it is a foolish and extremely risky way of lifestyle, gambling is unpredictable and earning money from it is not always guaranteed, and if they rely on it to make money they will inevitably experience financial challenges.
I won't argue, it is a fact about some of the risks that would occur if only relying on gambling as the main source to make money.
Because there will indeed be many problems such as addiction that will not be contained, because some people will only get carried away in uncertain games and continue to play despite experiencing many defeats.

But some professional gambling players like professional poker players Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, and Fedor Holz are making a lot of money from poker games. In any gambling or game there will be those who dedicate their lives to gambling, but indeed it will be very risky.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Ivey
https://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Negreanu
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fedor_Holz

Those who have been in the gambling world for quite a long time, have their own strategies, but also still range to be addicted and other problems. the most important thing is to know the limits and where you need to stop.

17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be aware that the government and the haters envies your progress on BTC on: June 01, 2024, 08:23:04 PM
El Salvador is an exceptional case with clear vision in their mind and a better future for their people but other leaders are not visionary as majority of them wants to milk all the money out of their people in the name of tax and also wants their people to stay struggling and you can take Nigerian and Indian government as an example of how they want to supress their people and wants to control everything. Not all government are crypto friendly there are only few.
Those who are not friendly with crypto are not yet aware that crypto will be a way out of various kinds of crises and inflation that continue to occur.
As in Nigeria which needs more good economic development and free from extreme inflation that occurs.

But if they shut themselves down and just want to oppose bitcoin, they will lag behind other developing countries.

El Salvador is an example of a country that makes more profits with Bitcoin and could build their own bitcoin mines.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: June 01, 2024, 08:03:15 PM
I think more often than not the all-in bets make you lose your bankroll rather than save it, but there have surely been times especially in poker for me that I kept going all in even when I had practically nothing to lose and I came back and made a killing! My favorite game to do this one tho would definitely have to be roulette.
wouldn't it be very risky to lose it all when you decide to go All-in.
In one good moment, of course, it will give many benefits, but the risk will also be greater.

I didn't even have enough courage to do All this, even though it looked like a victory.
Doing management and leaving some money would be better as a backup.
Victory will not always come, there will be defeat that will also come to anyone.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you achieved anything from gambling on: June 01, 2024, 07:25:48 PM
-snip-
Gamblers never share bad information about gambling because they are addicted to it and want to have more concentration on gambling instead of any other work. At the start gamblers neither share good aspects nor share bad aspects because this activity is hidden from others.
-snip-
Instead of not wanting to share information about gambling and become an activity that only you do,
but it makes you more stressed and has a lot of pressure when losses continue to occur.

Bad or good activities will all go unnoticed by others, this will result in gambling will always end in big losses.

They will never achieve anything in gambling except a losing streak. No one warns and advises whether what he's doing is right or wrong, and someone who knows about his gambling activities could be an alarm that it's time to take a break, so it's not too pushy.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Committing mistakes helps us to become a responsible gambler. on: June 01, 2024, 06:20:38 PM
-snip-
There are times I get so frustrated that I will just keep on pressing the bet button forgetting to calm down and maybe switch to another game.
If in the end you choose this path, then you will not solve the problems that occurred in the beginning, and you just move from one game to another.

More losses will come to you quickly.
Before switching, you should calm yourself down first, calm yourself mentally because if the mentality is not stable enough,
there are many thoughts of guilt and want revenge, so start to place bigger bets.

I know, it's not easy to forget a defeat that makes us mentally shaken.
But being aware of these mistakes and fixing them all will be better.
Becoming a responsible gambler will not be easy, but it can definitely be done gradually.
